Fellow 90s kid and grass eater here. I absolutely love being outside, going on hikes just to enjoy the scenery, trailblazing on my bike, doing some gardening around the house, the yardwork it’s all great. I rarely get sick and I think it’s due to my hands are always in the dirt. Something as simple as a mountain view or a nice spot by the lake especially with no vehicles to drown everything out brings me so much joy. It’s awesome!

Hey, Marz, thank you for taking us on this small, beautiful, and inspiring journey with you!
A few weeks ago, I was walking alone in the forest, and when I came out into an open space, the rain suddenly started. I felt the cold drops on my skin and the wind blowing through my clothes. It felt so good that I started to smile, spread my arms, and tried to soak in all those feelings. It was a moment of pure happiness. I felt so happy despite all the burdens and stuff happening around me...
Your video reminded me of that feeling and made my day much better, so thank you for that!

As someone who just started to appreciate walking and the outdoors, the best feeling is the tranquility that comes along with it. Being able to turn off your mind and just hear nature around you is an amazing feeling. To not have your mind preoccupied with bullshit from your phone or social media or just the stress of life and return to something so basic. The solitude is equally important, tbh I can't stand being around most people, maybe its my current location but when I go for a walk I just feel like I can breathe. I totally doubt Marz will see this but im sure more than a few people will understand what im rambling about. Thanks for the VLOG!

Marzy, thank you so much for this video, I really loved it, the vibe it gave me, the image, your words... everything. I could say that I'm also that kind of way you described, bc Now that I recently moved to another country, Alone, leaving my family and friends behind, sometimes the feeling of loneliness start to kick in and I have to go outside to refresh my thoughts, like hiking, rout on my bike, or simply just walking over the streets and that helps A LOT. So I felt super indetified with this video. Thank you again and for real, you should upload more of this kind of videos, see you at the streams and take care. Greetings from Canada. 🙌🙋

It is funny when you get back from a walk and sit down to see this content. I was just processing a thought I had in the middle of this big transition I am in. I am almost 30 years old, and so much of the ritual that built me up was being outside. I grew up in Indiana, at the time being in an underdeveloped town. It was the tail end of the OXY era and this town was hit hard with it. Mom was hopped up on a lot of things, despised my father understandably, and hated me. So outside was my time away from everything, it was for me. I grew up with bar family, so a lot of cousins are not actually my blood type of things. I just remember as young as 9 sneaking outside to watch the stars and peak at nature at night. Sometime later, those places gave me moments of safety to process some of the things that happen growing up. No matter where I went, going to Fort Benning GA and Fort Myer VA for the Army, going to Orlando for college, or coming back to Indiana, I always find a spot to write and a path to go for a walk. Absolutely critical for me to have developed. Fast forwarding to now, where everything has changed again for me. A lot of my identity has been challenged, and I feel tapped, yet here I am again starting another path to walk. My partner and I are over, I have moved to a new space, and I am starting over again. These little moments outside I treasure and sometimes even feel a little special to the universe. Marz I agree with taking time while walking, It was a couple weeks ago now, but I went for a late night walk. I went to a field on a hiking track that goes under bridges. Right in the clearing, I position my self center to the art the night was crafting. The moon was low enough that the trees bent around it. The shadows of the tree darken the lens of the moon beautifully. It was shaped like a portrait mode close up of the moon. That was a nice night.

It's views like this that makes me wonder how so many people don't like to get out & enjoy nature every once in a while. I get being a homebody, I mostly am one, too, but there's nothing that makes me feel better than the occasional fresh air & walk out in nature.

LOVED this video! Such a big draw to your content is simply YOU and your personality. These little snippets into your life and hobbies and mind just make you more and more relateable and connectable. Keep doing you and doing the things that truly fulfill you.
Also, as for what I love about the outdoors: I have always enjoyed that cool morning air (an oxymoron seeing as though I am an absolute night owl).
And a hobby that has always helped me find peace would have to be music. Listening, creating, even just messing around on a guitar or piano with no real structure in mind, just playing what comes to mind in that moment. It helps me feel grounded and connected to my soul.
    Much love and best wishes!

Listening to your favorite tunes while smelling the beach air and the wind hitting your face is one of my favorite outdoor activities, especially at dusk when the sunset is beautiful and your mind is at a state of peace and tranquility. I like to be outdoors too but mostly where there's nature, I live in a city so I don't like going out in places with a lot of people, you always have to be in alert mode because in big cities you have to watch out for everything, they can rob you, a car can hit you, there's a lot of noise etc, not peaceful at all, I have more peace at my house, but the only place I find true peace is in nature, places with a lot of trees and green, in those places you can relax and not have to worry about anything, it's the best

Lovely video. I agree with you totally. Being out in nature has a way of making you think - this is the right thing for me just now, I couldn't be doing anything better, healthier, more connected to my best self. I don't know if you do this already but one of things I found really beautiful was to learn a little more about the wildflowers and trees you can come across. You begin to see spots where only a certain flower blooms or in ordinary mundane places see something rare and overlooked.

This was such a lovely video! I agree with you 100% on spending time out in nature and living in the moment does help ground yourself in a way. I go on hikes often just to disconnect even if it’s only half an hour. It helps my anxiety and realizing my current stressors are not the biggest deal.
For me what makes me feel like a little kid again is camping…every detail about it. Packing what you need, loading it into the car, the drive there and the excitement you feel, driving into the campsite, figuring out where to set up on your site, etc. My favorite though is late at night having a fire, hot dogs & ‘s’mores listening to other people laughing in the distance at their sites, hearing the crickets, the moon shining through the trees, fire crackling, moving around the fire multiple times because of the smoke keeps hitting you. Every time I camp I feel like a kid again, excited to build the fire, put up the tent, make my cozy corner in the tent, tell stories, laugh, falling asleep clothes smelling of smoke. Then waking up with morning dew covering the tent, cozied up in your sleeping bag. Getting breakfast prepared and feeling so calm.
Camping is truly my favorite way to disconnect and just enjoy living in the moment. You have no service, cannot control anything other than where you are right then. It makes it easier to focus on then now rather than the past or future for me.

You are a lady of light & a child of nature. That's why you love it. It calls to you & you answer because it's home. It makes you feel alive. It makes you feel relaxed. It makes you feel safe. It makes you feel normal. It recharges you & it brings you the peace that eludes you in the ocean of modernity. There's no having to explain or justify yourself when your outside. It's just you & Mother Nature & she's always been there taking care of you & she always will be & there's a comfort in that that brings you a depth of happiness & contentment that is hard to find in anything else.

I love bushcrafting, there is a lot of ppl on youtube that record it and share it with people. But do it alone in silece where you dont even talk to anything is amazing. The sound of nature talking to you, the peace of mind, away from the daily stress, in the middle of the woods away from the walked path, not even having a tent with you. You vs Nature, basic thing with you to survive a weekend in the middle of the forest makes you feel alive. At the end getting in to your car knowing that you made it, thats an energiboost by it self. I wish that I lived in US becose of the nature that your viedo show.

When you did that panning shot of that small waterfall, the combination of the water sounds, the green and the music timing, hit me in a way I didn't expect and I nearly teared up at my desk. Thank you for sharing this. I struggle with depression and I'm often shut in, but I live in a region where decent hiking and parks are never far away. When I was younger and lived in a small town in PA about a half hour outside Philly, I would go outside all the time to this local nature preserve along the river and wander and just take in the land and the air. So this was a powerful reminder to get out some time today after work and just breathe for a bit. Maybe hit up a trail at a local park. Hobby wise, I also took up archery a couple years ago and need to hit the range again. It's been a great meditative process for me and a way to settle after long, difficult weeks. Not worrying so much about getting a bullseye, but just focusing on posture and on breathing and stretching into the draw before release.
I've been following your videos off and on for some time and have enjoyed watching you conquer Souls-likes in particular, but it's also really great to see you talking more recently about the things you enjoy outside of those, such as the state of being outside itself. Again, thank you for sharing this, it helped me remember what it means to me as well.
Also, while I never ate grass as a kid, I used to enjoy chewing on the stems of geraniums. Why? I have no idea. 😅 But it just was something I enjoyed.

That's a gorgeous area you walked in, nice paths in a pretty forest. I definitely connect to that being outdoors A LOT as a kid getting up to all kinds of stuff in surrounding forest areas and exploring, catching moths and bugs.
When I do go outside to the forest near where I live I like to just walk slow, not pick up my phone unless I want to take a picture of something I don't usually see just so I can share that with someone else. Blueberry season is coming up so I plan to just be outside in clouds of mosquitoes (unfortunately) and enjoy the rest of summer. Though I love all seasons and really like the contrast they bring, summer brings so much life so it's good to make the most out of it!
Enjoyed this video Marz, you're a well spoken lady! Cheers.

This actually made me cry, only because it resonates so much of the truth. I've gone through so much in 2024, and situations can become so blinding and clouding that the future is so hard to see. Reconnecting with the foundational values of the happy factors of like like being outside is so underappreciated, we often have to remind ourselves to tell ourselves, "just do it!", because your future smiles will thank you greatly. So, in inspiration of the great Marz, find a closed door to the rest of the world, open it, and take that step. I'm an ocean guy, so the sea is my release, and the sight of endless water. And when I frustrated and need to scream, I simply go underwater where only Ariel and King Triton can hear me and just scream it all out 😅

This is a fantastic walk! Luka would love joining you for an outdoor ramble, I imagine!
Getting outside for "green time" is grounding and brings myself out of my ruminations. It's a shift from being focused and in flow constantly, to facing outward and just noticing directly with the senses. It might be just staring out my window or sitting on my balcony for a few minutes but if it can be a nature walk, or relaxing in my mini-tent or on an outdoor blanket, or something similar. There are some majestic, rugged remote beaches near my city in New Zealand and a couple of times a year I go out with the camera there and just snap what takes my fancy, that's a more focused outdoor hobby but still is facing outward and not inward.

I'm glad that i live somewhere that there's some nature nearby for me to expose my kids to

Beautiful capture! What do I love about the outdoors? I love the sound of trees swaying in the breeze. Birds giving life to a forest with their song. The myriad of smells and colours, different every time. The warming feel of the sun catching your skin. The tiny insects you’ve never seen before. The moss that wraps around trees and branches, mushrooms. The peace. Nature always reminds me of the power of now. It grounds me. The perfect day is a picnic in a forest or a glade filled with flowers no? This is why I’m a photographer. The closer you pay attention, the better the photos. As a kid I was outside a lot, walking or biking in the woods, finding ganghuts (not sure if that is just a Scottish uk term), and generally just walking with my friends. There would be nights where we would just all walk and talk, no plans, nothing. As I grew older, friends change, separate, move away and begin a new chapter. Now when I go out side, not all the time, but quite a few times. The smell of the air, the grass, it triggers like a nostalgic feeling of going back to those times. Easier times. It revitalises my mind, and gives me butterflies from time to time. Odd I now, a smell of the outside can trigger something lost inside.

Being out in nature feels so comforting, later years it makes me feel like home in a spirutal way. Very beautiful hike you took us on. When Inon Zur the composer plays the Fallout main theme, on his grand piano in the livingroom, it seems he has similar view as you described, large windows, trees and nature right outside the windows, seems so nice.

Thx for sharing the beauty of Ohio and the importance of taking a break from every day life.
I have made it a routine to WALK every day short or longer distances to/from work and it really helps with clarity of mind! Living in a city is stressful, so making time to stop and take in the small things is really important to me. Glad i have family living in the countryside and near the mountains. 4 weeks left working, then 3 weeks with just being in the moment.

Hey Marz! Such a great video and beautiful place, Hocking Hills, OH is one of my favorite places to visit. I'm only about 1.5 hours away (I live in the Cincinnati area) but have found this local beauty is super fun and so worth the trip. Rich in history and culture. It's really nice to see this video from you that is so different from your norm. Keep it coming! Love you and your content!

I couldn't agree more with this lifestyle. We all need a balance. I love hiking and lately finding new places to go swimming. Just got a paddleboard and excited to use it soon. I love my video games too, but being outdoors is just as good if not better. We need the time for our minds to wonder and be free of so much constant stimulation that it feels like our heads our going to explode. I also would love a house with huge panel windows. My dream home would be to have an A-frame log style cabin house with big panel windows out by a nice clear lake, and also a gaming room of course :)

Thank you for the outdoor vid Marz. Hopefully there will be more of these to come.
I could never question the appeal of being outdoors. I love the outdoors. I love being outside, being around nature. It's soothing; it's relaxing. Even when I was a kid, and I hated not having any brothers or sisters, I could just spend hours outside at just about any time of year on the farm.
    Thank you again Marz.

I grew up in Vermont and not gonna lie I didn't appreciate the beauty of it here as a kid until I spent 10 years living in NYC. I realized how much being around nature eased my mind and put me at ease and I couldn't wait to move back here. And I did right before COVID hit so great timing on my end! Living in the woods during that time probably saved me and my mental health.

Oh I relate to so much you said! That's the reason for my main 2 hobbies which are playing golf and nature photography. Playing golf alowes me to be outside walking and still doing some kind of sport and when I'm out taking pictures I have the same thing as you focusing on the tiniest details of the most simple things (which made me get into photography in the first place) and a big part of my stuff involves macro. The only thing I don't have over here in the Netherlands is the gorgeous landscapes and diversity in nature you have in America... For that kind of stuff I have to go to Germany where they have a little of that.. In short; I feel you!! Great video 👍👍

Very nice! Thanks for taking us along. I love the outdoors, though it's getting harder and harder to get around these days. A derecho tore up our favorite park (and our yard), so I've mostly been reading about nature and watching from the windows. We still see deer and hear owls and there's a couple of red headed woodpeckers for the second year in a row, so we still have it pretty good. The video reminded me a bit of where we vacationed much of my life. 🐇🐿🐾🌻🐞🍁🏡📚
