People: "I'm going to train for 6 -12 months, 7 days a week, 50-100km's/day!!!!" Jake: "pffft, training?.... how hard is it to ride 1,000km's (on one of the hardest tracks in the world) over just a few weeks!!!? I've walked that distance already and that took a few months!!!" Great stuff mate :) can't wait for the rest of the series :) Cheers, Don (Dons Shed and Xplor Overland)
Holy Shrader You fellas never cease to deliver the good gear. The MB is a bucket list 🚲 trail for me. Spoked you’re letting us stowaway in Jake’s panniers.
What an adventure, I pity your arse by the end of the 1000km... Looking forward to the next episode.. Those generators always remind me of the Simpson episode where Bart had one attached to his bike... They were painful as kids, and clearly painful as adults...lol....
Didn’t think I would like this but gotta say was addicted to it. Jake , you are compulsive viewing mate. Very inspiring trip. Feel the need to watch the Bibbulmann trip. Keep it up mate
The suggestion from Jake (and I) is that you savour the munda biddi videos. The bibbulmun ones aren't nearly as watchable 😂 the camera work was not on point, however the story is good 🙂
When Jake initially showed me the bibbulmun and we talked about putting it up on this channel I was a bit skeptical but ended up quite liking it. This adventure though, I absolutely love it! I reckon everyone that follows along is gonna be hooked 😁
@@Alex.G it's the only end to end doco I'd guess you would say of the Bib. If anyone wants to see a large amount about the walk they have to watch Jakes vids.
I tried the 1st section in 2011. It seemed brutal with all the hills near Mundaring and the pea gravel, only got barely to Pickering Brook with only a day pack. I'm glad you found it difficult by the look of it. Makes me feel a bit better.
Great video. I've fallen in love with the Munda Biddi this year. I'm a bit amused at you deciding you need bike shorts by the time you reached Wungong. I'm planning to do Mundaring to Collie in a day soon, as part of a full trip. I'll definitely be wearing my bike shorts :p Kudos on the cheap bike expedition. Inspires me to see what the minimum bike I can shred along there is.
What a cool trip on basic gear. For $100 that bike was a bargain. I know it was a year ago, but padded shorts are to get rid of sweat. It’s the salt burns that kill the skin, not lack of padding. I feel your pain. Well done 🤘
Crazy only just got into hiking want to start offroading and camping me and a mate was talking about bike camping but damn respect for you. All that way.
What a cool video. I dont think there is another munda biddi trail video on youtube. Well done on filming one handed while riding over that terrain. A go pro strapped to the helmet or handle bars may of beena bit more useful and less dangerous. Seeing as jake likes solo bush stuff, he should invest in a etrex 30 navigation system, upload the track and it is accurate as fk in letting u know whether ur on the right path or not.
I dunno how he didn't drop the bike more! Unfortunately I had all the GoPros and needed them for work, just had this handheld gimbal camera I lent him 🙄 should have just spent the money and got him another gopro really! That nav system is a good idea...maybe next time he goes solo I'll kit him out with gopros AND an etrex!
A $100 bike with disc brakes ?? Also I noticed there are two thumbs down already... what kind of idiot does that ? A guy films an epic bike trip solo and people bother to give a thumbs down ..wtf ,?
Yeah only cos he got it second hand, pretty old and needing a bit of work. I think they were about $800 brand new. Yeah we expect the thumbs down, it's just an effect of putting mountain bike video in front of people who are vehicle camping enthusiasts. 🙂
Better image , much much better sound ... Perfect !!!
Thank you for that . Keep up the good work and make us dream
Excellent, well shot and funny as! Looking forward to the next episode
Landscape 😜🤙🏼. Love it, looking forward to the rest!
Loved this bike adventure! Really good to show people what they can with the bare essentials!

I've walked the Bibbulmun, but it is so great to be able to follow Jake's journey on the Munda Biddi!
Awesome work mate! Looking forward to seeing the rest of this adventure!!

rlhydn overland Hope it’s not too rough for you in there😁

Well done Jake, thanks for sharing

Bloody well filmed. Enjoyed it thoroughly. That burger bite at the end👌👌😂😂
Mate when are doing a push bike camping adventure?😄😄😄
Great job doing it on a cheapie bike. If you ever over east, the Snowy Mtns are a top spot to bikepack. Look forward to following your travels.
Gary Tischer looks like we will have to put it on our list 😁
Didn’t think I would like this but gotta say was addicted to it.

Words to live by in the bush . Never leave your gear .👍
Love this content!
Awesome, been waiting for this series.
Good work Jake, even if you are nuts. Stay safe. Cheers steve
Love it Jake! You’re inspiring me!
It's inspired me so much. I have a bike but I can't stop looking at better ones on the second hand market😁
Binge watched the shit out of the Bibbulmun walk. Now I have this. Yeeeeww

Thanks for showing that you don't need to spend a fortune on a bike to have a great adventure.. Just get out there 👍

The start of what will no doubt be an epic journey where Jake's taint slowly transforms from human flesh, to pure steel.
Looking good inspired me to contact a mate and once this rona thing goes away were going to do the Mawson trail down here in SA.
Marc Lane that’s fantastic! We are so glad to know you’re inspired!
That’s was great. 👍
Yewww! Now we are talking
Pretty cool track. Difficult to film on your own. Cheers.
Thumbs up purely for the effort put in by one individual
Crazy only just got into hiking want to start offroading and camping me and a mate was talking about bike camping but damn respect for you. All that way.
im planning on doing it with a bike that i got for $300 brand new over half a decade ago, this gives me hope

2:49 Munda Biddi translates to 'path through the forest'
Look at his hair 😍
Just wonering what solar panel and battery pack Jake is running? cheers
It's one from Goal Zero
Did u end up getting your padded pants lol 😂
I did 100ks of the Munda Biddi on a cheap kmart bike.. It literally fell apart on me haha
It's amazing how shit they are hey! I had one and the gears would go out of whack whenever i hit a bump 😄
@@Alex.G Yeah haha. How in the fuck did you go that far on a cheap bike??

Probably people who want to see just 4wding
Hahaha definitely don’t do the hard options. Bit of track side maintenance
Why didn't you use a bike mount for your camera. Love the picturesque scenery, but way to difficult and dangerous to hold the camera and ride...
It's a gimbal type camera so doesn't suit a mount
