Love the whining sound of that supercharger! Pity the owner didn't fit some decent tyres, pads and high temp brake fluid for the run! You drive amazing despite this Mr Khong, you're a champion! Love your comment at 10.32 - 'Ok guys if you cannot see, you got to drive slower' as you're doing 110km and accelerating haha! Brilliant.
Love this SSS & Mr. YS Khong's Spirited Driving ! This is how a Swift Sport needs to be driven. I have a 07' SSS MT All stock w/ BC Racing coils. Cheers Mr. Khong !
Monster/Suzuki Sport Supercharger. One of my upgrade wishlist for my Swift Sport ZC31S. As for now I'm using it fully stock as a daily car to work. Factory suspension a bit hard but never get tired on how fun it is. Great driving, Mr Khong!
NEED COILOVERS AND NEW TYRES AND NEEDS TO BE LOWERED!!!! but great drive nonetheless! so happy to see a car I have show up on this channel! I mean it's bound to happen.
I owned 2 of these Swifts before and this one you're driving seems like a very well preserved model with no messy modifications, pretty clean and well kept interior and exterior. I think having a supercharger and not having a tune is a little bit of a waste but to each his own. Its just a pity you did not have a full experience due to the old tires and brakes. I mean seriously you can keep a car stock and preserve it but these things need to be changed! 3 year old tires are not safe, let alone to go hard on Genting (especially at 19:18). A simple brake rotor and pad upgrade wouldnt hurt either for much improved braking performance compared to 10+ year old brakes. Such a pity to have these overlooked areas on an otherwise well preserved unit.
I love how the passenger is gripping the seat and looks in fear for his life. Khong: "Proceed with caution!" Haha, something about your energy is infectious!
Such a nice supercharger whine. These zc31s are holding up value so well. Good for owners and flippers but not good for people who wish to get on board SSS experience..
Oh and I have a 92 swift GT-i and the first thing I did was Nissan 240sx slotted rotors and civic SI calipers along with other supporting brake upgrades. Sway bar and control bushings and coils. It holds corners harder than I can drive it lol!!
18:15 dear god i have gone through that moment before when you tried to turn but your tyres just said "hmm...how about no?"... Really caught me off guard.
Hello Sir YS Khong, I know this is quite a lot to ask but can you make a video where you looked back at all your past video and tell us which car is your top 10. Would be great for us as a viewer and dreamer. Thanks in advance from fellow car enthusiast
I wonder what absorbers and tyres were on the Swift Sport? May not be totally stock condition as the original Monroe absorbers were very hard to get in Malaysia, unless they were half cut condition which could had been worn out when installed. Thanks for video Uncle YS. I own one Swift Sport manual as well, original non convert. Fun to drive daily so long it is not in a traffic situation.
This little pocket rocket is really fun to drive (born thru rallying experience). Due to its high compression engine, it only accepts Ron 98 as per brochure (if I'm not mistaken). So its either Ron 97, Shell Racing or Blaze 100. Looking at that current fuel pricing is a little bit worrying, but nevertheless nothing can stop a real "petrol head"
Is it normal for my 1.4 glx stock? I used to use 97 since i bought the new car, the power is nice especially accelerate from 80 - 100 with OD off. And sadly, the 97 price hiked and i changed to 95. After i using 95, the car is reluctant to accelerate, and it is noticeable... should i get back to 97? lol
@@cyengify Use Ron 95 but you can add on fuel booster for every tank full of petrol. Saw it on you tube or something similar, hope it will work. Cheers!
Yes, 98 is the recommended - bought one recently and I think it had been on 95/96 with the previous owner, as using 98 definitely made a difference - it was bought as a run-around, and I didn't give the octane the slightest thought, but kinda wish I did because it's more expensive and not that available here (NZ).
Looking at Uncle Khong's driving is as exciting as usual but there are 2 other things that caught my attention... 1. Those people doing illegal, dangerous u-turn to go back downhill 2. The visibility is really bad due to the mist...
Thanks for supporting our little channel. Your points are noted; we have to be very careful at all times, and I always have plenty in reserve when driving on the road. We have to expect others to make mistakes, and make adjustments to our own course. As for visibility, one has to drive according to how well one can see. In misty conditions, one should also turn on lights or fog lights, more for others to see you rather than to see.
I still think my former swift gti 1.3 have better fun factor than the swift sport. I used to beat lots of car twice the engine size with this nimble pocket rocket.
Yup that’s a SSS characteristic when braking on the limit, the rear steps out, perhaps have to tap the brakes lightly and let the tyres scrub off the speed using more of the road? but then have to trust your tyres 😅
Just curious, what is the procedure of doing the rev match correctly? Cause im still wondering, which bit starts first(the downshifting or press the gas a little bit) *or is it at the same time?
@@YSKhongDriving i really hope you do Sir YS, i am looking forward to the day I see you behind the wheel of that wonderful machine putting it through its paces.😁
Hahaha, you need to add another 30 hp to the Persona. The Persona is quite a good car too. If you are talking about the older one, it has independent suspension all round, a copy of the EVO2 -4 build.
@@YSKhongDriving it's the VVT version. stock except tires replaced to PS3. Mine is currently stock, and I really should keep it that way as i have other toys - but a screw supercharger does take my interest. Who makes it and how much? As an aside, is the later 6 speed a viable swap to replace the 5?
@@YSKhongDriving Depends on what one wants from the vehicle - the next model, and latest, have other issues I don't like, like hatch access - and it's just a run-around I'd like a bit more mid-range from so there's less rpm needed for progress. From standstill, it is always wise to have your foot on the brake when engaging gears, so that you do not shoot forward. It should not damage the gearbox, if you are standing still. However your brother should learn how to operate the car safely, and not having his foot on the brake when engaging the gear from stationary is potentially dangerous.

Actually the owner takes good care of this car. It just happens the MCO meant the car did not move for about 2 years, and the tyres were not changed.

Wow the fog towards the end of the first section - that's some hill climb, and a cool little Suzuki!

Yes, uphill in a FWD car will mean lots of under-steer. Down hill you will have to be careful because you will have off throttle over-steer.
