Back in the 1980s I had a VIP all access pass to the summer nationals drag race at Englishtown NJ. Clarence was also a guest. I spotted him and approached him for an autograph. I walked up and I said hey aren't you and from underneath his wide brim hat he put his index finger to his lips shaking his head. He took my pen, signed an autograph, shook my hand, said you're cool, and walked away. I thought that was totally awesome.
