Paul Lim is definitely a dart player that can be on the level of Phil Taylor. I love watching these matches cause both players are so consistent and very good at darts! Respect for both of them!!!
he's a legend for hitting the first ever world championship 9 darter, also for playing the game since the 80's and still going pretty good at age 61. its not always the winning games that make one a legend.
the fact that an asian hasn't won a major tournament only makes the games more exciting cause seeing an english, dutch or a scot player win everything is just not right, its boring and repetitive.
***** Smaller pool of players. Let's be honest, darts isn't a huge draw for Asian countries. Once upon a time, the US DOMINATED golf. The LPGA is now DOMINATED by Asians. The PGA has a nice representation too. Not to mention that Tiger is partially Thai/Chinese. Actually Tiger is quite a mix, but so are we all ;-)

The majority are still farmers trying to transition to the Free World. Those that have transitioned are beginning to thrive. Sooner or later, they WILL rule the world....and I have no problem with that at all! Why? Because there are other continents that I find LACKING for many, many reasons. You point to today. I point to tomorrow ;-) PS: I am a Caucasian US citizen. PPS: I believe UK introduced Cricket to the world. That's great! Care to examine the best cricket teams ever assembled?

strategy, phil throws after paul, as a second person to throw you never want to follow and close the board, if the first person does not make a mistake he wins first. I guess that's why. or else he is just confident
