You sir are a hero - I spent the last 10 minutes looking for this show on every streaming service and nothing - then I looked on RUclips and found this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart
What a fantastic first episode. It's just a huge series of gag setups that all pay off right at the end in the best possible ways to establish the relationships between the characters. Absolutely stellar writing here. Not a line wasted
Probably one of my favorite sitcoms of all time, I can’t think of any moments where I didn’t laugh hysterically in any of the episodes. A comedic classic.

Vincent O Driscoll unfortunately the P. c.’s have taken everyone’s fun away so it wouldn’t be allowed in this day and age but be honoured to have watched what they were allowed to show and obviously the repeated ones here on RUclips
Unfortunately, the creator and actor that plays Bernard, Dylan Moran has pretty much hated any ideas about making a continuation and has said that he never wants to do a studio sitcom again.
@@Materminds187 That’s what you should do though, make the best stuff and then leave it. No disrespect to other sitcoms (Red Dwarf is one of my personal favs, Only Fools is obviously iconic) but because they went on so long they undeniably had their rough patches.
This is such a good first episode to the show. It's got multiple plots which set up the characters brilliantly and it's very very good "Which one of you bitches, wants to dance?"
this got me through some really weird time during my life; i still hear the intro music and feel the chills. Great show, one of the bests. British comedy at it best
I've re-watched this loads over the years, but came back this time after hearing Tommy Tiernan talk about how much of a genius comedian Dylan is on RHLSTP. One of my all time favourite series.

Black Books is the absolute best sitcom of all time. My brothers and I still use quotes from this in conversation whenever applicable. I am glad the series ended when it did. Its perfect. Some shows get new seasons years later and it just never is the same.
I always enjoyed this show, it reminds me of a terrible Photographic shop I once worked in and hated. Whatever happened to these people? Apart from Bill obviously.

It's on channel 4
Ahoy matey, have ye heard of _The Bay_ ?
black books, IT crowd, and father ted all have amazing theme songs. this might be the best though
Probably one of the most underrated sitcoms ever!
Have you seen Bored To Death?
Yes, it saved me from being Bored to Death@@devodavis6747
I used to binge-rewatch this show in highschool/college after I realised people suck and I hate everyone and I swear it never gets old
Is it underrated? By whom?
i think your post is underrated. because i love it
I love that this show is somehow both depressed and campy at the same time, it's perfection.

Bill & Dylan are actual geniuses and this show is beyond brilliant.
Sounds like a comedy duo in its own right. They're full of panache & charisma.

He was in Father Ted. If you havent watched that you havent lived.

Indeed, such a talented man, Dylan Moran, to do all that on his lonesome
I thought it was a documentary
When I watched this originally, I didn't know Bill Baily or Martin Freeman, was so amazing seeing both in the show.
I received my copy of The Little Book of Calm in the mail today and I plan on using it for self reflection and making funny mix ups. :D
