As a left guard, McCormack called protections for several games last year, so he's VERY center capable.

I saw his film! He loves to dominate by throwing the defenders to the ground, AND THEN DIVING ONTO THEM WHILE THEY LAY ON THE TURF ASSERTING FULL DOMINANCE! GREAT PICK

Echoing others, good coverage Matt, appreciate you giving us your personal view after each round . Looks like a pretty solid draft class for sure, got the 6th Tackle off the board in a highly rated T class, perhaps slipped due to two injuries on the medical that concerned others, who knows, or other teams just liked the other 5 tackles better, TWT? They got the 3rd best Center in the draft, clearly ranked behind (I don't listen to folks saying Frazier was better than the other two guys, homer stuff) the Duke and Oregon guys but still fortunate to get him at 51 due to our depth chart at that position. Michigan WR pick seems solid, thought they might double down there on there 2nd 3rd round pick but they went with the NC LB who just seems AWESOME and now I have to pray (football pray, not religious pray :)) that not having an ACL is no biggie, I'm no doctor so seems ok if Steeler doctors say ok....Love the South Dakota pick, our current guards are very good but also aging every day, aren't we all, and contracts coming up at varying times.. Lee from Iowa is super interesting to me and the last pick seems solid, CB from Texas.... We will see, nobody knows how it will turn out, but, again, seems pretty darn solid to me, a guy who knows nothing :)

It seems like a very good draft through the first 4 rounds from a talent and 25 cap perspective. McCormick is the backup C option and potentially a future starting G. There will be difficult cap decisions after this year, and he prevents them from being forced to overspend on the OL.
I'm a bit surprised at the 6th rd selections. I expected Boyd over Lee, and with the better slot CB options gone? I would have gambled with a WR over Watts, but when you're down to nitpicking 6th rd selections in a weak end of the draft? It's a good place to be in.

Matt, how poosible/beneficial would a trade with the Titans be when you look at their need at LT with Latham at RT, would D. Moore for T. Burks or N. Westbrook-Ikhine be somethin that fits and makes sense both ways? They're both 6'2" with pos flexibility inside and out. How good of a fit would they be for our #2WR need? I think A. Smith was still in Ten for W-I's rookie season. Thanks for any thoughts and great job covering the draft.

I think McCormick might be a succession plan to replace Daniels next year if they dont resign him. Gonna be needing to spend some QB money next year too.

I still don’t think Trice is going to make an impact this year , he’s been rehabbing , not training and making his skills better . He’s still a project , there’s a big difference between rehabbing and training . If he’s lucky he might play some dime , but not betting on it

I think Mccormick is here to learn and then replace James Daniels after this yr . I don't think they resign Daniels unless MCCORMICK seems to struggle. I think herbig stays least til maybe trade deadline .
