No other band out there is quite like the sonic experience of Opeth. Many people don't GET IT. It helps that you are a musician. I am one too and the arrangements, interesting chords, and textures quickly sucked me into their orbit and I've been orbiting for more than a decade now. I sometimes refer to their songs as a 5 course meal. For your appetizer we serve you this part, now for the next dish try this, and so on. It paints great sonic visions in the mind and tells stories as well.
I would like to thank whoever requested this song, I know some opeth fans don't like the album "heritage" and onwards, I always embrace new styles, and love where opeth went, doesn't mean I can't still love the rest of their material, same with a7x, I liked them from the beginning. seems some people just want a certain sound and aren't really in love with music . (:
You got yourself a new subscriber! This is by far my favourite Opeth's song. I usually jump out of my chair at that part too, this song got the best of everything opeth did, the heavy riffs in the middle are quite unique, the clean soothing vocals, that acoustic riff near the end .. and the lyrics can be interpreted in so many ways, they even used reversed satanic lyrics just because they can! Thank you for the video, much love from Beirut
This song is certainly my absolute fav from Opeth, with Faith in Others and Ghost of Perdition. Such a collection of amaaaaaaazing riffs, sound is pure gold, musicianship is stellar........Love love love Opeth !! On my YT channel, I did a full cover of Ghost of Perdition, if you're interested ;)
Huge Opeth fan here, and i'm loving your reactions. Can i suggest my favorites? I think you'll love it: Universal Truth, The Moor, Faith In Others (this one i think will make you cry).
Joe, you're missing out if you haven't heard Heir Apparent from the same album. Very very good indeed, and the outro to that song is probably one of my favorite outros, very inspirational. Cheers!
I can’t really come up with a bad Opeth song but both the Watershed and Ghost Reveries album are amaaaazing. You can’t really go wrong with anything there. :) A lot of their new prog rock stuff is fantastic also. I’d recommend ”I feel the Dark” from the Heritage album. Peace! 🌞✨
FNM! Love them. But havent heard that in years. Is there similarities? I haven't listen to The Real thing for a long time. Think King for a Day is still my fav.
Being a musician myself, and a Opeth fan for over 20 years, their writing style has affected me greatly. Their last couple of albums though has almost lost me as a fan. Watershed in my opinion was the last 6/6 album for me.
I love watching people spiraling into newfound Opeth obsessions :>
Hey Notch, I am obsessed, that is for sure.
All it takes is one of their songs to catch your attention and you're forever trapped.
Took me a day and a bit of listening to Opeth before realising they were the best band I'd ever heard
Happened to me just like this. Then I got to party w the band in Vegas at mandala bay and see them do a show for only 500 people. It was glorious!!
6:17 Opeth: Nobody Sleeps through my music!! LOL
The bass line just before, SOS right?
i do, they put me to sleep every night 🎶😴

Good point. Musician and Opeth-fan for 20+ years.
Once again, thank you! Still here watching your Opeth journey - and I will continue to do so. Cheers mate!
Appreciate that, thank you!
Yep. Most youtubers react to a couple of songs at best. Opeth is so much more....
I listen to opeth every single day
By the pain I see in others by Opeth is a masterpiece as well.
It is one of the greatest songs ever written.
I wonder how much he'd like Lotus Eater from this album.
On my list, doing soon.
I came from RUSH being the best band I’d ever heard. I’m rethinking this daily
6:39 So good that you needed to stand up and rock out. \m/\m/

I am planning on "I Feel The Dark". Want to do at least something from each record.
Grande chanson et grand album, superbe...
Nice!. Still waiting for Baying of the hounds!.
Very soon, I promise it's coming!
Carlos Millar and not to forget harlequin forest
Yours are one of the most genuine reactions I've seen. It makes me happy when people get into opeth. Would you be doing Deliverance soon?
Kahan se?
🔥Opeth🔥
Watershed. Maybe, just maybe, the best album recorded in history by any band. Btw: you look like the nicer brother of Louis C.K. :D
I love how he gets up XD This song does that :D
check out Soen lucidity. ex drummer of opeth plays in that band great prog stuff
I love Soen.
Check out isolation years if you’d like a short one. Try the lyric video
Sounds good to me.
Try with Ghost Reveries or Damnation album, you will not get disappointed
I'll be getting to some of that soon
please i'am a brazillian fan of your reactions. Pls react "Wreath" Opeth... Obrigado
Listen to Heir Apparent, probably their most violent song.
Great song
Do some early Opeth from the first three albums
I am doing April Ethereal at some point.
Also check out In mist she was standing, the twilight is my robe, advent, night and the silent water. All great underrated songs.
Bra broder men glöm inte Harlequin forest 👍🏻
This week, I will do Harlequin Forest!
Sonically Disruptive 😁👍🏻
Be careful, Opeth is adictive
To late, already am!
Very.
Behemoth - O Father O Satan O Son
I could listen to Behemoth. Haven't listened to them before. I'll add it.
Woodpecker From Mars! Like if you get it!
FNM! Love them. But havent heard that in years. Is there similarities? I haven't listen to The Real thing for a long time. Think King for a Day is still my fav.
