When it is cold outside, we don't say: Se on kylmä. Instead we just say: (Ulkona) on kylmä.

More beautiful every Day ☺️
Greetings from Puumala
tämä oppitunti on hyvä!
Kiitos!
Kiitos for this video👏👏🥰. I want to ask there is Ne on, which is correct to say? Ne ovat or Ne on? They are beautiful and comfortable. Ne ovat kaunis ja mukava? Or Ne on kauniit ja mukavia? I'm a beginner in finnish and watching your videos help me a lot. Kiitos❤
Well ne is plural so the correct way to say it would be: ne ovat. Because ovat is the plural form. However you will sometimes hear people say “ne on” in spoken Finnish but technically that’s incorrect grammar 😅
Tänä kesänä on kuuma🔥
Okay, so this is a bit random ... but it just occurred to me that if the Finnish for cold is kylmä and the Finnish for hot is kuuma, what letters are on the taps in Finland? Or maybe what DID they have until taps became mixer taps? In the UK non-mixer separate taps are still common - something some US friends were amazed by 😄.
Yes I lived in the UK and found it hard to get used to the separate taps 😂 I can’t rememeber seeing separate taps here ever but I think for mixer taps with two knob things they just have the color blue and red to indicate cold and hot and ive maybe seen the English letters C and H sometimes too.

🤔 why « se on hyvää » need partitive case and not « se on kylmä »?
exception
You use the partitive when talking about food. So if the food is cold you’d say “se on kylmää” :)
@@KatChatsFinnish 💡😀! 🙏🏻
@@KatChatsFinnish oh my gosh now i get that. I was struggling with omena and another word that did not require the partitive. I think i am starting to get it.
@@jcpana060959 Sounds great! If you have a whole apple, which is cold, then you can say *Omena on kylmä* . There is one apple, which is a countable object, so you use nominative. But if you smash that apple, it is not countable object but substance, and you can say *Omena on kylmää* with partitive.
Could the word "se" be omitted in any of these examples?
If you are talking about cold weather you could say "on kylmä", otherwise I personally wouldn't
Moi ! What is the difference between leffa and elokuva ?
Kiitos paljon !
There's no difference other than leffa being more puhekieli and elokuva being kirjakieli
I guess leffa mean Film
And elokuva mean movie
@@stinkyboy You've got the best RUclips handle I've seen in a while!
@@bigscarysteve why thank you, big scary steve
i think leffa comes from Swedish language and has been there after living pictures arrived somewhere 1910 but as it is easy to say many Finnish speakers use it too.
Moi. I have question... I noticed you used the word mä haluun, what's the difference between mä haluan? Kiitos.
No difference. Puhekieli = mä haluun, kirjakieli = minä haluan
@@KatChatsFinnish ah nyt ymmärään.kiitos
How can you say "When life hands you Berries make Cobbler"?
"kun elämä antaa sulle marjoja, tee piirakkaa" - I'm not sure what a cobbler would be so I said pie xD
