Such a helpful video. Our diverter really needed a new rubber gasket, but the one in the new Danco package was not thick enough. I hacked the problem by cutting off the lip of the old one & inserting it first, to give more height. It's still a little too thick, so I'll be on the look out for a slightly thinner one in my home-supply. Really appreciate the step-by-step. I enlisted the help of my 20-year-old son, who enjoyed learning the ins & outs of the project. He hasn't had much experience in the fix-it arena, so this was great! CRAP! Your video was so helpful. Bought the parts on Amazon (super cheap, for once!). Your instructions were perfect! Got the old unit pulled off, parts came in, got everything ready to go. Even followed your practice of sanding down the surface to make the slider work better. Got my tape ready to reinstall the spout and BAM... Stripped it. One turn too many. Seems while the spout itself is solid, the parts inside are cheap plastic and snapped like a twig. Back to Amazon to buy a spout. Rinse, repeat... But, your steps and video were super helpful. Normally this would have cost me a visit from a plumber, so thank you Sir!! 👍👍
YAY! i’m grateful to have found this diy video (it was third on the scroll down) the dude is pleasant, thorough and comprehendable (i’m so confident now, i’m making up words!) thank you, dude! YOU are awesome!

Thank you Sir , you saved my bacon today. My Wife went to pull on the shower diverter and it fell apart on her. We live in an apartment complex so putting in an order is sometimes a pain in the butt. Thanks again!
Nice step by step info on how tho make the repair! awesome video! nice job! I just got done replacing a timing belt on my 2009 pt cruiser the other day, what a pain but she runs as good as new, it's always great if you can do the repairs yourself, you will save $$ and more than likely do a better job than the repair man, thanks for sharing brother!
thank you thank you! I've been using a leg razor and shoving it up into the gate!! lol finally just watched your video and decided to do what you did. thank you again!
I like your approach. Repairing just what was broken. Cleaning the pipe with CLR. Here are the steps I needed to take to actually make it fit. Here is the step I would not repeat. And some fun with video editing and graphics! That last bit was funny... Liked, Commented, Subscribed, Shared.
We got a repair kit for a Moen tub diverter and as in your video the two plastic legs were much shorter than the original one.. This allowed the diverter switching device to slip out of position causing it to jamb and not work as it should. Ours was like the original one you replaced, the one with the longer legs. Also the switching device was slightly shorter on the new kit so we returned it. I think cleaning and lubricating as you did and perhaps a new rubber washer would do the job if you can find one. I couldn't so we are contacting the company since I think Moen has a lifetime warranty. Thanks for demonstrating the steps necessary to get this repair done.
@@roundedrob1483 Thank you for your speedy reply. The rubber washer from the kit we purchased may have fit the original but I didn't try it. Think the kit cost around $10. Just figured there may have been another kit that would have fit it correctly but couldn't locate one. There should be somewhere you can get just the rubber washer though. I called Moen but I'd have to wait for a week since they said they are experiencing an unusual amount of calls..It seems it is just a tactic to discourage folks from inquiring about the warranty. We have our original receipts from when we bought the Moen tub and shower set. Thanks again.
This little ruclips.net/user/postUgkxVoi3B4CB6Oygq1-vo4OTL1M_M5JkrXif tub works perfect in our 6 x 6 shower and is easy to get in and out. Also easy to drain.
Thank you for posting this video as I just moved into this house in the mountains and there's a lot of minerals here and I had to use CLR in the toilet so I'm thinking in this 28-year-old house I know that the owner was not good about cleaning things and I suspect the tub spigot could be clogged up and corroded. I pulled a little knob up and half the hot water is going down the drain! And my son put a brand new shower head on because before we moved in some vagabonds came in here and stole our bathroom fixtures like the shower head and the medicine cabinet and they didn't touch the faucet though. For all I know they may have tried to. I'm going to remove the shower spigot and see if there's corroded parts which I know that the nice new looking faucet in the kitchen already had a completely rusted out aerator. Thank you very much. And here I thought I was going to have to get into the wall or something. This looks fairly easy.
Glad I was able to help, hope all is well. Sometimes you might be put a position to replace bad parts. The nice thing is you know how they work and operate.
Freank'n awesome brother! I live in an apartment, and this ***** pulled apart when I started to take my shower, and my girl has to work tonight, she's wanting to cuss me because you know how showers and hair go!! She wants her shower!! I watched your video, and put this thing back together for the moment, seal is good the tip must have stripped out. But, it's working until maintenance can get here to replace with a new one... Thanks for the help!!!
Thank you so much!!!! I fixed without removing the spout (I couldn't get it off). Lots of water still coming out of the spout, I'm guessing that's because I wasn't able to put on new Teflon tape? At least I can take a shower - THANK YOU!!!!
Glad to hear you can take a shower now. I think water is coming out because the gate and washer is not closing all the way. That's why I had to sand it down a little bit. So the gate could travel up all the way.

Hi Cheri I'm super stoked you were able to get it fixed. You are very welcome have a great day.
I hate when good plan gets sideways. So how did the recovery go?
YAY! i’m grateful to have found this diy video (it was third on the scroll down) the dude is pleasant, thorough and comprehendable (i’m so confident now, i’m making up words!) thank you, dude! YOU are awesome!
Thanks for the kind words. I'm grateful to help build up your confidence to make the repair!
Love videos that show a little finessing that mean the difference between success and failure!
Sometimes adjustments need to be made instead of just giving up. Glad your application was a success.
Once again, as soon as my husband left to go hunting, something fell apart. I got tired of waiting for him to get home for such things, so I do my best to have things fixed when he comes home. Your video helped tremendously!!! Thx for helping me fix this, excellent explanation and so very helpful!!
Glad I could help you out!! I'm sure he will be thankful and proud of you! To handle things while has was gone! Great job I'm proud of you!
@@roundedrob1483 Thank you Rob! So nice of you to reply. I admit, I'm proud of myself too. 😉 Thank you!!!!
@@jennifertrojan49 Your Welcome!
Thank you. Just broke mine a couple of hours ago and i was major pissed. Normally i hate when people ask to like and subscribe, but all the subscribe words coming out with the applause in the background sold me. I subbed. 😁
Your welcome, glad to see your part of the channel.
Excellent video. Short, concise right to the point, hit the high points. I'm pretty handy, but I've never had to do this. Thanks my dude!
No problem, I do my best, to make my video's informative and as short as possible. Sometimes it's hard to do that when having to offer important information. Thanks for the kind words and being part of the channel!!
This video was so helpful! It was clear and straight to the point. Thank you so much, Rounded Bob !!!!!!
Your welcome!!!!!
Thanks much for showing all the stuff! Was able to fix our downstairs shower in minutes. GREAT video!!
Your welcome.
Thank you Sir , you saved my bacon today. My Wife went to pull on the shower diverter and it fell apart on her. We live in an apartment complex so putting in an order is sometimes a pain in the butt. Thanks again!
She wasn't very happy was she? Well at least you can save the day!!
U a life saver never would have figured out where it goes
No problem, thanks for the kind words.
My father in law fixed the last one before I could finish watching this vid but now it’s happened again and I’m on my own lol so thank you 🙏
No problem your welcome.
This was an easy-to-follow video. After fixing my diverter once, if I ever had to do this again it would take me about 5-10 minutes, tops.
Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad I was able to assist you! Hopefully, you will not have to do it again.
Handyman, was a no-show i was really desperate. it helped me out a lot thanks man
You are totally welcome, glad you were able to fix it.
Thank you so much ours broke this morning I’m actually on my way to get the part now appreciate your video appreciate you
Your welcome! How's it working?
Nice step by step info on how tho make the repair! awesome video! nice job! I just got done replacing a timing belt on my 2009 pt cruiser the other day, what a pain but she runs as good as new, it's always great if you can do the repairs yourself, you will save $$ and more than likely do a better job than the repair man, thanks for sharing brother!
thank you thank you! I've been using a leg razor and shoving it up into the gate!! lol finally just watched your video and decided to do what you did. thank you again!
A leg razor! That was a pretty smart idea to get you bye. Your very welcome. 😁
Rob, glad to help and thank you for being part of the channel.
Not so big of a job after all. Your video helped this single momma! Thank you!!!
Hi Mary glad to help, wish you the best of good times to come.

Rounded Rob your Round of Applause is classic and a job well done Sir💪👍
Thanks for the positive feedback! I'm glad to help!
Used the DRACO kit found on an end-cap at Home Depot. Worked just as advertised. Thanks for sharing .
E Larson, your welcome glad it worked out for you. Have a good one.
Excellent video - easy to follow & understand. Great little tips along the way like sanding the gate to fit with precision. Thank you!
C R your Welcome glad to help.
Luvkountry your welcome. Did the washer from the kit fit inside your old gate?
Excellent!!
Thank you so so much for sharing this, You are a life saver for my shower and my anxiety!!
You welcome Jay, take care.

Yes Sirrr thanks for your advice ,, I fixed that in no time ,,, and saved money on calling a plumber... Great video
Thank you and your welcome. It's always nice to save some money.
Thanks!! Your step by step was super simple to follow and got it done correctly!!
That's great news, congrats on the success.
thanks! this is exactly what I was looking for. I appreciate the upload to help an every day Joe like me fix his tub faucet
Your welcome and take care.
Love comments like this, instead of cussing you out she's thinking you're the man.
Good stuff, I was able to fix mine because of your knowledge. Thank you so very very much!!!
Your very very welcome!
Great job on video! Enjoyed the applause, fix it guys . . . eerr, people need to hear that!!
Thank you!

Keith your welcome brother glad it helped.
Thanks Brother. First DIY, and this helped me. About to head to Lowes.
It's your first and probably not your last! Glad I could help!
LOVE it and your editing is a winner😁😀 applause👍👍
Thank you for your kind words. Have a wonderful Christmas.
@@roundedrob1483 thx. you too
Thank you so much!!!!
Excellent video! I fixed my tub spout. Thank you very much!!!!
Your welcome, glad to hear everything went well.
YOU ARE A shower saver! I was thinking about demoing the entire building. 😂😂😂 jk. but seriously I couldn’t figure it out on my own and you made it look so freaking easy.
🤣🤣🤣 I understand that feeling! Glad I could help!
Fantastic, exactly what I needed & your instructions (didn’t need to trim new piece) were spot on & had it replaced & working perfectly! Thank you for your video😀
Your welcome Lucky you, not having to trim the new piece. Glad to hear everything went well.
THANK YOU SO MUCH. ROCKSTAR. All the applause deserved
Your welcome my pleasure!
Thanks bud, appreciate the clear views and solid advice.
