What exactly is “secret” about this item??
I have a brand X USB adapter for my Makita CXT 12 volt system with a flash light, too, and with a 12v. "wall wart" I can also change the battery with wall current.

Thanks so much. how many times can you charge an iPhone with the 6 amp battery. Maybe twice, 3 or 4 times?
I only have the 5AH batteries and I use a Samsung phone, so it may not be the same for and iPhone, but I was able to charge my phone every night and use it at work every day for 10 days. I was impressed.

Amazon has a knockoff that has a flashlight. It's a few bucks cheaper too.

When I made this video, there was almost no advertising for this charger adapter. If you get a full line catalog for almost any big power tool manufacturer, they have lots of items that most stores will never carry so most people will never see. That's all.

Jonny Iles Any charger made for RC modells that can charge 5s will do the job. You don’t get balancing but it’s not needed all the time.

@@jonnyiles4665 You can get a boost converter with constant current output set to something like 500mA @21V, which would work well on a 2.4A charger. I did that for my Dyson Vaccum, as it was hard to find a charger for 6 cells and I wanted to be able to charge it on the car. It's the same plug as the old Dell laptopn charger.
As a matter of fact with one such converter you can charge from 5V or 12V, depending on what you have available. 12V on the car will be faster that 5V from a power bank / usb socket.
For the casing you need an old drill / charger or you can 3D print one.
Nobody need this, because 5000mAh power bank is way smaller and pocket friendly on good price. I think this is the reason the shops try to sell out somehow. Not nessecery stuff I believe.

Can I plug the usb into my van 12v charge port? Then clip it on to my 18v Mikita battery so I’m charging my drill battery while I’m driving? Can’t find anything on doing this without buying an inverter 🤦🏻♂️ someone MUST of figured this out surely 😫
No, this is not a charger
Doesn't have BMS for balancing batteries in series. It WILL damage your battery pack.
It charges the phone not the makita battery. You don't balance when you use your power tools either.

Why would the consumer, in this case the charger, have a balancing functionality on the load side?
What battery would this charger ruin? This device gives 5v to the USB not 20V to the battery
Yes, i have opened several batteries from several suppliers. Some might have balancing on the bms but some definitely don’t.
I just ordered one and gonna try to hack it to make an adapter for an old cordless drill so i can use the new lithium battery

Probably because it is very very old battery. Some of the very first 18v batteries had that teal color.
Pasinen is correct, I got those batteries back in 2008 and have used them ever since without any noticeable drop in capacity.
