The medical community needs to find a better way than biopsy. I’m terrified of it. I had 4.6 PSA in October, then 6.5 in December then 5.0 last week. I feel ok, no urinary issues. My family history is my father and brother had high PSA levels, they had biopsies and they did NOT have any cancer. I’m not getting a biopsy until my PSA goes uo substantially. I’m 68 years old and my dad is 92.

      I totally agree!!
      Look into MyProstatescore 2.0
Its a urine test. A better test to see if there's the probability of prostate cancer.
If it comes back low risk. No need for a biopsy.
I just found this out from my research. I'm 66. Just been diagnosed with possible prostate cancer. I have 3 small lesions within the prostate itself, according to MRI.
Urologist is pushing me to get a biopsy🤔
If my Urine PSASCORE test, comes back low risk. Im not doing the biopsy....

I would have to think that a needle biopsy risks spreading cancer out of the capsule. I would be very leery of a biopsy. In this day and age we have 3T MRI and that can detect cancer in the prostate. It is a much safer way to detect PC and will tell if a biopsy is even needed. No ONE should have a saturation biopsy and it isn't needed if a high resolution MRI is done. Be good to yourself and ask your doctor about the 3T MRI. It is now being used in England as a precursor to biopsy, so why isn't it being done here?

Why does the term “witchcraft”, rather than “science” come to mind?

Because he offered no justifications for his rationale and used the word "feel" instead of "think".

What about MRI screening or cat scan. ??..my PSA is over 10 and I have no issues or symptoms..I'm not going for biopsy unless a serious problem presents itself

Doc, First, thank you for your informative videos - your explanations are helpful. I would like to hear in the future more about the latest recommendations regarding PSA, biopsies and treatment. Also I'd like to hear about risk percentages - ie. explaining some of the studies and putting them in layman terms. And lastly, I'd like to hear about any other risks of biopsy, particularly the potential to un-encapsulate any cancer and risk to spreading it (any studies like breast cancer studies).

I'm sorry you went through that, and thank you for the warning. The more research I do, the more I'm thinking this whole PSA-Biopsy-Cancer thing is a scam much like the Military Industrial Complex and is structured also to make money at the expense of people's lives. All the best to you sir!

@@alecfoster5542 biopsy seems to be next step after high PSA numbers and DRE .It is similar to throwing darts at a board whilst blindfolded if MRI is not done first to locate potential problem areas. My main complaint is it is very painful, don’t let anyone convince you otherwise, also has high incidence of UTI and other infections with procedure .Like all procedures men’s modesty is never taken into account, very young girls in room with me as I was naked below waist, this would never occur with women getting intimate procedures done
