I do enjoy newer openings, but only a few really hit me in the same way older ones do. I'd say 2013 is when openings started getting generically likeable. not bad but just okay.
Also the shadow layer that follows the animation. This is something i miss from early 2000s animes that i feel animes from 2013 or something lacks a little off. It had that edge and details in it that legit made it so captivating
I agree. But at the same time, the anime had many issues, like no dragon character except Chibi had personality. Not even Maiko's and Daisuke's, yet they were main characters. Oh, and... Rinrin.
Fun fact this was literally the first ever manga I read when I was about 9 because I just found it in my local library one day and I just found out it had an anime a week ago (still haven't watched yet but Chibi is still adorable)

If you want a solid storyline, then you better pass this one. lol I mean, it's better than Pokemon that basically has no coherent storyline, but it's far, FAR behind Digimon Adventure, for example. It's kinda messy and gimmicky, the animation isn't the best either, the CG they used for the dragons wasn't great even back then, now it has just aged beyond repair. I really like the couple first and the last episode though. xD
