@@thegamingzone1956 Yes he was but, at first, if you'll observe, actually, Light started with a aim to eliminate all the criminals, because of that the Police came after him and he wanted to escape every situation involved with Kira and the Police, so he had to kill Naomi Misora because she had some evidence for the Police, and he also killed Kiyomi Takada. By doing this, Light got influenced by his own actions and to escape the Police, he tried to kill many innocent citizens and also killed many of them.

I've watched Death Note around 3 times through and have some if the manga collected. But, for some reason something in me always tells me to rewatch it. I guess that is a sign of a masterpiece. I only get this way with this show and Attack on Titan

You know L basically had Kira dead to rights in the first few episodes. He could have convicted Light right then and there. The only thing he didn't really understand was the supernatural power of the Death Note. That ability went against his logic and his curiosity got the best of him. But the scene where he massages Light's feet is a straight up reference to Jesus washing his enemy's feet before he was crucified. L knew he was going to die at that point, even though he still had plans set in motion to capture. He just couldn't compete with the Death Note and he knew it. At that point he accepted his lack of grasp and decided to do something simple to humble his enemy. RIP L.

I Kina feel bad for Light as he lost his way with the Death Note and was blinded by his desire for justices that he lost sight of true justices.
I initially had very high respect for Light Yagami. However, when he manipulated that detective lady to get her to go home and hang herself, first thing that came to mind was, this guy can burn in hell. Seriously, if I had the death note and in order to operate it I had to kill innocent people like her, I would call off the whole thing all together. Not to mention he would also mistreat and phsychology manipulate misa from time to time, not to mention use her and abandon her for another women eventually.

It's so unique. I think there are better animes, but this one could never be matched
In term of story, like Ryuk himself said, interesting. Depending on who you side with, the ending is either good or bad. But tbh, Imma said it good ending. We can see how power corrupt Light so much he consider he never wrong. However, it bad for Light because you know. He cease to exist.
Its hard to write character like Yagami right. Most of story I read/watch that attempt to go "Morally right, but wrong" always flop by making the character too nonsensical. We see how Light use his power, before he turning from hero to actual killer. At that point, for me, Im not sure if I want to support Light or not.
The way they move the plot is by having 2 big brain clashing together, creating a very good story, as both use all they can to achieve what they want with getting dumb down for any reason.
