    The American Drug Enforcement Agency says Khun Sa's army protects his drug interests, but Khun Sa says it's to continue his fight against the Burmese. He proclaimed independence for his Shan land from Burma in 1993. Ho Mong, Khun Sa's headquarters, is the size of a small city. A thousand new army recruits, all children, parade through a maze of well planned roads, houses, schools, temples and hospitals. The soldiers, often just nine years old, are press-ganged into service - many will never see their homes again. If they run away one of their family is executed. In 1977 Khun Sa promised to stop the opium trade in exchange for independence from Burma. To prove his innocence Khun Sa shows the pits in the ground where drug addicts are reformed. But the whole area, from growers to addicts, relies on the drug trade. In the Temple of the Last Chance Buddhist monks detoxify pathetic young Thai drug addicts by administering a herb drink makes them throw up.

      that’s the root cause of why america’s inner cities are so violent and out of control. in the 70s even maybe up to the 90s the drug game was monopolized by key players who would be the “man” in their community. however once the US gov knocked these guys out through prison or killing them the drug empires were all split apart and they turn their cities into warzones.

Bo got Randy to come down from ruby ridge and saved his friend who was seriously wounded. Imagine the hatred he felt toward the gov after killing his wife and son and would not come down off that mountain and was prepared to fight it out and die up there but had so much respect fo Bo that he came down peacefully off that mountain. But as I was saying coming of the drug is brutal but living without the drug is even more brutal because nearly every person in the world has issues and some has has more issues and problems than others that’s why they take the drug to forget there problems and when you come of the drug all your problems will come flooding back and you can imagine the strength off the opium or heroin the kids are taking in these poor country’s that the poppy is grown and the price they pay for it I wouldn’t blame the people from them poor war torn country’s from taking drugs just to forget the shitty hand they were dealt in life the D.E.A can kill or capture all these drug lords but drugs like heroin cocaine crystal meth weed and many other drugs are here to stay and worse it’s getting not better.

    I have nothing but respect and admiration for every single person who has ever overcome the fiery trial which is opiate/opioid WDs. Presently I can't make it past the three day mark but I will get there in the end, by the grace of God. With that said, although that hole in the ground detox is terrifying to contemplate, what a blessing it is in disguise unto all who have no other choice but to enter therein because with the presence of choice and softer routes to getting clean, you might just end up like myself, having become pussified over the course of time from continually telling yourself things along these lines "I'll just have to remain on maintenance for the rest of my life. Other peope do, it's a perfectly ordinary.". Or "I will begin to reduce my dose, albeit in another year's time, when I'm feeling stronger and more stable.", Vain and presumptious thoughts are these, such which must be taken captive and purged along with the addiction because, in all likelihood, those who pursue these schools of thought, only become weaker and ever more dependent, multiplying the difficulty that will be required in order for them to get clean by factors which will only be revealed in due time. To all those who have had success getting clean using maintenance, congratulations to you and I hope and pray you'll never cease to take a single day clean for granted, not that you might not be tempted but so that you might not yield when you are.
    And if you pray, please pray for me, not that I would not become complacent with addiction/dependency and give up but that conviction would be present to help me pick myself back up off the floor and continue fighting the good fight when it happens.

      You can do it, that is if you haven't already. I'm currently tapering off of methadone. Went from around 90mg in the beginning, to 45 for a while, and now I'm going down 5mg a week until l hit zero. Down to 20mg, so just 4 more weeks now. It hasn't been easy, but it hasn't been as bad as it could be. I'm sure it will suck once I hit 0mg, but the only thing you need to remember is that it will end sooner than you think if you just persevere, and just keep your eye on the prize.
      Btw, technically they say that I'm going down too quickly. Generally people will go down 2-3mg every couple of weeks, so I wouldn't advise tapering as quickly as I am unless you, like me, are really hard headed and you have alot of willpower. Also, don't use methadone unless you're an actual heroin addict. Methadone withdrawals last about 1 week- 3 months depending on how you go about it. 1 week if you taper, 3 months if you go cold turkey.
      I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers as I battle through this myself.

    Khun Sa's operation was actually quite small by comparison. He also had
    to deal with competition for the market from other drugs sources; cocaine, designer cocktails and crack (later replaced by crystal meth).

Because it was a fresh marketing ploy pushed by global authorities as the “new safe heroin” knowing that smokable heroin would facilitate a whole new range of users who would have never in a million years considered IV drug use. You're right. That is a totally ridiculous concept. Handing over $50 million and destroying an illegal crop in its entirety is crazy. It makes way more sense to spend approx $144 billion/year financing a "war on drugs" where only a small percentage of said illegal crop is confiscated by the government and destroyed. The rest, of course, makes its way to a population of addicts to fuel plenty of crime, death, and suffering. But at least nobody is simply wasting money! :)

Just abstain & you get back to normal within 2-3 mths.Sleep once every 3-4 days in the 1st 6 weeks then you good as gold.Dont even think of using in there or you be a candidate for aids or Hepatitis.Then you get out & as sure as night follows day you back amongst it.That monkey on your back grows into a gorilla.

    • @mp-uy9sv
      @mp-uy9sv 7 лет назад +18

      there is no such thing as a gateway drug
      it is merely a decision of the drug taker
      But if you were to choose which drug out of Alcohol & pot is more likely to be a gateway to heroin , then it is marijuana with out a doubt.
      Only because some pot dealers also sell Heroin , not because one innately leads to the other
      To say alcohol is ever a gateway to heroin literally makes zero logical sense, and is silly.
      so NO the real gateway drug is actually NOT alcohol.

    • @milascave2
      @milascave2 7 лет назад +3

      Basically, the gateway drug is the easyest illegal drug to get. I say illegal because once you get in the habit of buying drugs off the black market, it's not such a big step to get a different one. But I met a guy who said that he tried heroin before he tried anything else. Because of where he lived, it was what was around, and he had never even heard of anything else until later. Once he heard of them, he used it, so in his case, heroin was the gateway drug.
      A lot of young folks world wide start with solvents: glue, lighter fluid, gasoline, oven cleaner, liquid paper. It would be hard to ban all that stuff.
      Basically, some people try drugs. Of those, some people, a minority, are inclined to become addicted to them. Of the latter group, they will tend to get hooked on whatever is around, including, yes, alcohol. So, the gateway drug theory has a grain of truth in it, trying one thing often leads to trying another. But it is flawed in the idea that getting rid of one drug will keep people from trying others.
