Aderm Gaming we had a concert where we played it and 2 people came on stage during the battle of the heroes with lightsabers and were fighting. I didn’t know this and I was playing, while trying not to laugh at the same time and let me tell you that is the hardest thing ever
@@themoondoesntmind lol. I know my band director is conducting using a lightsaber. We are setting up a concert outside with socially distanced seats and everything.
I'm a 1st flute player. My band is playing this in our spring concert and it sounds so cool. My band loves the entire song, but everyone loves the "Cantina Band" part the best. I really love to play "Across the Stars". I think that it sounds so peaceful and beautiful. I feel bad for the clarinets with all those triplets in "Across the Stars" and the "Battle of the Heros" parts lol. My band director gets so excited whenever we play through the entire thing because it sounds so awesome and cool. My friends have told me that they can hear us playing from all the way in the cafeteria and they have said that it sounds so great and cool. Anyways, I'm done with my rant lol. I just love talking about band and how awesome it is to be in band. ❤❤❤😂😂😂
I gate-keep Star Wars so hard I actually asked my mom (our temporary band director at the time) if me and the other tenor could be the only ones playing the Across the Stars melody because the other two who played it with us (one horn and one bass guitar) just couldn't play it correctly and she actually agreed and we absolutely slayed it
I have the same problem playing tuba a lot of the time. The only time I was actually in over my head (recently) was playing an original (unarranged, as the original composer had written it) version of Back to the Future. More credit for low winds and percussion!
I'm a 1st flute player!! I love to play the "Cantina Band" part and the love song part. 😂 #flutepartsareawesome #flutesrock #thankgoodnessthatwedonothavethetripletpartslol 😂
Am I listening to this because I want to and we’re not playing it for any concert band thing? Well kinda- we played it last year and I still listen to it randomly because it gets stuck in my head.
We had a substitute when we got this music and she had the trombones and baritones raise their instruments when they'd blast in Augie's Municipal Band. But our teacher got back and said not to :(
listen to this so many times just because i really wish we can play this in my band class. btw i really want to learn how to play trumpet as my second instrument. XD
flute?? somebody? ahaha also i’ve been on a three day trip with our schoolband and we learned this and i fell in love ahaha like you know them all and now you play them
that moment when you play tenor sax and dont get to play in the Cantina band :( thankfully my friend wrote out an arrangement for sax quartet so my friends and I are playing it :P
I’m currently playing this song for our spring band consert at berry middle school I play the tenor saxophone and I am livening every bit about learning this song (Edit) I played this so well that my dad got goose bumps
Ok so I’m using my limited other language skills and guessing that you’re a first chair alto sax (me too) in your school orchestra and the solo you u have in the song is awesome (but I could also be wrong)
I still remember basically getting a solo for the Emperor Arrives on my Euphonium. Since I was the only one with an instrument that went that low in my section of the band.
I played it last year. From rough memory, I think I had cowbell, crash, and triangle somewhere in there. I don't think I had a part for Battle of the Heroes (but I wanted that glockenspiel part). I know I played suspended throughout, but I loved The Emperor Arrives specifically and police whistle on Augie.
Hello! I’ve been a Euphonium player for 3 years now and our For my assessment I have to do a duet of the Star Wars “Main Title” with a melephone player and I’ve only got 3 weeks to practice it and it’s already been a week and I haven’t practiced yet 😖
Playing this Thursday for band as a saxophone, we only have four of us and like 15 of every other group 😅😅😅😅 we gotta be a big loud especially since I have to play the Barry sax or smth I can’t remember the name 😅😅😅😅
I play horn and last year our director handed out The Star Wars® Saga, Selections from Arr. Michael Story and whenever we would practice it he would cut us off right before across the stars which was a big horn feature
Across the Stars was a complete butt. A beautiful song maybe but hell with those triplets. And the start for Part 1 Clarinet (Which I played) With those fast triplets and trying to get the fingering in time!
as a first clarinet playing this piece for disney this year in may, i am always worried about my embouchure falling apart by the end of battle of the heroes. not to mention accidentally moving my finger the slightest bit on those triplets in across the stars.
I love 2:57 😭 Especially cuz we have no baritones and only 1 horn that can actually play (which isn’t in my period) and the other tenor sax isn’t in my prd so I just get a mini solo as a tenor 😝

Vibing to the background beats in the begining instead of the actual tune
