Scottie even said that same thing in this article yet it’s disingenuous when Mike say it? How is that true when based on Scottie’s words he doesn’t actually know Mike cause they were never friends??
Jordan said in his HOF speech and in the documentary that Pippen was his greatest teammate ever and he wouldn't have won without him. What more does the man need to day?
Sure MJ said that in the HOF speech; however, in the documentary he really did put Scottie and other teammates on blast. If you cannot see that then you really are delusional. The documentary truly showed how selfish MJ really is. I have NEVER been a MJ fan and the documentary solidified my opinion of him.
I think it's Bill Wenington who tells this story, but I may be wrong. Scottie challenged Mike to 1 on 1 after practice one day. Mike asked Scottie, "are you sure"? Scottie's like Yes. Mike proceeded to destroy Scottie.

They both needed each other but… it’s facts that without jordan, Scottie never carried the bulls or any other team. Jordan in the other hand before Scottie carried the bulls to be a relevant team, Chicago was nothing before jordan. The front office just did a good job recruiting and getting good picks and help for Michael even if Scottie wouldn’t of gone to the bulls, Im sure Michael would still have won championships, in the other hand, Scottie by himself, being the man, wouldn’t have won a championship.
Scottie didn't even start his first couple years. When they did win a title he wasn't even an all star that year. True, MJ couldn't win it by himself. No one can. Not even the great Wilt Chamberlain. All he needed was a guy who could at least be a career 17,5,6 guy. That guy was Scottie. MJ did more with less.

Last time I checked The Last Dance was about the ENTIRE Bulls organization, literally! From the owner, to the General Manager, to the teammates, down to the security guards. Why was it okay to show MJ’s gambling issues, him losing his dad, him looking like a bully, but they can’t show Scottie walking out on his teammates 🤷🏽♀️ Ain’t nobody taking shots at Scottie! They showed a lot of negative things about MJ, so if you’re arguing that it should’ve been more about the team, it already was and Scottie should take the good and the bad.

The Scottie and mj dynamic is know different than steph and klay Or kd and steph there damn near equals but one decides to take a backseat so the other can shine
Scottie can say how he feels, just how he feels are the feelings of petty, bitter ingrate. Essentially, he was sour over signing a stupid contract that he had no one to blame but himself for. He never once stops to consider that while he had an influence on the Bulls, perhaps MJ had an influence on him and helped him to achieve more as well. Michael didn't pay your contract, nor did he sign it. Scottie did some juvenile emotional things that displayed his ego came before his responsibilities to the team. After all this time, he still hasn't come to terms with the decisions he has yet to take accountability for. Scottie should have had nothing but gratitude for being a part of the legend that Jordan created.

The Last Dance was thought to be about the whole Bulls organization and team in their last season together. But all it became was just about Jordan and his career narrated by Jordan
The thing about Scotty in Portland, even tho he wasn’t scoring big, he was still the glue and facilitator… And had those refs not been compromised by that big gambling scandal, would they had beat the Lakers, who ended up winning the chip that season? I love Unc but he has a sensitive spot when it comes to Jordan. I think it bothers him that MJ is considered the GOAT. Maybe because he himself wants those accolades as a Tight End but SOMETHING is there. In this very documentary, MJ said you can't mention MJ without mentioning Scottie Pippen. Some people can't seem to wait to try to diminish MJ. It's interesting.
Did Scottie even watch the whole thing? I don’t see anything wrong with how he was portrayed. If anything, it even made me appreciate him more. Under-appreciated dude who knew his worth and had to do what he had to do bc of the circumstances pitted against him. His actions were valid and should be everybody’s mindset. There were no shots taken afaik.

@@mikemills7943 well, to be fair, Scottie had several revenue streams. For Scottie, it wasn't JUST about the money. As for MJ, I agree to some extent, he may have been insensitive but then again, the goal during the last dance was to do something legendary. And it wasn't as if it was only MJ who would've benefitted from it. The whole team would. What bothers me is why Scottie felt so slighted about how he was portrayed in the Last Dance. One thing that folks seem to overlook, was that Scottie had the adulation, and affection of his teammates. They all spoke glowingly of him during the doc, I didn’t see that same energy directed at Jordan from them.
Jordan had players that he could harp on and Pippen had encouraged the players that couldn't handle Jordan's harsh criticism. Both are regarded as great players and leaders in their own ways. That's why the team flourished. Granted, it was hard and took time for Jordan to become down to Earth and communicate with his teammates because no one took the game as seriously as he did. I can kind of relate to it.
Scottie brought his own elegance and all-round game during the same time that Jordan showcased his scoring prowess. We never watched and enjoyed Jordan without watching and enjoying Pippen the same time. For a guy who gave his best years to the Bulls getting physically beaten and bruised in the process, why didn't he win one without MJ isn't just a fair question. The Bulls gave him Pete Myers the 2 years that MJ was away in between the two 3-peats. Perhaps with someone a notch better, he might have just won. The Last Dance didn't make me change my opinion regarding anyone involved - I just enjoyed the basketball and the memories from those great years.
I keep reminding people of this lol. Pippen has a bigger ego than Jordan but unfortunately for him no one will ever look at him the way the world looks upon Jordan. Jordan laid out how he felt scottie gave up on the team and scotties pride could not handle it

Because MJ had editorial control. He approved what went into the documentary.

Right
I thought more negative of MJ after watching it to be honest, so I think Scottie is just overreacting 😆
Jordan with the last dance was insinuating the difference between the two read between the lines and you see it was full of sneaking dissing
I played with the flu Scottie quit with a migraine
No but it didn’t highlight Scottie full greatness either. Scottie was a mvp candidate the year Jordan retired and it didn’t tell that season in full and show Scottie balling as the leader but definitely showed him not subbing in the game and being mad at his contract.
The very first person that Michael Jordan thanked in his speech was Scottie pippen

MJ doesn't need the Last Dance to outshine anybody. MJ is simply the GOAT!! 90s Chicago Bulls is who they are because of MJ.
I mean.. he never thought he would going to be interview about this...They just came to knock on his door. It's not like Michael for called ESPN to do this last dance? I don't get it with Scottie it's not MJ's fault for not calling him about this interview? Besides MJ's too busy being an owner of the Charlotte Hornets and golfing. What ESPN should have done is called all the the bull teammate to do this together? Instead of knocking his door. But I don't really get it with Scottie knows Michael Jordan always praise him for what he has done. I got it way! he sometimes said: without Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan, Mike will not sit in six rings? But I can go for the same for him, if MJ hadn returned to the team. He wouldn't be saying 6! Besides Scotty how did a chance to do things by himself without MJ, but he was selfish on his coach that he call his coat racist that's kind of disrespect and overboard? Michael was making over 30M that year, whilst Scottie was grossly underpaid at 3M and trying to leverage the team to make a little more. Mike thought that was selfish of Scottie.. Unbelievable..

@@mikemills7943 well, to be fair, Scottie had several revenue streams. For Scottie, it wasn't JUST about the money. It was a matter of principle--compensation ultimately reflects how an organization values its members. And he wasn't wrong to gripe about that. To me personally, I've identified with him and learned a lot from his struggles and how he dealt with them.

Remember 5 years ago when Scottie said on “NBA Jump” that he AND I QUOTE “There is nothing Lebron can do, I will never take Lebron over Jordan” funny.
I keep reminding people of this lol. Pippen has a bigger ego than Jordan but unfortunately for him no one will ever look at him the way the world looks upon Jordan. Jordan laid out how he felt scottie gave up on the team and scotties pride could not handle it
