It's clearly about selling this book otherwise he would've been talking earlier. The funny thing is, Scottie actually made more from NBA contracts than MJ
The only reason Scottie became famous and an all-time great is because of Michael .... just like we continue to talk about him and his book because of Michael. Meanwhile the GOAT just keeps doing his thing keeping a low profile. This is just another example of how MJ is a cut above everyone else ... he operates in a different stratosphere.
Most if not all did not think any less of Scottie after watching the last dance. The main thing I heard was sympathy for him because he obviously outplayed his contract. No one minimized his role as the clear #2 on that team. I appreciated the doc not doing a whitewash over their blemishes including Jordan's. It was all part of the journey. Scottie should cherish what they both accomplished together. Most consider them the best basketball duo ever.
Scottie taking about playing with a bad back like he lit it up. Bruhwent off for a "remarkable" 8 points in that game. We talk about the flu game because MJ went for 38.
Game 3 of the 93 ECF down 0-2 to the Knicks after media scrutiny of Jordan gambling into the early morning. Facing an insurmountable 0-3 deficit Pippen Leads the Bulls going 10/12 from the field and 8/10 from free throw line to avoid going down 0-3. Jordan after struggling in games 1 and 2 and facing scrutiny about gambling into the early morning wiltered under pressure and shot an abysmal 17% 3-18 from the field. There was no skip Bayless to tell us 5 days a week for a decade how Pippen saved Jordan's legacy and how mentally weak Jordan was etc. This film was a Jordan highlight documentary and a Pippen lowlight documentary meant to diminish how good the team was around Jordan. If any other Super Star shot 17% 3/18 in game 3 down 0-2 their team would be blown out, but the Bulls won by 20 because they were the best team. They probably win a championship without Jordan in 94 if not for some bad calls. That would diminish the legend of Jordan.

Without Pippen there is no last dance remember that he sacrificed blood sweat and tears for that dynasty nearly as much as Jordan can't we give him the Proper respect he deserves no because if people give him credit it takes away from MJ
This is true. I watched it because I thought it was a documentary only about MJ. I didn't even know it was a team documentary when I began watching it.

I really liked Pippen. Really sad to this happened. If he just wanted to sell more books, this is the dumbest approach. He could had went the other way and wrote a book that praised his teammates and named it something like Here's What You've Missed From the Last Dance.
It's funny Scottie pippen will always be in Jordan's shadow. He's only selling the book because of Michael Jordan. Pippen is not a box office draw. Nobody saw the last dance because of Scottie, people saw it because of Jordan

I like this group. They’re entertaining, they have decades worth of experience to talk from, and they’re all genuinely pleasant to watch at least to me
Anyone see the GMA interview where Pippen said he wanted to be remembered as the G.O.A.T? Why does this man keep trying to measure himself to MJ when we all know he will always come up short (very short). Why does this man keep doing this to himself?

Best for his size maybe. He's not best ever. Kareem has as many rings and mvps and more accomplishments, Russell has the rings, Wilt was a force of nature. He couldn't get past Bird or Thomas, and only beat a hurt Lakers team for his first ring. Give me a break.

He's contender for 🐐 but Jordan is. As for Russell there was just not the competition back in the day, imagine putting just 10-20 players from today's league in there or just Shaq, he'd get no 11 rings. As for Thomas and Bird, Jordan had only been in the league for 7 years before winning his first 🏆 so he was still growing and as was his team. Giving you a break!
I grew up in the 90s and loved the NBA only because of MJ. I also loved and respected Scottie for what he did on the court because like MJ has said many times, he doesn't win 6 rings without him. As a Bulls and MJ fan, I knew MJ wasn't perfect, but Scottie has usually has good things to say about him. Was he lying then or is he lying now. I get Scottie wants more credit for the rings, but that's not MJ's fault. I get he's angry about how he was portrayed in the doc., but that's not MJ's fault, because he didn't make it. I'm not a fan of today's NBA, so I sometimes like to remember my 90s Bulls, but Scottie has tarnished that just to sell some books. In 1997 they got the 50 greatest players together to celebrate the anniversary, but if they do that this year for it's 75th, it's going to be very awkward! Not a Stephen A fan, but I totally agree with him. Love Michael Wilbon tho.
Scottie Pippen is a career 16ppg scorer. In fact, if you look at his career stats, they are underwhelming vs. his contemporaries. But as we know, his skills went beyond the stat line. It was playing alongside Jordan that allowed Pippen to really shine and develop his legacy. He owes Jordan alot.
Exactly right. Pippen's unique skills fit with a dynamic leading man like Jordan. That's what made Pippen so effective. Pippen was versatile, a top-level defender, better-than-average passer- could rebound some for stretches if you needed it, could fill in some scoring at times. But having Jordan gave Pippen the best stage to reach his potential. I don't think Scottie even realizes that now.
So glad to see this comment. Greeny is at the top of his profession. He is the most effective and articulate sports show host/broadcaster working today. No lie. He is the Bob Costas of this generation.
Scottie is actually making MJ's case of how great of player MJ was. In that bad back game he scored 8 points while MJ scored 45 or their 87 points. So that's MJ=45....rest of the bulls=42. In the flu game MJ scored 38 while Scottie scored 17. So Scottie talking as if he carried MJ to a win in that bad back game
Scottie should be ashamed of himself! If he's a boxer probably I'll think he's a punch drunk. But come on men! Why he's insecure now? I don't understand why he's blaming MJ for his own fault? I'm losing my admiration to you scottie.
Trying to make himself look better by tossing mud on the GOAT. Shine off your own achievements. The WHOLE WORLD knew MJ was #1 and Pippen #2 on the Bulls
My guess is that it may have more to do with his son's early death and his wife cheating on him and leaving him...both severe emotional drains...Maybe he doesn't feel like MJ and Phil are supportive enough of him about that.
I would without a doubt or contradiction take Kevin McHale over pippen, and I'm 65 yrs old born and raised in Chicago. You don't hear McHale bitching, and bad mouthing Bird for people always talking about Bird. Pippen is that so called friend who's jealous of you. And my heavenly Mother once told me that "jealousy is the worst form of hatred"
Richard Jefferson made a great point about Scottie but SAS just has to have the last word. It's sometimes ok to just say, "You know what? Good point." and move on. You don't always have to be the last word.
MJ had no right to sell Scottie like that, because MJ made his way into triple a baseball and had no business being on the 93-94 94-95 Bulls team due to his retirement from the NBA. MJ was not on the team so he had no right to film the last dance with those Pippen Bulls team
Pippen is not underrated, he's overrated. Pippen was never a top 5 player, stop that BS. He didn't guard Magic in the 1991 Finals because Jordan did. He guarded him only for game 2 because Jordan took 3 early fouls in the game. Pippen tried to sabotage that last dance season by not playing half of the season and Jordan still carried the Bulls to the number one spot in the regular season by the time Pippen came back. Pippen wasn't even an all star for 2 of those 6 titles. He's overrated, not underrated.
There’s not one final series he dominated out of six chips..not one. When he left Chicago he was done cooked finished. He lost a 3-1 lead against LA and was horrendous in Houston.
You CANNOT be *"overrated"* when you lead your team in assists, steals, blocks, DBPM, DWS and DRtg for the ENTIRE 1996 and 1998 playoffs, you CANNOT be *"overrated"* when you lead your team in 2 statistical categories in the 1992, 1993, 1996 and 1998 Finals, you CANNOT be *"overrated"* when you lead your team in 3 statistical categories in the 1997 Finals.
Pippen just let the media get in his head on top of the fact he was going broke and lost his wife! Jordan has always given him credit and its no ones fault but his own for how his career ended. He could have left the bulls to play somewhere else! I remember when pip was begging Jordan to come back to basketball wearing a pair of Jordans after he had his own shoe! Pip got made when they asked Isaiah Thomas who was the goat and he said he would pick Jordan every time. Lastly are we all just going to forget he just called Phil Jackson racist live on tv and now acting like it was a mistake! Pip needs to stop drinking and get some help. “No one came to see you Otis” lol. (That’s for my old heads who get that quote lol)
We never know the reasons for these because we are only basing our comments and opinions to the way we feel or we see. Just a reminder we are not part of that basketball team when they won those championships and Pippen does knows that. That flu game maybe is just a drama or exaggerated thing.
I'm so disappointed in Scottie man smh one of my favorite players growing up...one of the top 50 players of all time, 6 time champion, Olympic champion, multimillionaire...and 30 years later you're using "animosity" against Michael Jordan to help you sell a book...blaming him for your insecurities and low self worth/esteem...Scottie Pippen needs a Psychotherapist...this is just sad
Why is Scottie acting as if bad things were not said about other people? MJs punch to Steve, gambling, etc was said. Dennis Rodman going to vegas was brought up. Jerry Krause and Phil Jackson fight was talked about. Similarly, you not getting shot and surgery was brought up.
And Scottie is acting like people made up stuff about him. He did those things. Pretty please don't mention the time I refused to go back into a playoff game. Pretty please don't mention the terrible contract I agreed to sign that the owner even told me not to. Pretty please don't mention that I almost derailed the last dance cause I didn't want to mess up my summer to get surgery when I needed it. He should be on his hands and knees thanking Jordan for the legacy he has, cause he could have never been traded to the Bulls after getting drafted by Seattle and we'd only think of Pip as a nice player from the 90s, nothing more. Pippen is a top 50 player and thought of as one of the best because he got lucky and was able to be Jordan's running mate.
He asked to be traded multiple times. Jordan and Phil Jackson vetoed against it. And people during the 90s are quite different. They stay professional, unlike what AD or Harden or Kawhi had done to force the organisation to make the trade.
Scottie might end up being the GOAT MJ apologist. Because if you look at the 1990 Migraine Game, Scottie looks worse and MJ looks better from it . Scottie goes 1 for 10. Doing an opposite effect on MJ.
That was good. 30 years later we are still talking about this...that says something. Those men brought so many people so much joy, i have often wondered if they know what they actually meant to people. Mikes an asshat.......but still the GOAT, eat it Lebron....OMG!!!! LMAO!!!

You know what the difference is between a flu game and a bad back game?
About 30 point difference.
Remarkable 8 points 😂
He was never required to be the scorer for the team...that was MJ. He did everything else!

Best for his size maybe. He's not best ever. Kareem has as many rings and mvps and more accomplishments, Russell has the rings, Wilt was a force of nature. He couldn't get past Bird or Thomas, and only beat a hurt Lakers team for his first ring. Give me a break.

Pippen average way more Dan 16.1ppg with the bulls his numbers went down when he kept playing past his prime

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Larry Bird play with a bad back? He even played in the Olympics with a bad back.

If Scottie felt underappreciated, why didn't he go to another team, I guess he felt that he appreciated those 6 rings more.
He asked to be traded multiple times. Jordan and Phil Jackson vetoed against it. And people during the 90s are quite different. They stay professional, unlike what AD or Harden or Kawhi had done to force the organisation to make the trade.
The one thing that Scottie is doing is make all these talking heads agree.
Scottie might end up being the GOAT MJ apologist. Because if you look at the 1990 Migraine Game, Scottie looks worse and MJ looks better from it . Scottie goes 1 for 10. Doing an opposite effect on MJ.
Scottie's beef is with himself. He is hurt because of life. It happens. He is human.
I have always favored Richard Jefferson over Jalen Rose for some reason
