Loved this demo! I'm a mostly clean RnB flavored player, and this is getting my imagination going on how I could use this. The saturation knob and the random chorusing with the unity dry signal could definitely be an always on situation. Can't wait to plug my synth in and get weird and glitchy but great to know that it's actually pretty tasteful and musical at lower settings for guitar! Thanks for all u do!
Thanks Lukas 🙏 I definitely could see some of the LoFi vibes working in R&B. Like anything, it takes some time and know-how to figure it out but it’s a fun tool to say the least. Glad I piqued your imagination! That’s why I do what I do. Cheers
i have one it sounds way more usable if you spend a lot of time with it and learn to tame it. it lends itself to more experimental stuff rather than regular open chord progressions. try some different inversions up the neck and some 4 note jazzier/ambient chord progressions and you'll see what the hype is about. people really abuse the failure knob, i usually bypass snag and drop and mess with the other 10+ parameters. less than half on the WOW and flutter unless you're purposely going for a complete failure effect
Nice to see a 'straight' rockers opinion. Has more potential than I initialy thought. Good review. Where would you put this in your chain? I was thinking last? Take care.
Thanks! That’s how I approach CB stuff. People are very quick to go crazy…which is fun…but I gotta make it usable for the music I make. Personally I’d put this after dirts and before time-based stuff. Though the filters on the Classic mode could have a different effect in front of dirt.
was your Pedal already updated to the new firmware at the time of recording the video? i heard it does something to fix the kind of extreme internal latency so that its less chorusy when using in dry mode
my girlfriend has both the Ribbbons and the Gen Loss MkII and I can confirm that (to my ears) the Ribbon is one of the only bad-sounding pedals I've ever come across.
I like this pedal buuuuuuuuut. It's too expensive for what it offers and many other pedals do the same thing and offer more effects. It's not worth the price it goes for.
I mean, it is $400. But the first Gen Loss w/ CBA was that price and this has that and the new version. Sure there are similar pedals but this is pretty much 2 Gen Loss pedals in one pedal.
@@SeanPierceJohnson sadly it's more of the same. People love hype for 400 someone could get more for their money. The Mako m1 does most of what the cba gl plus more for cheaper. I once upon a time wanted that pedal and the warped vinyl. But they are just overpriced and overbuilt. Let's be honest how many songs are we gonna use that pedal on? 1 maybe 2 rarely 3. Get a Mobius it does more and has more usable sounds.
@@broughttofruition7377 for someone who has a lot to say about a pedal they seem to not know much about despite watching the video. You seem to have a severe lack of imagination as to how far you can take an effect like the Gen Loss. Also comparing multi FX units to a pedal that’s sole purpose is to emulate the artifacts in tape and different kinds of tape is like comparing how tasty a whole fruit platter is to a single type of fruit.
@@broughttofruition7377 Also the two effects you mentioned don't have stuff like snagging, crinkle effects or volume drop like tape does. They also don't have mechanical sounds or control over how audible the tape hiss, hum or the mechanical sounds are. You also can't control wow and flutter individually. Plus, it's sole purpose is to emulate the degradation of magnetic tape via different tape units. The pedals you mentioned don't do that. Also, the reason that it costs so much is because it's a boutique pedal company making a pedal that is very customizable and tailored to the individual using it. Also, Chase Bliss decided last year that in order for people like us to save money and get the pedal for the most affordable price was for them to do the shipping themselves. So no it's not overpriced or over built. It's built to do the things it's designed to do just like the Mobius and M1 aren't underbuilt
@@kotanecrosis96 SolidGoldFX NU-33 Vinyl Engine is under 200 and covers everything we care about that cba has. Most parameters no one cares for there just there so the company can charge more money. I apologize for speaking down on your pedal. You speak as if you helped design it.
@lambgoat2421 it's all about approach. I don't use any DAW effects. I like the organic quality of using tactile effects. Plus, for a live setting, I never use a DAW.
Thanks for celebrating the Season 10 premiere with me!

Finally a musical example of the pedal. Thanks for adding more context to the effect.
Thanks! I'm convinced, it'll sure add direction to my shoegaze style. All the best!

Best tutorial ive seen of the gen loss. Have had it for awhile i love it. Cant wait for mood mkii to come out
This is the only demo that helped me decide to get one. Than you. 😊
Very cool pedal... Love the weird ones! Has that old record player thing... so trippy! Great video Sean! 😎🎸🤘
Dude I’ve been excited for this!!
Chase bliss are such genius level audio engineering creators!
Hope all is well Sean!
Thanks Riley 🤘 all is alright. Thinking of you man. 🙏
@@SeanPierceJohnson thank you pal!
Just got my Generation Loss today, cool pedal, my first from Chase Bliss, the build quality is great on it.
Totally great video. I have been watching out for guitar presentation.
Thanks for watching!
Great demo of an awesome pedal 👍👍👏👏
Brilliant video! Super pro, more interesting than Chase Bliss’s own videos, and I WANT ONE!
thank you!
Incredible demo. thank you
Thank you Jared!
3:18 that final nostril flare just cements the real feeling here lmfao
i'm sick of the misrepresentation of musical terms.
@@SeanPierceJohnson enough is enough!!
are u using another effect to get the swells and tone at 29:10 before u turn on the generation loss? The tone is amazing!!
Hey Hey Hey... Happy Saturday 🎸
Happy Saturday Mickey ✌️❤️🤘
Great demo! But why does that G keep going up an octave when you're running through the tape models? I MUST KNOW!
Thanks! More than likely what you're hearing is result of overtones and some combination of harmonics. No actual pitch shifting is happening.
Cool, thanks for letting me know
Great video! Also loved the T-shirt! Go go power rangers!

Everything sounded nice
Thank you Janice 🙏
13:08 that tone and riff are FIRE. Write a song with it please
Love the Seinfeld reference! 😂

I got mine after the update was announced but I haven’t confirmed if it is. I got it, played it and was satisfied.
When you save a sound as preset, does it also retain the differing dip switch choices?
I’m torn between this and Ribbons pedal.
Yes
yes Nathan is does.

I grabbed one last night. Pretty much anyone with a pulse can get one with 4 interest free payments.
indeed they can!
Damn you were right. My dog got one too!
@@lambgoat2421I made one payment then sold it. I love my $100 Deco v2 lmao
That repetitive high note in that progression irritated the f*** out me. It’s all I could hear.
Cool pedal though. Seems worth every penny.
it is worth it. lots of fun

Waste of money.
I would say because it's there opinion, but I'm being objective and leaving your opinion to yourself.
Sounds pretty rad to me. Misery guys 😘
It does sound good, but can't you do all of this with some filters in your DAW?
