    The crystal color/boss system caught my eye as something really nifty! I should also say, I too have been quite inspired by Jason Glover's content (I don't own any of his games but watch many of his (and your) videos) and thought it would be a fun challenge to make a game in a small box - working on my own atm. It's a fun project!

    • @rafiweiss3915

      @@Game-Knight Based on your progress, I'm not as far along, but the problem is I get in my own way and instead of playtesting it, I keep trying to perfect it in my notes. I think I just have more fun theorizing what systems would work and how cards might look vs actually testing it.
      I also love Jason Glover's simple push your luck, this or that system. I started with that and kept messing with it until it felt different enough.
      I'm excited for you to share more progress videos because watching others go through the same stuff that I'm going through is very encouraging!

    I really like the different damage ranges you've come up with for each monster to make it more than the 1-6 on the die, then adding in additional modifiers is super cool. The push your luck mechanism is definitely heavily in spired by Jason Glover's design. I applaud you for trying to iterate on it and trying to push the mechanism more but it seems like quite a feat given how simple of a mechanism it is.

    Looks really cool. I particularly like the dungeon resolution and push your luck elements. I’m a little worried however about the sheer amount of information on the enemy cards, especially if you are intending to make them mini cards and use dice to track things. That’s a lot to fit in a little space.
    Very excited to see the progress you make and hope everything goes well as you continue to work on this. Good luck!
    I’d also be interested in play testing for you.

      I think I’ll be able to fit it in on the smaller cards with some rearranging of icons and what not. I have an idea for how to do it. That’s part of the fun in designing a mint tin game; it’s a challenge to fit as much content as possible into a small space.

    maybe instead of the medium d6 you can use d8 it can give you more variations fir weapons and such

    • @Game-Knight
      @Game-Knight  5 месяцев назад +4

      I appreciate the feedback and suggestion. I need to make sure it can fit in the tin. I’ll have to see if the game crafter makes smaller d8 dice. Or I can try to put a normal sized d8 in the tin and see how it fits.
      I do like how a d6 works for all systems in the game so far. It would require reworking the number of loot, as well as the damage output on weapons and enemies. I’ll keep it in mind and see if it works, but at the moment I’m leaning more toward keeping the d6 as it functions perfectly for multiple uses. For instance; rolling to see what common, uncommon, or rare loot you get works with the d6 beings there are 6 loot of each rarity. If I change to d8, I’d need 8 of each loot rarity, which would increase the number of cards needed, and I’m already maxed out on space in the tin. That’s part of the fun in designing this game; cutting it down to the absolute essentials in order to make it all fit inside the tiny tin box.

    Not sure if I missed it, but does a boss look different from a regular enemy (other than probably being much tougher?) Also, in your map cards, what would be a reason to take a path that doesn't lead you to a key? I saw some rooms that didn't lead anywhere or didn't pass by a key, so I'm curious if there is a benefit to going into those rooms.

    • @Game-Knight
      @Game-Knight  5 месяцев назад +2

      Bosses haven’t been created yet. That will come soon. I have some ideas floating around.
      I’ve found that sometimes it benefits you to stay on lower levels, since the deeper the level, the more stat modifiers the enemies get. So it can be beneficial to go into rooms that don’t necessarily lead to a key. The trade off is that it takes extra steps and burns more oil in your lantern the more you explore. It gives you some neat choices to make. That’s been my experience with it so far.
