The post-poll survey that is credited with that claim is supposed to be run by the US think tanks, who don’t exactly have the history of reporting the reality. Instead they make up the reality that they would like us to believe. Maduro is not popular among the people there yes, but even among Madura detractors, they do not by default support Machado and many say they and their family voted for Madura because to avoid Machado. It’s like if Dems won despite their genocide and being disliked because of the genocide; if they won it wouldn’t be because people like them but because people dislike Trump more.
Last I heard the opposition had also failed to disclose the "proof" they claimed to have that Maduro lost. Has this changed in the last few days? Have Maduro's government or the opposition released any of the evidence they both claim to have? I don't know how many people understand that the sanctions are illegal. Legal sanctions have to go through the UN and get Security Council approval I believe. I'm not sure what other methods (if any) there are that make sanctions ok/legitimate under international law.
