Appreciate all the effort at reclaiming all the lumber and the uses that you are planning. Hard to find sometimes. By the way, the trusses coming down was a little on the funny side.
Thanks for sharing that video with us! Sounds exciting to reclaim all that old wood with its history. Looks like a ton of work, but they will make for beautiful projects! #TSGA
Great video! Next barn charge for removal, makes the effort seem worth the trouble & as you found out there's always a financial cost to you hidden beneath the surface. When you said barn I was hoping to see massive post & was thinking a nice Roubo bench coming soon.
Wow what a great review of what it takes to take down and remove a barn. Really showed off your quickness too😀 . Also thanks for saying that you are not sure it was worth it as I was just looking at one myself. Will be watching for more videos #TSGA
I love the idea of using reclaimed materials, but yeah it comes with all sorts of caveats. You might look into getting/building a small scale mill. With that you can clear peoples land and source your own wood in the process. Hate that the fella wanted the structure gone in the first place. Would have made a great shop.
WOW! When I watched this I could not help but think of all the projects I have tackled that were probably to much for me and my wife. Like all projects like this I saw many similarities like the unexpected asphalt roof, and the pleasant surprises like the white oak. I think this is what makes projects like this great - the unexpected! #TSGA
What an awesome find! I've always wanted to work with white oak. Looks like you're pretty fast, too! LOL I've always wanted to do the same thing but really have no place to store it. #TSGA Looking forward to more videos!
Appreciate the possibility of winning your old table saw. I have a Craftsman that is on it's last legs. I'm retired from the military and preaching. Now it's just fun time working in my shop. #TSGA
I’m glad to see any project where good old wood doesn’t hit the landfill. I make and restore old wood windows. It kills me when I see old growth cypress and pine sent to the landfill. The world might be a little better place if people would slow down and throw a little more of their time rather than only their money at things. Good luck with the new land! #tsga
Tore down a small house from the early 1900's Repurposed the wood, found out corner posts were cut down trees, and the corners were put on stones. Corner stone. #TSGA
Great job on this tear down. Some scary moments, I'm sure especially with roof trusses. It's hard work trying to reclaim materials. It's a great idea at first but sometimes turns into more work than return. Good luck with your farm. #tsga
Wow. That looks like it was “fun”. We are at the early stages of rebuilding our small barn, that was built in the mid ‘70’s. We’ll follow a similar process. But instead of building back another stick frame barn, we want to build a timber frame structure. Wish us luck! #TSGA
That's a lot of hard work....sound like something I'd take on without thinking about it. But I don't think my wife would as helpful as yours. I admire your ethics and 'take on thing'. #TSGA
I can relate, A few years ago we had the opportunity to reclaim the siding from my uncle's barn before they burned it down, we had 2 days to get what we could, That was a long 2 days, but very rewarding. #TSGA
#TSGA - PS, It is REALLY cool that you are repurposing old wood. The craftsmen, long since dead, look upon you with admiration and gratitude for taking their creation and bringing it back to life in the form of furniture. While it may seem like a ton of work, it will come back to you in spades. Keep it up and you inspire people like me.
Omg I can only imagine your wife's face when you told her lol ... I don't think that was on the shopping list ;-) what an amazing find, materials galore #TSGA
Wow, I can't believe that you took that whole barn down by yourself. Incredible. How long did it take? Although you don't currently think it was worth it time wise, I'm sure you'll be able to make some beautiful pieces out of that white oak. Can't wait to see it. Great share. #TSGA
You really left that property clean when you were done, I see you believe the thing I do, return it better than when you got it! That was a lot of work, hope everything came out good for you! #TSGA
70year old Oak ! Awesome.....I'm starting to think about building up some hardwood supply...... any recomentations on how to find barn wood in the New Mexico/West texas/Northern Az areas ? #TSGA
How long did it take you to do all of that? That is a lot of work. To make it more worthwhile in the future, you might want to partner up with a few people. It would make it go faster and sharing the cost of dump fees etc. True you would not get as much wood, but it would make it more manageable. Ohhh.. and did you run track in high school. You were a blurr in the video running out of there LOL. #TSGA almost forgot to add, but don't want you to think that is why I watched this video. I would of watched this one even without the giveaway
... barns by the dozens... Yup I know what you mean... I could walk down the street and find a few! But I have never taken the serious time to think about the time I would spend vs what I could get out of it. HMMM.... #TSGA
My Father used to say my eyes were bigger then my stomach, took me a while to understand what he meant. It could be that your free project may be bigger then your trailer?. #TSGA
Hello from a fellow Rogers, AR woodworker!! Next time shoot me a message and I can lend a hand. Hahaha. Looks like it was an interesting challenge. #TSGA
There are many elements to reuse in that barn. Roof, ship lap, oak. Man that’s a gold mine! Gary from NJ
My wife an I are Barn Busters too. Currently taking down a 150 year old barn and repurposing the wood (heart pine). Be safe.
#TSGA Awesome. Love your intro. Pastor Rainwater
I torn down a barn years ago-so much work but so much great aged wood.
Appreciate all the effort at reclaiming all the lumber and the uses that you are planning. Hard to find sometimes. By the way, the trusses coming down was a little on the funny side.

That was a close call !!

Ha Roubo bench may be coming soon.
This is oddly satisfying. love to see old materials refurnished

I’m looking forward to seeing what you do with all that beautiful white oak. BTW you should send some of the oak with the #TSGA
Tore down a small house from the early 1900's Repurposed the wood, found out corner posts were cut down trees, and the corners were put on stones. Corner stone. #TSGA
#TSGA my son and I are in the process of building our wood working shop. This table Saw would be the centerpiece of the shop!
Thanks for sharing, that was a big job. I love it when someone can repurpose old lumber . #TSGA

Yea that’s a lot of work. Be there a few times.
Awesome love barn removals. Reminds me of my time in Oregon looking at homesteads. #TSGA
What a cool project. Quite a bit of work but you end up with a nice load of old wood to work with. #TSGA
#TSGA BARN WOOOOOD! Haha such a unique look.
That's a lot of hard work....sound like something I'd take on without thinking about it. But I don't think my wife would as helpful as yours. I admire your ethics and 'take on thing'. #TSGA

Ugh...looks like an incredible amount of work. Hopefully it was worth it for you! That oak sure looks nice! #TSGA

That wood is going to make some really nice furniture or sliding barn doors. #TSGA
That was pretty close when the trusses fell! #TSGA
Just got some old pine from a water tank. Always fun to see what you salvage. #TSGA
I've reclaimed some 100-year-old pine from homes around me, but I've just salvaged it from a dumpster. Congratulations on the safe tear down! #TSGA
This video is awesome, I love watching the process #TSGA
Omg I can only imagine your wife's face when you told her lol ... I don't think that was on the shopping list ;-) what an amazing find, materials galore #TSGA
With the price of wood right now I would say it was for sure worth it! Lol
Its great to see your wife helping you. Or at least your not alone is one of those rafters did hit you.
Great way to get some reclaimed wood! #TSGA
Wow, I can't believe that you took that whole barn down by yourself. Incredible. How long did it take? Although you don't currently think it was worth it time wise, I'm sure you'll be able to make some beautiful pieces out of that white oak. Can't wait to see it. Great share. #TSGA
I would estimate 60 hours of actual work time.
#TSGA would love to pull apart an old barn for some great wood
Looks like fun! Lots of great material. #tsga
Wow nice job but a lot of work. Great job trying to repurpose the lumber. I’ll love to see some of the projects you use it for. #TSGA
You really left that property clean when you were done, I see you believe the thing I do, return it better than when you got it! That was a lot of work, hope everything came out good for you! #TSGA
Man that looks like a ton of work. #TSGA
White oak huh?? Let's make some bourbon barrels...
Old wood always has more character because of it’s stories! #tsga
There’s always another project!! This one turned out very nice!! #TSGA
Nice work. #TSGA
That's a heck of a lot of work but for the old metal roofing and the awesome wood, I'm sure it's worth it. #TSGA
70year old Oak ! Awesome.....I'm starting to think about building up some hardwood supply...... any recomentations on how to find barn wood in the New Mexico/West texas/Northern Az areas ? #TSGA
#TSGA for the guy with the same name trying to grow his shop!
#tsga
Would be awesome to get some of that beautiful wood, but I would have no where to put it all, lol
Did this once with the family a lot of work! #TSGA
That oak looks awesome. #TSGA
#TSGA I've always wanted to reclaim a barn for the historic lumber to put into heirloom pieces. Very jealous!
#TSGA maybe one day I’ll be able to tear one day one day. Country roads take me home!
Awesome gesture with the saw!
Love reusing wood #tsga
Very nice find! #TSGA
I hope you're keeping your life insurance up to date #TSGA
That looked like a lot of work, but worth it! I wish I had some old barn wood. *grumble* #TSGA
#TSGA would you not rebuild the barn on your new property?
Demoing old buildings is definitely a lot of work for a questionable return. #tsga
Awesome #tsga

TSGA entry!

Pretty cool video. #TSGA
The concrete foundation looks very small compared to the building you started with. Did your 60 hours include nail removal (LOL)? #TSGA
