I feel like Fontaine also has a bit of early twentieth century vibes since there are some art deco elements Think it’s interesting that Egeria and Furina are both Roman water gods. I think Egeria might be the previous archon.
Good point here! Before the Renaissance , there is the roman empire. Roman Empire decline (Old Hydro Archon) and Renaissance starts (New ruler , New Hydro Archon). If you look at the trailer you could spot some aqueduct .
You're the first channel I saw who talked about the siblings working under Arlecchino. To me, it was obvious they are spies from the overture trailer, but I didn't see anyone talking about it! It's so so interesting, and I can't wait to learn more about these three
Quick note but Wriothesley is based off the first Earl of Southampton, Thomas Wriothesley, or possibly his descendants, meaning he might be linked to the doings or personality of the Earl. Side note: Wriothesley is pronounced Rye- zlee. I also think it's interesting that some people tend to miss that Fontaine is also based on Britain (mainly England) and so it would be interesting if there was information in Britain's history that might link to the story/ the lore of Fontaine. Just some notes, nothing too important in this comment. ^^ EDIT: The first Earl of Southampton had close ties with high society. He held titles like secretary of state, Lord Chancellor and Lord High Admiral meaning he was very influential. He betrayed Thomas Cromwell in 1540 (during the time of Henry the 8th) which could also be important to the storyline of Fontaine. His role may be a double agent of sorts, where he works high up in govt while relaying information to the people below so they can act in the most affective way. EXTRA TEA: Super side note but Thomas Wriothesley's son Henry was rumoured to be the addressee of Shakespeare's poems Venus and Adonis and The Rape of Lucrece (I believe confirmed) and quite a few of his sonnets (unconfirmed)
Ahhh Thank you for the clarification on the pronunciation! The history of the Wriothesley family and how the 3rd Earl fell into disgrace was definitely an interesting read. The connection to Shakespeare is also very interesting considering the theatrical and extravagant nature of Fontaine
I actually think that the mention of the original sin could be the erasing of khanreah or the cataclysm that happened 500 years ago because they describe the original sin as the fairest which could be the point of view of the gods as they didn’t want khanreah to exist because it has no god
That's a good point! Depending on the perspective, the original sin could mean different things. The word fairest definitely threw me off but I can definitely see how from Celestia view it could viewed as the fairest.
Just me or I feel like Furina would just give away her gnosis to the Fatui because she wants drama, it's shown in the trailer than she's immature and acts like a child. I think she'll understand the risk, maybe the gnosis she'll give out is a fake or something, she (just like Nahida) threatens a Fatui Habinger with something simular, I like the crouching moron hidden badass troupe For the whole 'what if the Fatui realised it's a fake or something' then maybe Furina has a dirty trick up her sleeve, she did send assassin to kill someone (or more accurately, a divine being), I'm sure she'll have tricks just as dirty as the Fatui's After all, the whole troupe of Foutaine is that nothing is as it seems, right?
Imagine if the Fatui stole the gnosis but it turned out be a fake and a nuke from celestia instead loll All jokes aside, I agree since she enjoys drama she might toy around the Fatui. I have a feeling it might be like a game of thrones situation where everyone assumes the other party might betray them so everyone is doing underhanded things.
I'm surprised you didn't talk about the harbinger Silhouettes (possible) or there being tunnel like structure right above Furina that may or may not be symbolising Celestia right above her 😅😅😂😂🤣🤣👏😊
I think some other Lore RUclipsrs mentioned they wanted to talk about it. So I didn't want to steal their thunder xD But yes the number of silhouettes equals the harbingers haha
Really interesting video! I’m really looking forward to Fontaine’s story and can’t wait to see how things go. I have a feeling that Lyney, Lynette and Freminet may betray Arlecchino or some kind of twist may occur..
Oh, a fellow summoner. Yea you're right. Fontaine looks like Demacia than Piltover. But thr interactions of the citizens are similar to the Piltoverians and Zaunites.
I never thought I'd end up talking about league when going over Genshin Lore! Really cool to see how the architecture of Demacia and Fontaine are similar
While something akin Cabinet Noir sure may take place in Fontaine, I don't think anything suggests Wriothesley has anything to do with it. First, my impression from that travel through a pipe is that we go down, not up. And we end up in what resembles a jail, place that traditinally was partially below ground. And more importantly, he is obviously watching something, and not paying that much attention to his papers or to his companion. And finally, the couple of red chairs he and his companion are sitting on look whole lot like couples of chairs we get to see in the courtroom right after the camera switches off the burning photo held by Furina and before we get to see Furina herself. The wall behind them does not match the picture perfectly but we don't get to see whole courtroom either. All in all, I believe they're in that courtroom, not in post office.
This is my guess from the trailer. 1. Final Feast? I think this is "the last supper" reference. Leonardo da Vinic ,Died on May 2, 1519 (aged 67) France (2023- 1519 =500 ++years😜) 2.Fontaine maybe inspire by Italy. (Renaissance) 3. I believe Arlecchino is Pryo an Electro. Those singed handes are from explosion. You know eXplosion her eyes is X. explosion is exciting for villain. She may be a mad scientist. could be the the reference to Ursula from little mermaid. Deep sea creature. 4. Clorinde could be inspire by the flying dutchman. 5. the girl that burn the polaroid wore a black and white glove could be symbolize good and evil. You see she use the black glove to burn the polaroid. 6. We may meet Eula family in Fontaine. Her constellation is Aphros Delos, Aphros means sea-foam , Delos is a location in greece. Reference to art piece "The Birth Of Venus". Eula could be embodiment of Aphrodite.
@@JayDay04 me too. theres as much merit to the theory that he is blind as there is reason to just assume that he is not, so lets just wait until its official.
I remember seeing them in the Teyvat Chapter Storyline preview and I thought Cyno and the twins were just the coolest characters. I'm definitely leaning toward them playing a major part in the archon quest but we will see
That would make so much sense! Cause Egeria is the name for the Roman Nymph and the oceanids go on pilgrimages to visit her remains at the Vourukasha Oasis. So that connects the two cultural reference of Egeria. I wonder what the Ars Goetia name is though
I really hope so! Her design makes me think that she is going to be playable. It's not like Signora where her outfit/design has clipping and mobility issues. I also want her on my team when going through the abyss so she can tell me I'm not good enough at the game hahaha xD

Ohhhh that's a good point! Now that you mention it, Fontaine does have some art deco elements. So far loving the city's aesthetic :)
I also think that she is previous archon and now I even have some arguments
@@_3ero_241 Yeah the more I look into it the more I'm inclined to say Egeria was the former Archon.

Same I'm really excited to learn about these three!!! 2 Magician Spies and 1 Diver what a combo xD
This was like the first theory about them in 1.0 (that they were working for the Fatui).
I like theories outside of genshin in text lore they seem more fun connecting to real life events
I really like how hoyo connects lore to real life events/culture. It makes it really interesting.
