She never forgot or turned her back on where she came from. She did not join Hollywood in the bashing of the working class. She used her platform to reflect the lives majority of Americans are living. She lost opportunities and let herself be hated in the name of integrity. They know what the tweet said, they twisted it up because they hate what she was doing and still was refusing to play along. I don't know and she says she doesn't know how she got away with it for so long. It's a wonder they just fired her and not something worse. I'll miss the show but now she has a podcast where she expresses herself freely so IM happy with the trade. Roseanne is my hero!!!!!!!
Roseanne’s tweet was not about race. It was political, as Roseanne has mentioned numerous times. She was trying to comment on Iran, which is experiencing chaos in its streets as we speak. Roseanne believes Valerie, as a member of the Obama administration, had a role in the expansion of the Muslim brotherhood in places like Iran. The tweet had NOTHING to do with what the movie is called, and everything to do with what the movie is about. Planet of the Apes, the movie, is about overthrowing political despots (where the Apes rule and humans are their servants and either fight back or escape). And that is what some people of Iran are trying to do to their own government. People need to get past the word “Ape”. That had nothing to do with what Roseanne was trying to say. If the movie was called “waka maka waka” then that’s what she would have said, because what the movie is called was irrelevant to what she was trying to say. Again, Roseanne was comparing what she believes to be Valerie’s actions with the PLOT of the movie, not the name or characters in it.
When they gave her the ax, they should have let her leave with dignity. They could have had her character move to NYC and become a stand-up comedienne. Not die from an overdose! That was low down and dirty. I think what saddened her the most was how Sara Gilbert blasted her on Twitter. THEN, in interviews, pretended that she loved and missed her so much. Phoney.
And you think that a narrative of her going from a family that's barely hanging on, dependant on a government emergency handout at the end of that season, with her taking pills and being barely able to walk- to leave her entire family and suddenly become a comedy star: you see that working? Come on. I don't know why people think that the way they killed her character was undignified. She had a drug problem in the show, there's an opioid crisis that kills many just like her character. It's not like they had her fall into a lion den at the zoo or something. It was real, topical, and portrayed the character as she was, a flawed middle class woman, victim of the system who was loved and missed by her family. It was the best way they could have possibly done that.
The last season might’ve been wacky, but the finale made it all worthwhile. I wonder how long she had been cooking up that shocking ending, it probably took her some time to get it right. By the sound of this interview, it seems like she was still developing her plans on how it would end. It was a shocking and emotional ending, one that fans probably never saw coming. Roseanne is a genius.
Yale ruined Sara Gilbert. Scroll and Key. She was indoctrinated to spit in the face of the person who handed her everything on a silver platter. She's pure evil.
Roseanne is so beautiful! Thank you for uploading this!

Wish it never went off the air .
2 of the greatest interviewers, King and Roseanne! Great woman!
Interesting interview. I have loved her show for many years. It still makes me laugh watching the reruns.
Rosie. . . . The Absolute one and only.... No one can fire you . Shalom 🎇❤️⭐
She is so crazy so defiant so real. I hope she has a great comeback.

Thank you so much I absolutely love your explanation of this -

I don't know if Roseanne realized how beautiful she always was.

brilliant then & now... talking about how the news is fake, the enquirer is real & keep your kids privacy
When they won the lottery was really what killed the show.
Is the backgrond the San Fernando Valley?
or Hollywood

Look how she used to be treated
