I am from Ethiopia and Christian, I am listening to this every day because it helps me to relax. who cares about the meaning, the vibration is enough for me to relax.
we are all buddhists :)
Truth does not have a religion
"Hatred will never cease by hatred, hatred will cease by love, this is the eternal law" -Shakyamuni Buddha
"...the Tathagata has these ten Tathagata's powers, possessing which he claims the herd-leader's place, roars his lion's roar in the assemblies, and sets rolling the Wheel of Brahma..." MN 12
An eye for an eye makes whole world blind.
This is not exact translation. Actual should be, "Hatred will never cease by hatred, hatred will cease by non-hatred. This is the eternal law."
Non- hatred includes many other things.
Buddha choose words very attentively.

I feel nostalgic. I listened to this during lockdowns when I taking my first steps on the Buddhist path. Greetings from Finland, Namo Buddhaya ☸️🇫🇮
Di sini, Śāriputra, bentuk adalah kekosongan, kekosongan sungguh bentuk;
bentuk tidak berbeda dari kekosongan, kekosongan tidak berbeda dari bentuk;
tanpa timbul, tanpa berakhir; tanpa kemurnian, tanpa kotoran; tanpa kekurangan, tanpa kelengkapan.
Karena itu, Śāriputra, dalam kekosongan
tidak ada bentuk, tidak ada perasaan, tidak ada persepsi, tidak ada proses volisional, tidak ada kesadaran;
tidak ada mata, telinga, hidung, lidah, tubuh atau pikiran;
tidak ada bentuk, suara, bau, rasa, sentuhan, atau pemikiran;
tidak ada unsur mata (dan seterusnya) hingga tidak ada unsur kesadaran pikiran;
tidak ada ketidaktahuan, tidak ada penghancuran ketidaktahuan (dan seterusnya) hingga tidak ada usia tua dan kematian, tidak ada penghancuran usia tua dan kematian;
tidak ada penderitaan, timbulnya, berakhirnya, jalan;
mengatasi hambatan, ia mencapai keadaan Nirwana.
Semua Buddha yang tinggal dalam tiga waktu
melalui mengandalkan Kesempurnaan Kebijaksanaan
sepenuhnya sadar akan Pencerahan yang Sempurna dan Utama yang tak tertandingi.
Karena itu, satu harus mengetahui bahwa Kesempurnaan Kebijaksanaan adalah mantra besar,
mantra ilmiah besar, mantra tak tertandingi, mantra tak terpadu,
pengatasi semua penderitaan, kebenaran, bukan kebohongan.
Mantra ini telah diucapkan dalam Kesempurnaan Kebijaksanaan:
pergi, pergi, pergi melampaui, pergi sepenuhnya melampaui, Pencerahan, berkah!

Namaste my good friend...
while listening to this...I felt at home for a moment, that kind of home I don't know where it is...but sometimes I just feel like it exists, I rarely feel at home...thank you
me too felt at home..Home which I see as the Buddha's darma,I have been away from the darma(home) for some time,I swayed away being ignorant even tough I know the teaching..now I will pave my way back home again
good luck, you have my sympathy, because it's a long hard way, many don't want us to go there
that's how I was for 18 years
thank you, home is a feeling of comfort outside the thoughts(atleast for me is)
Dear Kilvasify, forgive me for getting into this discussion so late. I appreciate your dedication to the path. As a practicing Buddhist for many years I know how difficult the path can be. How hard it is to avoid and recover from distracting detours. But one one must recover and get back on the path. The words of the Prajna Paramita are so true. After experiencing this state for short periods of time on long silent retreats when I was one with my environment: no thoughts, no pain, just the sound of birds passing along no naming, no analysis. If this is what it means than for short periods of time I understood it. But to reach the state when this is prolonged would take more dedicated practice on my part.
One thing I would advise you: it is dangerous to make hierarchies of belief. If you have ever listened to Gregorian Chant you will realize the breath control that is necessary. It is the hierarchies by which humans create so much pain for other humans and all other creatures.
Wish everyone here to find peace within you!
When I first heard this chant my heart began to squeeze tears of joy and sorrow, both at once. as if a divine hand were massaging my heart center.

This is the most calming chant for me. Ageless and timeless.
I like this and compassion mantra the most
Heart sutra is a pure and great buddhist mantra, to reflect upon life as a piece of mirror or a pool of water, the chanting is a process to purify one's heart toward the right path, without confusion and egoism, just let it go, all the bad deeds and wrong thoughts, never dispute the meaning within the mantra, by not disputing, your heart will guide you to the fullest truth in life, to be in peace and blissful, end all suffering by not creating any further suffering.
'K
Buddha actually taught people to dispute everything, including his own teachings.
Exactly why i like his teachings because he also said that you have to take what is needed, instead of all of them. It's better to know some mantras that you know through and through than all of them halfway. This as far as i know the only one so hard that i truly try to practice and keep in my heart at all times even when it doesn't seems so. Long live the dharma, may it never die.

Just when I'm about to give up on God and Buddhist, I stumbled on this beautiful chant out of nowhere. Then it leads me to study further the meaning of the sutra. Never understood Buddhism until then. Guess it's not a coincidence that I found this video but enlightenment from the Divine? Life is so unpredictable....
May we be all buddhas. Namaste.
The Heart Sutra is part of the Wisdom (Prajna) Teachings of Buddhism. Please be careful not to misinterpret the words "void" or "empty" (Sanskrit; sunyata") they do not mean "nothing". The basic meaning is the potential for all things to have an impermanent existence. Like us we are here but in a constant state of change.
THE SUTRA OF THE HEART OF TRANSCENDANT KNOWLEDGE
Translated into English by the Nalanda Translation Committee, with reference to several
Sanskrit editions
Thus have I heard
Once the Blessed One was dwelling in Rajagrha at Vulture Peak mountain, together with a great gathering of the sangha of monks and a great gathering of the sangha of bodhisattvas. At that time the Blessed One entered the samadhi that expresses the dharma called profound illumination, and at the same time noble Avalokitesvara, the bodhisattva mahasattva, while practicing the profound prajnaparamita, saw in this way: he saw the five skandhas to be empty of nature.
Then, through the power of the Buddha, venerable Sariputra said to noble Avalokitesvara, the bodhisattva mahasattva, "How should a son or daughter of noble family train, who wishes the practice the profound prajnaparamita?"
Addressed in this way, noble Avalokitesvara, the bodhisattva mahasattva said to venerable Sariputra, "O, Sariputra, a son or daughter of noble family who wishes to practice the profound prajnaparamita should see in this way: seeing the five skandhas to be empty of nature. Form is emptiness; emptiness also is form. Emptiness is no other than form; form is no other than emptiness. In the same way, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are emptiness. Thus, Sariputra, all dharmas are emptiness. There are no characteristics. There is no birth and no cessation. There is no impurity and no purity. There is no decrease and no increase. Therefore, Sariputra, in emptiness, there is no form, no feeling, no perception, no formation, no consciousness; no eye, no ear, no nose, no tongue, no body, no mind; no appearance, no sound, no smell, no taste, no touch, no dharmas; no eye dhatu up to no mind dhatu, no dhatu of dharmas, no mind consciousness dhatu; no ignorance, no end of ignorance up to no old age and death, no end of old age and death; no suffering, no origin of suffering, no cessation of suffering, no path, no wisdom, no attainment, and no nonattainment. Therefore, Sariputra, since the bodhisattvas have no attainment, they abide by means of prajnaparamita. Since there is no obscuration of mind, there is no fear. They transcend falsity and attain complete nirvana. All the buddhas of the three times, by means of prajnaparamita, fully awaken to unsurpassable, true, complete enlightenment. Therefore, the great mantra of prajnaparamita, the mantra of great insight, the unsurpassed mantra, the unequaled mantra, the mantra that calms all suffering, should be known as truth, since there is no deception. The prajnaparamita mantra is said in this way:
OM GATE GATE PARAGATE PARASAMGATE BODHI SVAHA
Thus, Sariputra, the bodhisattva mahasattva should train in the profound prajnaparamita."
Then the Blessed One arose from that samadhi and praised noble Avalokitesvara, the bodhisattva mahasattva, saying, "Good, good, O son of noble family; thus it is, O son of noble family, thus it is. One should practice the profound prajnaparamita just as you have taught and all the tathagatas will rejoice."
When the Blessed One has said this, venerable Sariputra and noble Avalokitesvara, the bodhisattva mahasattva, that whole assembly and the world with its gods, humans, asuras, and gandharvas rejoiced and praised the words of the Blessed One.
Thich Nhat Hạnh writes: Avalokiteshvara’s mantra is “Gate gate paragate parasamgate bodhi svaha.”
Gate means gone. Gone from suffering to the liberation from suffering. Gone from forgetfulness to mindfulness.
- Gone from duality into nonduality. Gate gate means gone, gone. Paragate means gone all the way to the other shore. So this mantra is said in a very strong way. Gone, gone, gone all the way over. In parasamgate, sam means everyone, the Sangha, the entire community of beings.
Everyone gone over to the other shore. Bodhi is the light inside, enlightenment, or awakening. You see it and the vision of reality liberates you. ---And svaha is a cry of joy or excitement, like “ah!” or “hurrah!” or “hallelujah!” “Gone, gone, gone all the way over, everyone gone to the other shore, enlightenment!”
That is what the bodhisattva uttered.
When we listen to this mantra, we should bring ourselves into that state of attention and concentration, so that we can receive the strength emanated by Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva.
- We do not recite the Heart Sutra like singing a song, or with our intellect alone. If you practice the meditation on emptiness, if you penetrate the nature of interbeing with all your heart, your body, and your mind, you will realize a state that is quite concentrated. If you say the mantra then, with all your being, the mantra will have power and you will be able to
have real communication, real communion with Avalokiteshvara, and you will be able to transform yourself in the direction of enlightenment.
--This text is not just for chanting, or to be put on an altar for worship. It is given to us as a tool to work for our liberation, for the liberation of all beings. It is like a tool for farming, given to us so that we may farm. This is the gift of Avalokita.
--There are three kinds of gifts. The first is the gift of material resources.The second is the gift of knowledge, the gift of the Dharma. The third, the highest kind of gift, is the gift of non-fear. Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva is someone who can help us liberate ourselves from fear. This is the heart of the Prajñaparamita. Svaha!
Thich Nhat Hạnh
Thus nothingness is the impermanence. the concepts are interchangable in Indian philosophical context..

"Prajna Paramita " is undoubtly the pure and higher principle/sutra of Buddhism which shows us the way to enlightment..we'r all into the realm of sufferings of this samsara due to our own ignorances ...There is this metarialistic world outside where man eats man on one hand, and on the other hand there is the teachings of all religion based on the compassion,generosity and so on...So sometimes it's very difficult to cope with all the situations going around...Nevertheless,i'm not alone ...May Avalokiteswora Boddhisattva bless us with the strength to carry ourselves beyond this shore to that shore ..
you are so right..

Deochan Ramkhelawan
In short, life is emptiness!
Just search Heart Sutra. It is actually yes about Emptiness, however it is not void of anything. Anything and everything are impermanent, such that nothing should be hold on to as attachment. Attachment is an aggregate to suffering, as fear will set in to cling on what is presumed permanent but aren't.
Heart Sutra is about reliance, a total surrender of what is evident and now, in this moment. Even that moment is not even permanent. Something in you, your presence, remains, unmoving, and conscious. Steady and eternal, unshakable and pure. Stay with it, and rely on the pureness of all unfolding circumstances to be the path towards Nirvana. Trust it with an expansive knowing.
"When the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara."
"Was Coursing in the Deep Prajna Paramita."
"He Perceived That All Five Skandhas Are Empty."
"Thus He Overcame All Ills and Suffering."
"Oh, Sariputra, Form Does not Differ From Emptiness,
And Emptiness Does Not Differ From Form.
Form itself is Emptiness and Emptiness itself is Form;
The Same is True For Feelings,
Perceptions, Volitions and Consciousness."
"Sariputra, the Characteristics of Emptiness of All Dharmas
Are Non-Arising, Non-Ceasing, Non-Defiled,
Non-Pure, Non-Increasing, Non-Decreasing."
"Therefore, in Emptiness There Are No Forms,
No Feelings, Perceptions, Volitions or Consciousness."
"No Eye, Ear, Nose, Tongue, Body or Mind;
No Form, Sound, Smell, Taste, Touch or Mind Object;
No Realm of the Eye,
Until We Come to No realm of Consciousness."
"No ignorance and Also No Ending of Ignorance,
Until We Come to No Old Age and Death and
No Ending of Old Age and Death."
"Also, There is No Truth of Suffering,
Of the Cause of Suffering,
Of the Cessation of Suffering, Nor of the Path."
"There is No Wisdom, and There is No Attainment Whatsoever."
"Because There is Nothing to Be Attained,
