Unfortunately, Carol found out about the burners offscreen. Remy mentioned them in a throw-away line when he and Carol were watching Genet's soldiers execute people and then turn them into variants. He said something about how people think the burners were an early part of the experiments and escaped into the wild, so to speak. Which implied that he'd already told her about them in a conversation we didn't get to see. It's a shame. I would have loved to have seen her reaction to them for the first time.
