    About your questions on why they don´t just leave, i get it, but think about it, this is the first place they´ve felt they were safe, the farm is away from the cities and it is not just a camp (like the one they were in which was attacked). After the camp attack, they were on the road which is the most dangerous place, so it is obvious that once they found a safe place like the farm, leaving is not such an easy option, specially taking into account that Hershel is a doctor, and Lori is pregnant, they need him. But yes, totally true they should respect Hershel´s way of doing things

    It goes deeper than just “they own the farm” clearly Hershel doesn’t understand the state of the world. Hershel and his family haven’t endured or witnessed what Rick and the group have. Maggie couldn’t even fight for herself against one walker. They’re so naive to the apocalypse and are wasting resources feeding zombies.

    • @PhilipManzano
      @PhilipManzano  4 месяца назад +8

      I've heard this argument a few times, and I guess I understand where you're coming from..
      But at the same time, its not Rick's group's obligation or responsibility to educate them about that. Unless this is a hostile takeover of the Greene's property, then the group always have the option of leaving if they don't like what's being done. It's the entitlement to the farm/property/resources/meds that I never understood.
      One of the rare times I agreed with Shane when he suggested that they just leave haha.

    Ok, so i just have to say, you both keep saying the group need to listen to Hershel or leave the farm. Hershel from the start straight up said he didn't want the group to have/use gun's on his land. Dale knew what Shane was going to do which is why he hid the gun's and because he knew that Hershel would want them to leave if they used gun's. Dale actually did what you both said the group should do by listening to what Hershel said. Also when Dale was talking to Hershel about the walkers in the barn, Hershel asked Dale if he was sure he could trust everyone in their group and obviously Dale doesn't trust shane, which is why he hid the guns.

    • @PhilipManzano
      @PhilipManzano  4 месяца назад +1

      Yeah, that’s fair. The issue we have with Dale in this situation is that he did this without consulting anyone. He thought he knew what was best and did it without a word. A theme we noticed with him and dislike.
      A very real scenario here is that a herd comes through and no one knows where those guns are because they didn’t consent to that decision. Or it happens and then they have to run to some random spot in the forest to play hide and seek with walkers while looking for weapons.
      If they all talked about it and agreed, then sure. But he’s far from being the leader of the group and that was a huuuge (and potentially dangerous) move to make.

    • @nh9894
      @nh9894 4 месяца назад +1

      @@PhilipManzano ok, he did make a decision without consulting the group which I do agree was wrong but he's human and made a mistake.
      He was only thinking of the fact that Shane couldn't be trusted with the guns at that point. I do believe he would have told Rick where he hid the guns but obviously Shane tracked him down before he could hide them.
      I think Dale was just hiding them until the problem with the walkers in the barn was discussed properly with Hershel. Also tbh, if anything was gonna cause a walker herd to come through the farm, it would be all that gun fire as we know sound attracts them.
      Anyway we can agree to disagree about some things but I still love your reactions and will keep watching for sure. I also love Dale and even though he makes mistakes and is a little nosey, it definitely all comes from a good place, he's the kindest person imo. ❤️👍🏻

    I don’t know how you guys think it’s so easy for the survivors to just leave the farm. Cause where are they supposed to go? Just because Shane had a theory that Fort Benning is safe doesn’t mean they would risk that and leave the only safe haven they’ve been able to find. So of course they’d be critical of Hershel’s delusional and dangerous ways and try to change them instead of leaving and being forced back onto the road again IMO.

    • @PhilipManzano
      @PhilipManzano  4 месяца назад +3

      Nothing about it is easy -- But it's not theirs. Just because it's hard -- and extremely dangerous-- doesn't give them a right to tell someone else how to use their resources or what rules should or should not be followed, at least not if they want to play nice about it.
      They can be critical all they want of the Greene's beliefs. It still doesn't give them claim to something that is literally not theirs. To act as entitled as they have is weird; even in this world. Either play by the rules of the house, leave, or turn heel and take it from them.
      But to think it's okay to guilt a family into doing things the way you want them done, especially after they have been so generous already. That's delusional too.

    • @patmcconnell9956
      @patmcconnell9956 4 месяца назад +2

      @@PhilipManzano I get that but we all know how wrong Hershel was about the walkers and how unsafe he was making his farm and family. If Rick’s group left then Hershel’s family would have no doubt been screwed cause they’d keep trying to spare/lock up walkers since they have not seen the world for what it became. I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect that everyone from Rick’s group would prioritize manners and courtesy to Hershel “owning” the farm over their own safety. The fact that the farm isn’t “theirs” is irrelevant. It’s the apocalypse now and their lives are on the line. And considering the fact that other groups would have just killed Hershel’s family to take over the farm for themselves, Rick’s been entirely reasonable, at least IMO.
      I get what you mean and obviously the show is trying to portray both sides of the Rick/Hershel debate in a manner that viewers can empathize with both. It just seems like you only side with Hershel’s perspective and both groan and roll your eyes whenever anyone from Rick’s group expresses the completely reasonable desire to protect the farm better than Hershel has. And if that's all he did, I think he would be one of my favorite characters. My issue with him in this world is his decision-making, and his willingness to take other people's choice away by acting selfishly -- or doing things that he thinks is right without consulting others.
      The Andrea scenario was self-explanatory, and he had no right to force her hand like that. This hiding of the guns (without telling a soul) puts everyone in danger, and also takes away people's own right to protect themselves. He can have an ideal way of thinking people should act, but he can't force that on people. And I think people tend to give him a pass because he's nice. But those are serious character flaws and can really harm a group. A group that he is not the leader of.

      Yeah, I can understand that perspective -- but it kinda underlines why I feel the way that I do. They are taking/using A LOT of resource that do not belong to them. Purely from the generosity of this family. They are taking advantage of them because of that "delusion".
      You're right, there might not be another place with all these resources -- so play ball and follow the rules of the house. Or leave and take your chances..Or just be straight up about it and forcefully take it over.

    Hello again👋it's been a while since we talked about the future of the walking dead on your channel, i hope your wife is enjoying the walking dead so far. i know its still kinda early, the channel barely dipped it toes in the water as the saying goes with the walking dead universe.But i have to ask how serious are y'all taking the walking dead? im asking because i have been around on RUclips for a nearly a decade I've seen lots of walking dead reactors come and go without finishing the walking dead show, if you're in it from start to finish i have another option on the table, this option is big enough to cover the whole table like Thanksgiving dinner.
    i was hesitant on bringing this idea forward because i don't want you to feel overwhelmed, i don't know your schedule or how much free time ya'll have but i ultimately decided it can be early to do something now but it's never to early to think about it or to take it into consideration. I want to know if you're all in for the walking dead, are ya'll going to react to the spinoff show "Fear the walking dead"? It's an intergal part of the overall story that sets into the same universe as the walking dead, i highly recommend ya'll start reacting to fear the walking dead when y'all begin the 5th season of the walking dead. The reason im bringing this to you now because there will be a crossover episode between fear the walking dead and the walking dead in the timeline after season 8 and right before season 9 of the walking dead show
    there is a little prequel section because season 9 of the walking dead will go through a time jump, certain characters will dissappear from the main show to crossover into fear the walking dead so you are going to be confused about the whereabouts of specific characters if you're only sticking to the main show. Seaon 4 episode 1 of fear of the walking dead is the crossover episode, so you should postpone season 4 of fear the walking dead until you finish the 8th season of the main show. if y'all decided at any point to discontinue fear the walking dead after the 4th of its season, then that's totally fine. There are other spinoffs but that is a discussion at a later date. i think bringing this option is enough option for today, i hope you and your wife have a wonderful day.

      Just for accuracy, really. I've watched it all the way through to at least season 7 or 8. But it was a whiiile back. If we say that it's a first time watch, then we'd just keep getting called out about how it isn't a first time watch for me.
      The RUclips comment section is a funny place haha. You can never win.

    It's a weird thing to say that you guys are several episodes ahead or even 1 season ahead of this video makes it seem like more then likely the both of you watched this entire series before and are only doing a rewatch

    • @PhilipManzano
      @PhilipManzano  4 месяца назад +1

      Interesting. Never actually heard that take.
      I think it’s actually quite a common thing amongst RUclips reactors. But maybe it’s just the ones I watch.
      Regardless, genuine first time watch for my wife. And a rewatch from me (after only seeing it once during its live run years back).

      @@PhilipManzano I mean think about it for a second, If you are watching any kind of TV series and you upload a video of a season 1 episode whatever and claim in that video that you are further ahead on another account, Call me dumb but doesn't that make it seem like you have watched the show before and are only doing a rewatch?

    • @PhilipManzano

      It’s pretty simple. We watch and edit a video, post it to Patreon and then that same video comes to RUclips a month or so later. And because we have calendars, we know exactly how far ahead we’ll be whenever we watch a particular episode (so yeah, we say it every video haha).
      That’s literally it 🤷🏻‍♂️ I don’t know what else to tell you haha.

      Haha I still don’t get why this opinion has triggered so many people.
      I feel like it’s pretty simple.
      Either stay and respect the rules of the man who has literally sacrificed resources (medical supplies, shelter, food, water, extra clothes, etc), comfort, time and effort for these complete strangers.. or leave if they don’t like it/don’t feel safe around the barn.
      Even the option of just forcefully taking the farm from Herschel is better than what they are doing - at least then they’re being honest about their intentions.
      We agree that it’s better for the group to stay on the farm. But they happened upon this place. It doesn’t mean they’re entitled to it.

      @@PhilipManzano I think because of a real life situation you both weren't wrong in feeing that way.
      Also in reality it's a scary to take humans in you don't know as much as hiding your zombie family you think is just sick.
      Part of it was religion confusion.
      They were closed off to the real world. Now that the real world was gone. They didn't see it for what it was or is.
      I think this episode showed that well at the end. Especially the girl at the end who they'd been searching for.

    Your Dale hate is so ugly. He is the kindest, wisest person thus far. Until Herschel quits being the person you act like Dale is....but isnt.

    • @PhilipManzano
      @PhilipManzano  4 месяца назад +2

      Aw, it's really not that deep. We just think he's made some really selfish choices in the past, and unfortunately, he gets the butt of those jokes. You're right, he is probably the kindest. This is probably why it feels like he's an outsider in this group/world -- and by extension, to us who are immersed in it.
      At the end of the day, we're just having some fun. If you've been watching with us all the way to 2x7, hopefully you can see through that and notice that it's just our style. We love the show and the character progression. Dale is just.. Dale.
