One of the things that I loved about Theo and Didi (the old couple), they mistook Carol for Isabelle. Daryl and Carol did not correct them and played along. It gave much more weight to Didi's and Carol's conversation as they were preparing dinner together. Didi was very observant of Daryl and "Isabelle" (Carol) and how Daryl looks at her. The conversation at the car was everything. I feel this story with Daryl, Laurent and Isabelle, was much like Carol, Henry and Ezekiel. This was Daryl's Kingdom arc (abbreviated of course). I love that Daryl told Carol he never stopped trying to get home to her.

Daryl never told Issa he loved her back, and never confirmed he loved her when Carol asked. Carol has had 2 relationships (Zeke and Tobin), and now so has Daryl (Leah and Issa).
Killing Isabelle was fucking silly, they could've developed the bond more and given us the kiss and I love you in the last episode leading to S3, but no, they had to rush everything from "We barely know eachother to happy family" in 3 episodes just to kill her off smh. Nicotero did amazing on this episode though, the foggy creepy vibes were so cool and Genet's death with the animatronic head was one of my favourites in all TWD history. Good to see them back together, tho, I cried like a baby with that hug 😭
My hope is that the writers knew it maybe wasn’t the best time to say anything important, and that later on it’s actually something massive. Otherwise what a waste of a buildup.

Daryl has had mixed emotions about staying or leaving for awhile. I think he had mixed emotions about the I love you too. I liked Isabell, but it didn't kill me that she was killed off. Loved the reunion, loved Carol and Codron working togeather, loved Genet's death. I got what I wanted.

SPOILER - when i watched the episode yesterday, i wasnt even sad initially that isabelle died, i was just angry that the writers had to kill her off.. daryl deserved some happiness and it looked like he finally had it. only for it to be taken away 10 minutes after he got an 'i love you'.

This has been a really frustrating season, I really liked the environment and the cast that they set up in season 1 and now basically all of them are gone. Also not trying to make any accusations but it's not a good look that the whole female main cast sans Carol was just wiped out across the last two episodes

I think killing Isabelle was the lazy thing to do. They could have written it in a far less predictable way and keep her alive to create a new dynamic between Carol and Daryl rather than kill her off to make space for their screen-time. Killing Isabelle and Genet in the same episode was the easy way out to give Carol and Daryl more screen-time together. I'm just disappointed after such a strong start to the second season and building up the characters only to kill them. Isabelle's death could have been more meaningful, but all she does is scratch his face, and get saved by Carol (which I did like). Love your reactions as ever x
Agreed. One of the biggest problem every Walking Dead series has had is just killing every good character off before we even have time to get used to them. Isabelle was the first interesting new character in years. The writers haven't a clue, not everyone needs to be killed.

I was very mixed on this episode. Love the Daryl and Carol reunion and all the stuff with them talking. But I hated Isabelle death so much. It was such a frustrating death and kinda unnecessary as well. It was just such a lazy way to kill off a big character like that. Madame Genet death was awesome though.

It would have been interesting to see her go to America with Daryl, Carol and Laurent, yeah this storyline is giving TLOU vibes especially with the added element of Laurent's possible immunity to The Walker virus, curious to see if he's truly immune but I don't think allowing him to be bitten is the safest way of finding out in case he's not immune, hopefully Daryl and Carol find him before Losang.

He freaked out in that cave, he must have gone into “save Laurent for Issa” mode. But I did think he should have/ would have shown more emotion than we saw. But like others have said, the season is so rushed there isn’t enough time for things to be fleshed out properly.
I really don't think it's necessary for Daryl to know what "I love you" is in French. He is a pretty rough kind of guy who's more into the nitty gritty stuff. He has only learned when he was forced to or put into bad situations. I've studied linguistics for 7+ years and I speak 4 languages, but the only thing I know in French is "baguette" lmao

I don't think the super walker serum has an effect if a walker that has the serum in them bites a person and they turn. I think that person just becomes a regular walker.
MY BIGGEST GRIPE with all of twd spinoffs is they let NO new characters breath man. Every new character ive ever become attached to in twd spinoffs that are even remotely likeable are killed off. Dead city killed off literally every side character except the bad guys, the daryl show killed off every side character but axel, and laurant. TWDTOWL killed off every single side character they introduced plus like 5k nobodies in the finale. like cmon how much more interesting would the ones who live be if okafor, thorn, and nate were still alive and played stronger roles in those shows. Its simple. The ones who live needed far more time to flesh everything out. towl shouldnt and never should have been a "love" story in the first place. in universe Rick had been gone a decade, they should've DELVED far deeper with the crm in the ones who live. WE NEED MORE SIDE CHARACTERS TO BE INVESTED IN. i swear it feels like they try to kill our interest in TWDU so fucking hard.

I love this show, but it keeps breaking my heart. The writers killed off Sylvie and now Isabelle. I have to watch this season with tissues. Then Theo makes a deal but Genet's men still killed Didi. I'm so happy that Daryl and Carol finally reunited. I love watching them work together because they're like a deadly brother & sister duo of walker killers. I'm also glad that Madame Genet got what she deserved. Karma is a bitch! I feel like there's a theme in these new Walking Dead spinoffs. Each one ( Daryl Dixon, Dead City and The Ones Who Live) introduces characters we come to care about only to kill them off. This really has me totally in my feelings. Killing off isabelle is a dumb thing to do, leah is dead and we are probably never going to see connie again, daryl will be alone for the rest of his days and have you noticed a lot of people are saying they are more excited for dead city than this show now especially after seeing the trailer for season 2
Although I liked Isabelle, and her relationship with Daryl, I'm still a diehard Connie/Daryl shipper. I loved the fact that this spinoff has deliberately mentioned Connie's name twice now. Carol mentioned only her and Judith in ep 4, and Daryl mentioned her name to Laurent last season. There's still hope for Donnie.
Katie….yes Carol has always had her ears pierced but those are different earrings. This was my favourite episode to but I’m still struggling with the show, as much as I love Daryl there is something off. 😢

Killed off the best character from Season 1 and slowly the show feels more like TWD standard stuff and not in a good way, season 1 was a breath of fresh air, now we are back to the boring Daryl/Carol stuff that has been overdone for 14 years, season 2 has been a let down, and Carol has in my opinion not added anything to the show and in my opinion brought the season down, as her side story was so bland compared to Daryl's story.
I didn't like Isabelle either I actually didn't even watch season 1 because I didn't want to see Daryl with newer characters especially another woman because the only woman I want to see Daryl with is Carol so when I heard that Carol was going to be in Season 2 I knew I was going to watch her look for Daryl!

I've been watching this, and while France has some great cinematography, the story is cliche, in the woods of Georgia rehash. Daryl Dixon isn't badd ass anymore. Norman Redus seems tired of acting, and the little French messiah kid is boring and comes across as feminine more than French. The writers keep introducing the same type of villains they had in Atlanta, except here, they speak French. I fall asleep trying to watch this and Rick and Michone The Ones Who Live. The Walking Dead ending when Rick allowed Negan to punk him so bad when he first met Negan! Andrew Lincoln is a great actor, but he took his fear too far and was screaming and crying while Negan punked him! And that killed the show, because it killed the image of the hero of the show. They may as well have killed Rick off, because they killed his role!

yeah i think it's an issue with such a short season. some things feel super rushed, and there isn't much time to breathe.

He freaked out in that cave, he must have gone into “save Laurent for Issa” mode. But I did think he should have/ would have shown more emotion than we saw.
But like others have said, the season is so rushed there isn’t enough time for things to be fleshed out properly.

I really don't think it's necessary for Daryl to know what "I love you" is in French. He is a pretty rough kind of guy who's more into the nitty gritty stuff. He has only learned when he was forced to or put into bad situations. I've studied linguistics for 7+ years and I speak 4 languages, but the only thing I know in French is "baguette" lmao

French was stopped teaching in my school in high school right before I got to it. I learned Spanish .. I didn’t catch the I love you part until I saw the subtitles . She should’ve told him if not then.. then on this episode
Daryl didn't show enough emotion to losing Isabell, he has shown so much more in the original show for people he wasn't in love with and the zombies were manmade we learned that in world beyond
I noticed that too. I wondered if the new writers were trying to show that he can’t feel the loss because he has Laurent to take care of. I hope he breaks down later. Isabelle doesn’t deserve to be forgotten like that.

I don't think the super walker serum has an effect if a walker that has the serum in them bites a person and they turn. I think that person just becomes a regular walker.
MY BIGGEST GRIPE with all of twd spinoffs is they let NO new characters breath man. Every new character ive ever become attached to in twd spinoffs that are even remotely likeable are killed off. Dead city killed off literally every side character except the bad guys, the daryl show killed off every side character but axel, and laurant. TWDTOWL killed off every single side character they introduced plus like 5k nobodies in the finale. like cmon how much more interesting would the ones who live be if okafor, thorn, and nate were still alive and played stronger roles in those shows. Its simple. The ones who live needed far more time to flesh everything out. towl shouldnt and never should have been a "love" story in the first place. in universe Rick had been gone a decade, they should've DELVED far deeper with the crm in the ones who live. WE NEED MORE SIDE CHARACTERS TO BE INVESTED IN. i swear it feels like they try to kill our interest in TWDU so fucking hard.
I hate them for kilin of Isabelle like this. She was kinda boring in season 1 but then she grew on me. She deserved better. I hate how the next scene Daryl and Carol were just joking around. Like her death didnt happen.

I love this show, but it keeps breaking my heart. The writers killed off Sylvie and now Isabelle. I have to watch this season with tissues. Then Theo makes a deal but Genet's men still killed Didi. I'm so happy that Daryl and Carol finally reunited. I love watching them work together because they're like a deadly brother & sister duo of walker killers. I'm also glad that Madame Genet got what she deserved. Karma is a bitch! I feel like there's a theme in these new Walking Dead spinoffs. Each one ( Daryl Dixon, Dead City and The Ones Who Live) introduces characters we come to care about only to kill them off. This really has me totally in my feelings. Killing off isabelle is a dumb thing to do, leah is dead and we are probably never going to see connie again, daryl will be alone for the rest of his days and have you noticed a lot of people are saying they are more excited for dead city than this show now especially after seeing the trailer for season 2
Although I liked Isabelle, and her relationship with Daryl, I'm still a diehard Connie/Daryl shipper. I loved the fact that this spinoff has deliberately mentioned Connie's name twice now. Carol mentioned only her and Judith in ep 4, and Daryl mentioned her name to Laurent last season. There's still hope for Donnie.
Katie….yes Carol has always had her ears pierced but those are different earrings. This was my favourite episode to but I’m still struggling with the show, as much as I love Daryl there is something off. 😢

Killed off the best character from Season 1 and slowly the show feels more like TWD standard stuff and not in a good way, season 1 was a breath of fresh air, now we are back to the boring Daryl/Carol stuff that has been overdone for 14 years, season 2 has been a let down, and Carol has in my opinion not added anything to the show and in my opinion brought the season down, as her side story was so bland compared to Daryl's story.
I know I'm supposed to like Issy but she was so dull.
I didn't like Isabelle either I actually didn't even watch season 1 because I didn't want to see Daryl with newer characters especially another woman because the only woman I want to see Daryl with is Carol so when I heard that Carol was going to be in Season 2 I knew I was going to watch her look for Daryl!

I've been watching this, and while France has some great cinematography, the story is cliche, in the woods of Georgia rehash. Daryl Dixon isn't badd ass anymore. Norman Redus seems tired of acting, and the little French messiah kid is boring and comes across as feminine more than French. The writers keep introducing the same type of villains they had in Atlanta, except here, they speak French. I fall asleep trying to watch this and Rick and Michone The Ones Who Live. The Walking Dead ending when Rick allowed Negan to punk him so bad when he first met Negan! Andrew Lincoln is a great actor, but he took his fear too far and was screaming and crying while Negan punked him! And that killed the show, because it killed the image of the hero of the show. They may as well have killed Rick off, because they killed his role!
