In this video What High School College Bound Seniors Should Be Doing Immediately, we talk about all the things senior students in high school should be doing as soon as possible to help their admissions chances.
Get on the Virtual Tours & Info Sessions. Virtual campus tours are a great way to get a better sense of what a certain school offers and what the vibe is like. However, it's not a perfect replacement for an in-person visit where you can see the buildings for yourself, walk around campus, see students going to and from classes, etc. Main Essays & Supplemental Essays A college essay is a piece of writing that responds to a given prompt, either on the Common Application, Coalition Application, or on a school's individual application. College essays can range anywhere from 50 to 800 words. There are two main types of college essays: personal statements and supplemental essays. A college application always includes an application form-online or on paper. Most colleges require additional items, such as your child's high school transcript, their entrance exam scores, a personal essay, and letters of recommendation. Some colleges ask that applicants take part in an interview.

Great starting point for college bound students and parents. Trust me, I know all too well how this process could be so overwhelming.

Hi Ed, thanks for all that you do! I heard that there are greater benefits to applying directly via school application procedures vs. common app. Do you know it this is true?

Hi Ed. My daughter is considering UMass. Her sat superstore is 1200. She is at the very low end of the median sat score that UMass will accept. 88% of students send their sat scores to Umass. Should she send? Should she retake? Or should she not send? Thanks!
