    Thank you so much man. I had to remove my distributor to access something below it, and since i have never done it before I did not know to mark it, and when i re-installed the car wouldn't start. Now i can sleep tonight knowing ill be able to fix this in the morning!

    I just pulled my distributor off to replace all the seals, cap, rotor, external ignition coil ect. Turned the shaft a whole bunch and didnt mark the head that goes into the engine when I pulled the pin and snap ring off. Now I have to do what you describe in the video to find TDC and then if it still wont work, flip the head on the distributor 180* with the pin and snap ring. 95% sure that will do so just leaving a like a head of time

    On the b series the dizzy fork has 2 different sizes on the fork. It wont fit the other way around. Is this different for h motors? There is no need to check the marks. Only use the marks to put on the belt on or check with your timing light

    Hello Sir, thank you very mich for the video i made sure to subscribe and like it since you deserve it, could you please tell me, near at the end at 10:21, how to make it right though, since you said that the crankshaft is at TDC, than the distributor wasnt aligned correctly, i got a little lost there, thank you
    As edit:,i guess after this you had to turn over almost 360° the crankshaft to get to correct TDC before you installed the belt on the camshaft?

    Hey bro I have a question when you do the timing on the ignition for the distributor with the light gun do you have to ground out these one connections and bypassum I'm doing it on a Honda prelude 5th generation h22 the timing is reading at 16° cuz my tuner said it to that but the car takes a while to start up and before I had it on the whole in the middle but I don't remember what degree it was back then and he timed it without doing the connection bypass he just hooked up the light and didn't but I think he's not reading how it is

  • @eaglehigh-h3e

    Really a very good video. I can follow you so well up to 8min. After that, I start to lose you. You said intake stroke vs exhaust stroke. Why did you say this? I don't think I understand. Doesn't TDC happen on compression and exhaust strokes? Are you trying to say it should be TDC on compression and not exhaust stroke? And the timing mark, at 1st it cannot be seen and suddenly it's obvious. How did you do that? You did not show.

    • @wisemonkey1551
      @wisemonkey1551  4 года назад

      @KangoKid Kidd check that you have spark by taking a wire plug off and ground it to the exhaust or body and crank. Or just use a light to test if you have one. Number 1 cylinder is the furthest from the dizzy. You need to - 1. set #1 to top dead center. 2. Check timing marks to verify its TDC. 3. Have the dizzy rotor face the right pole (#1). 4. Make sure there is spark of course. 5. You must have a known good dizzy.

    • @wisemonkey1551
      @wisemonkey1551  4 года назад

      you can try that. also watch the entire video carefully, it will tell you all the steps. make sure you have spark going through the plugs wires.

    Y’all are hyping this guy up when he isn’t intelligent! You cannot install the distributor 180 degrees off, it may sorta look like you can, however the slot is offset, and always has been. Next he’s using wire twists. No decent auto repair facility would ever hire someone who’s work looked like a cave man did repairs. If you dropped this car off at the dealer and after picking it up you opened the hood and saw this, you’d be wow these people are intelligent??? No you wouldn’t
