What's weird to the rest of the world, is that gun sales go up after mass shootings in the US. Most other countries would make stricter gun laws, like in New Zealand. Heck in Denmark, you have to be an active member of a shooting club, before you can even apply to have a firearm, and still then, there are strict laws of how they are to be stored.

“Common sense” gun laws do not address the underlying issues when it comes to these kinds of incidents.
I am more than certain those who are against civilians owning rifles are completely misinformed about them and have fallen victim to the fear the media pushes.
A maniac looking to kill as many people as they can with a rifle is a relatively new (~30 years old) phenomenon.
For more years than not, we had LESS legislation when it comes to gun. You could literally buy brand new assault rifles (not “assault weapons” [semi auto rifles we have today] I mean real full auto rifles used in WW2, Korea, Vietnam. The vast majority of the 20th century). You could buy a gun and have it delivered to your house. You could buy guns without any background checks (for all purchases).
But now we have even more legislation against guns and this behavior is more common now than it was back then? How is it the presence and or ease to get a firearm the issue?

No I think you're more misinformed about why we want strict gun laws, than what you believe we are misinformed about guns in general. Because a good amount of us pushing for strict gun laws, are gun owners dimwit. Right wingers don't have exclusive rights to owning guns. We want gun laws that make it harder for Joe Schmoe, with a mental problem, to buy a gun period. If you're a responsible gun owner these laws will effect you at all. Just like with vehicles, if you're not a responsible driver you don't get to drive. If you're not a responsible gun owner, you shouldn't be allowed to use a gun period.

@@austinkylereid there is already a black market fur every gun out there. But Australia prived that when a gun becomes banned in a country, the black market increases the price of the gun being banned. Making it harder for your average mugger, without a penny to their name, to buy a gun to mug people with. Or it makes it harder for your everyday teenager, to afford a gun, on the same day they decide to shoot up a school. Mental ussues do need to be addressed. But thst neans incirperating socialist ideologies into our givernment inorder to address the memtal oriblem on a national scale. Which intells setting up programs that fund facilities, using tax payers money, to help thise that cant afford to seek help on their own. Now remeber this, it was a Republican, President Reagan, that funding to me tal hospitals. Reagan was the first Right winger to switch the political spectrum within the parties. That was the administration the Republican party became the RepubliKKKlan party by pandering to Dixie viters thag used to be Democrats vefire the civil rights act was passed and was the main group thag started the KKK while they were part of thd Democratic party.
