Those red ports are called diffusers, and their role is to speed up airflow underneath the head reducing its pressure, creating a difference in pressure between the upper and lower surfaces of the head. That means there will be more down force at impact and the duffers will end up hitting it fat.
Ended up buying a new driver at the beginning of this season. Narrowed it down to the g400 max and the f9. It was a tough decision, but I ended up getting the g400 max. But I did end up getting the f9 3 wood and love it.
I just ordered the cobra f9 today. Can’t wait to get it to try it out. Sending back the m3 that I purchased and there was some issues with it and as a thank you for being a customer the company upgraded me to a brand new f9 at night additional charge. Can not wait.
Rick iv been using the F9 since last jan, the longest a driver has ever been in my bag! Its by far the best driver all around iv ever used! (Thanks to your review on it) So when your video poped up and I saw the heading I was like wow so pumped to watch it! Stopped what I was doing and got rid of any distractions Half way through I realized its a pre production model.. 🙄.. Lol Cant wait for the Real test... I currently live in México and have no access where im located to new products etc so I rely alot on your reviews we are very similar Thx 🤘

Looks sweet in Matte Black and White! I'd choose that everyday over the Black and Yellow. Then again - I'm 51 years old and like a more classic look to my clubs.
I just came to see the price. I will keep supporting Cobra because I feel like they are giving me more for the price. And that is what I want to support right now. I am tired of prices increasing for golf clubs.
Cobra first utilized this face roll to crown on its 2006 DWS Baffler Hybrid the stainless steel bar definately elimnated sky marks and help align the club face. I always wondered why they didn't design their drivers that way.
The yellow looks good. I think they did an excellent job again. You can choose the white if you don’t like yellow but I can see many liking the yellow.
Just got fitted for an f9 but got it brand new for 299 with a Mitsubishi tour stiff shaft , hits like a dream but these do look nice to I hope they do well again, gives likes of callway titleist and Taylor made a wakeup call if a cheaper driver is besting them
The wrap around face is a big upgrade. My F9 has a couple of paint chips from impact so was definitely an issue. The colouring is very Marmite. Otherwise looks like it might be the driver to beat for 2020
The infinity symbol reminds me of the Nexcor technology on my Nike Covert 2.0! I may have to upgrade to the SZ. Looking forward to see how you hit it, thanks Rick!
The speed zone vents in the back are actually mini rocket boosts that increases club head speed. Only problem will be getting your hands on replacement cartilages.
I had the F9 and hit under the ball, it cracked the top. I sent it back under warranty and Cobra replaced it with the King SZ. I really like the SZ so far, I feel that the CNC milled face that wraps over the top will better protect it from my errant swings.
Love my F9 but a few bad hit paint chip marks at the top of the club face. The new infinity milled face should help for the duffers like me out there!!
Every time I see a new driver video, I always think back to your videos of how they really havent changed that much and the prices have gotten even more ridiculous.
Would have to perform extremely well to replace my Ping 400 Rick. Kinda amazed at your response on the price point, gee, only $445, must be nice to be able to say that. With yourself and others who have admitted all these new expensive drivers only give a couple of extra yards distance vs previous years models at substantial $ savings, why buy the latest ?
Pulling the milled face onto the crown and sole won't really make any difference when striking the ball. Looks far better from the top than previous models. Can't wait to see the on course results though 👍

The driver looks very promising. The bold colors and graphics are channeling classic American muscle cars. I think that was their goal in designing this driver. Not everyone’s taste but I give them credit for wanting to standout from the larger traditional brands.
I bought the Cobra F9 ( fully fitted) but never liked the feel on the grip, so I ripped it off to replace with a golf pride multi compound (much better), however to my shock the original grip only had 1 inch of grip tape at the top of the shaft and no more. I’d never buy a Cobra driver again with the grip on and just do it myself so I know they will be no twisting of the face due to the grip moving. Buyers beware! Seriously good driver now that I’ve got tape all the way down the grip

Rick, living on this side of the pond it took me an entire year to actually get accustomed to hitting the F9. With its low spinning head, it took me a while to find the right shaft(get fitted)! However, once I found the right shaft, this club was a boom stick. Truth be told the F9 and the TS3 were my longest hitting clubs. The SZ looks really good. With a similar look from below and the same shaft for me, if it's an improvement I sure might bag it. Taylormade and Callaway better come with it in 2020!

I love the Cobra brand, but did not like the f9 10.5degree I purchased because it had way to much of a tendency to go left way to often and I play a fade, there for it went on the block and my f8 went back in the bag. I will check out the new Cobra driver reviews and look for any word that it wants to go left, I want a driver that wants to fade. Thanks Rick, looking forward to your actual hit it hard review.

The bottom looks good, I like the quieter looking crown, but the wrap around milling looks goofy to me. Maybe it’s different in person, but it makes it look very rounded, and I personally prefer straight lines. Yet bravo Cobra for not jacking the price up.
I still have,and love to drag out occasionally, the old 440sz driver and matching 3 n 5 wood. Awesome old woods n driver. The sound of the old sz's is iconic I think. I'm really curious about the new ones .

The good news, I won an Ebay auction today for a King Cobra offset 10.5 (350cc head) for $20 (shipping included). Now, if I can just learn to hit it - straight! The SZ Extreme is beautiful. 😃
Cobra are Puma's golf brand who sponsor the Richmond Tigers an Australian Football team who famously wear Yellow and Black which is why most of their new equipment is Yellow and Black. Puma and Cobra obliviously have an internal agreement on their contract about their colors on Cobra's new products.
I love cobra I have the f8 + driver and the forged tec irons along with the Cobra wedges love all of them now I will look to get the 2020 driver but I like the white version better

Think I’ll stick to my F9. I don’t like the look of the bottom. But the face does look incredible. Will wait for your official review to make a decision, but I don’t see it being worth trading in the F9.
I’ve got the F9 and absolutely love it but I genuinely think, maybe barring the face, that everything about the F9, head shape, colour scheme and headcover just looks better.
I have the F9 and my biggest complaint with it was the small chips that i got on the carbon crown just above the face from coming under the ball to much. From what i can see the new face which curves up over the edge should prevent that from happening. Otherwise looks very similar to F9 but that´s obviously what there out after. I´m looking forward to testing it when it gets released to see if it´s worth the upgrade.

Can't wait. Hit one ball on my f9 towards the top and it chipped the paint right where the face meets the crown. This one should last a while.

Just put a piece of black insulating tape on the leading edge of your driver, stops sky Mark's, and can be replaced. Also does not affect playability

Looks good but I’ve got variable weights for my f9 for full adjustments and this driver has different shaped weights.🤬

Cobra introduced an SZ line in 2009. I owned the irons and played them until last year.
