This was literally one of the most helpful, personally relevant videos that I have seen related to modern music making EVER. Covering music theory within Ableton and taking us step by step through your thinking, then sending it all out into wonderful instruments - this is truly a masterpiece. Thank you SO much. Subscribed based on this video alone.
I think there are 2 kinds of people in this world - those who know a lot of theory and already knew this and those that never understood any of this and still don't!
Seems very interesting but i think i don't have the level t understand it. Any suffusion of video that could cover the basis i need to make this video understandable ?
as a classically trained musician it is nerve wracking to hear g sharp in the key of f minor. Please use the correct note names, especially if you are explaining functional harmony. In a standard major or minor key, all note names only occur once, so f, g, a (flat), b (flat), c, d (flat), e (flat) for F natural minor. There is no g sharp in f minor. By the way, in the beginning you say that the key is f melodic minor, but actually it's the natural minor...
@@julian-multiman yayaya; off tòpic 😂 bla bla bla Aura plugin do it. Accés virus company is RIP and in Apple works on 10 years computer and still works 😂 so in the cavern pc era is working too. 😁
@@greenDady Wow you seem triggered, understandable being an Apple fan boy. The Access Virus company is way alive mate, they are called “Kemper Amps”, and they are making more money with that, that they ever did the the Virus series. Completely leading the AMP emulation market. With the Virus, they created an icon, one of the best synthesisers in history (ask Hans Zimmer if isn’t true), and it still relevant to this day. Sorry that you feel hurt… your beloved fashion brand decide to break stuff, like they always do. I’m gonna make some sound design with my amazing custom PC running Windows and the Virus control plug-in. Bye
I think you need to do more sounds in u super pc sound studio and let the “apple fan boys” talk and say what they are thinking of one company that 2 years ago still selling this amazing product and no compatible in mac Catalina. And the company let them “broken” because they win more money in other product… u talk in my message to Thomann and they no virus ti2 selling any more… No excuses from acces virus any more, if other 3rd company can do they can do too!!! ❤
@@greenDady Oh do not worry about that, I use and enjoy my TI daily. I can leave Apple fan boys talk whatever they want, but still they are wrong, plenty of topics regarding the “legal” aspects of your claim, it’s Ployteq who didn’t upgrade the firmware, and it’s apple who broke things. But sure keep crying about it. Not sure if you are aware but even without the software side, the Virus is a very capable hardware synth, I used mine without the Virus Control all the way from 2006 to 2011. Enjoy.
The fun part is that Motif is a German word (meaning theme/topic) and pronounced mo teef, but since he's presenting in English, he s pronouncing it motive even though that means something different in English. It's a minefield, I tell ya!
Why does a video for easier melody writing have to be so complicated and not fun? I turned it off at the 15th mention of subharmonics. This was as enjoyable as a technical lecture about running a nuclear power plant.
Just make a screenshot of his explanation at the start and review that. I have pages and pages written down of things I learned in a monthly course. You have to get at least some of the basic vocabulary memorized OR written down in some file. It's like a language.
Access Virus TI2 more then 12 years old and still one of the best sounding and superb looking synthesizers! What a beast!
I just bought mine and you couldn’t be more right, this thing is a beast!
And yet no support from the company. Total shame!
@@dulusmusicaenjoy that tiny screen since Mac OS 11, 12, 13 are not supported.
@@Simbor-rh1djjajajaja yeah, friends on mac curse this synth, I’m on windows though :)

Love this educational stuff. Great ideas.
Thanks mate! :)
Cool class, I should sit in on these lessons more often. Composition eludes me in so many ways, this lesson helps explain so much. 🤘🏽
Hi there, glad that you liked it and that I could helped you a bit! Best, Jonas :)

Whoa, big up to Jonas. First notes at 8:30 reminded me Akira Yamaoka and Silent Hill
Akira Yamaoka is for sure a next level composer! Thanks a lot :)
@@ThomannSynthesizers in particular - his song "True", i instantly remembered that pianos and trip hop beat at the beginning. Good memories

it s multi but i dont get it ....
Not working with macos Catalina or newer os like Big Sur or Monterey…
As advertised in their site, software downloads and manual. Apple broke the support for the USB, not Access.
See the great Aura plugin - USB audio works a treat on Mac.
I just make music. melodies with functional harmonies sounds like Parteitag des ZK lol don't overthink it. feel it.
Time to acces virus ti2 do what they say. Totally integration. No Os Catalina support since years…
Again, as advertised in their site, download section and manual. Apple broke the USB support, not Access.

Because learning isn't always fun.
Nobody said music theory was easy. Neither synthesis.

No, the notes are not called D# or Eb and so on, that depends on the key. You should maybe learn some music theory before teaching yourself... ;)
