It was reasonably clear from the beginning that bringing in something akin to Diablo wasn't going to go over well with Division.
Different type of playerbase and essentially "gating" content and forcing you to dodge red bar enemies when many players have spent 1000s of hours on SHD, Gear, Rerolls, Builds, etc.
It came across to many as "please be excited about being forced to go back to Level 1 to get any new stuff".
I can see why it was reviled by the majority.

Definitely a W to get them to acknowledge reality (that both the idea and communication around it were not well received), but what they do instead could very well also be an L. 🤷♂️

Tbh, playing The First Descendant makes me even more appreciate how good division 2 is. If the Dev can listen to players. Div2 will still be relavant as a great looter shooter. The only feature div2 is missing as a co-op looter shotter imo is giant mech(or anything giant) boss battles (which is the only thing good in The First Descendant). Boss battles in divs 2 are mostly against human, quite meh. Boss battles are supposed to be monumental and epic. I've never felt eny epicness from bosses in DIV 2, only decent one I can think of is XB-31 Marauder boss in NY DLC
I personally like more than just the boss battles in The First Descendant. I don’t have to matchmake to play with players in the open world activities. I’m constantly finding people everywhere I look without having to call for backup or matchmake until I’m doing dungeons etc. the division 2 has me hooked from a great community, great graphics, and shooting mechanics. Mostly the grinding is good when there is actual content to grind. So I’d say both are great
You haven't been seeing 7 of the top 10 div 2 content creators tank their division coverage and start doing first descendant coverage. Because... Why grind more on a character/account that's basically gonna be shelved for 14 of the 16 weeks in a season. They needed people back in Div2 grinding and making content again. Ive already seen i think 2 say it's back onto Division. Developers don't want you hooked on another game
I’m not sure which ones your referencing but from what I’ve seen and who I’ve communicated with.. they more than likely will do both.

To be honest with you the they almost lost a franchise and community from seasonal characters problem they never explained about seasonal characters short bits but it I gave us Q&A article about it they should work with us on pts or keep doing special report live stream instead of Ubisoft forward
