I was studying Mongolia for a school project when I read about khoomei throat singing. I was interested, so I looked it up on youtube. I found this. My life is now 4.3% better.
It's astounding to think that this has only been introduced to the masses (western world etc) in recent history. It demostrates divergent evolution, in a roundabout metaphorical way. The way that humans are all the same yet when put in different parts of the world with various landscapes, animals, weather and other things we create and even become things that seem completely alien to people half a planet away.
The overtone singing is astonishing. For all those who are moved at 1.40, they should check out Georgian singing which has that beautiful droning, shifting quality
+benjiii1Boom yea I'm using that already. If possible I just prefer to actually buy the music I really like so I can support the artists, and usually get a way better quality track. But thanks for the reply anyway.
no, it doesn't:) i guess i watched too many eurovision videos at youtube:) just look at the comments there and you will understand what i'm talking about...
@Mindwanderingguitar There are quite a few "masses" in various parts of Asia/Eurasia who have been listening to this misc for ever, it's not new except to Western people.....and not this one.
Actually Tuvan people are the real Turks when it comes who is Turkic (Turkified) I'd say Turks in Turkey who is calling themselves Turkish are just Turkified local people of anatolia.
i am turkish also and i do not agree with you... he did not say anything... these poeple are turkic, there are 200 million turkic people on earth... youtube is not for information, its for comments... what is your real origin? your name sounds familiar with one of our neighbours...

Something about that passage from 1:40 to 1:55 is just so.. poignant, it's like it reduces the universe to a gentle bird flying in the sky..
