She's actually incorrect about his parole eligibility. His sentences all three say, Minimum 30 yrs, 10 yrs, 10 yrs. But the sentences run CONCURRENTLY, not consecutively. So, no, he doesn't have to serve 50 yrs Minimum. He need only serve 30 yrs Minimum, which he is nearly at, now. He won't be 70, he will be 50. According to the Ohio Dept of Corrections, his first eligibility date for parole is in 2026, just two years from now. He's been in since 1996. However, as she said, after serving his entire adult life in prison, and having had a brutal murder conviction, he likely won't be considered for parole.

"He'd felt caged that gray winter day, and now his mind filled with strange voices, Jordan recalled. They told him to kill.
"It was like a devil. You know how you see the cartoon characters, you know - the good one on this shoulder and the bad one on that shoulder?"
Twice he had walked toward Mrs. Johnson. Twice he'd retreated. Now she had her back turned to him, preparing to do dishes.
"At first I was doing battle with myself," he said. "You know: 'Just hit her on the side of the head,' and this side telling me, 'Don't do it.' It literally drained me. I didn't know what to do. I was confused."
For the third time, he walked toward Mrs. Johnson. This time, he smashed the hatchet into her head. The voices, he said, stopped."

Thank you CSPAN for interviewing Mrs. Toth. Her work is incredibly important beyond just this story. It speaks to a culture of misunderstood children who, as she aptly calls a “ticking time bomb”. I have been substitute teaching recently in Yonkers, NY public school system. I got n trouble for giving classes an assignment to be done during class time because the teacher did not leave lesson plans. I asked the students to write 3 paragraphs using the structure of Introduction, Argument and Conclusion and gave them several topics to choose from:
    1. Is Climate Change a serious issue? Why or why not?
    2. Is the 2 party system of government working? Expand on your answer.
    3. What are the causes for the increase in mass shootings, especially in schools?
    4. Will electric cars help or hurt the environment? Why or why not?

I really wonder about being lulled to sleep by a video that contains such a freaky subject matter. Your mind is at its most vulnerable while you are tired and falling asleep, why open the door to such things?Just something to think about.

Johnny was bad, even as a child everybody could tell
Everyone said, "If you don't get straight, you'll surely go to Hell!"
    But Johnny didn't care
He was an outlaw by the time that he was ten years old
He didn't wanna do what he was told
    Just a prankster - A juvenile gangster
His teachers didn't understand, they kicked him out of school
At a tender early age just because
He didn't want to learn things
Had other interests - He liked to burn things
    [Verse 2]
    The lady down the block
She had a radio that Johnny wanted oh so bad
So he took it the first chance he had
And then he shot her in the leg
But this is what she said
    [Chorus]
(He's only a lad) You really can't blame him
(Only a lad) Society made him
(Only a lad) He's our responsibility
    Oh, oh, whoa whoa
(Only a lad) He really couldn't help it
(Only a lad) He didn't want to do it
(Only a lad) He's underprivileged and abused
    Perhaps a little bit confused
Oh, oh, oh, oh whoa whoa whoa
    Whoa whoa whoa
    Oh, whoa whoa whoa
Hey there, Johnnie, ya really don't fool me.
You get away with murder and you think it's funny.
You don't give a damn if you live or if you die. Hey there Johnnie boy
    I HOPE YA FRY!

Johnny said, Don't cry Momma smile & wave goodbye

The problem with this video is not the voice... her voice is perfect. The subject matter, however, is not ideal for relaxing ASMR... it's very engaging (for me, anyway).. this wakes me up... rather than puts me to sleep.
    :-(
Too bad.. this would've become a daily use video for me.

the sympathy she has for this person that did this is beyond annoying . Why would she even talk parole . Yes he had a hard unfair life and it's sad. But she seems to almost paint him as the victim in this when he got the break he needed by having a great family take him in and he threw that away

@@claire-ui6pu no ma'am the people he killed were victims ! So in your mind everyone that gets a bad break has a type of justification to murder ? He was getting help and found a family that was good to him . To which he made a choice to kill them for it. I doubt if he had killed your mother gid forbid, you would be calling him a victim

The sensitivity, awareness and true love embodied in Ms. Jennifer Toth are what struck me. In terms of ASMR, a perceptual phenomenon that can cause a tingling, static-like, or goosebumps sensation in response to certain stimuli, including the aura of Ms. Toth's unusually deep understanding. In that sense I did have an ASMR response to her, but that was definitely not the purpose of the interview. She moved me very deeply.
