I don't think they will do another Wonder Woman movie with Gal Gadot. Not only because they are rebooting the universe but it would also be confusing. I understand they may want to make a final movie as a farewell to this version of Wonder Woman and the DCEU in general but why put $150+ million into a movie when it's clear audiences have abandoned the DCEU? They would just be throwing money away.
I don’t disagree, but it feels like they are picking and choosing what stays and what goes, right? Momoa seems like he’s staying (whether as Aquaman or Lobo or something else), looks like Peacemaker is staying? Blue Beetle may not have the same continuity, but BB is supposed to be in the new universe (not even sure how that’s gonna work). Battinson is Elseworlds?
Feels like a confusing mess already. I wouldn’t be surprised if they kept one of the clearly popular characters on board to try and salvage something.

Considering only Gal Gadot has said this, I will take it with a grain of salt and think it probably will not happen. It sounds more like she is trying to push it into reality rather than it already being agreed to.

I'm so confused about what is considered the DCEU and the new DCU. They need to show what movies and shows go with which in a detailed clip. I think Gunn should cast all new people for the superheroes like he did with Superman for the new DCU. In the future, there can be a Crisis movie that can bring back Cavill, Affleck, Gadot, and Mamoa to help the new DCU cast fight Darkseid
lmao its like the New 52 Comics a Soft Reboot not everything is revamped or changed. Ben didn't want to keep doing it and Gunn wants to do a new take on it with Damian Wayne. And Wants an American as Superman again as that is a big part of his character in certain runs. Others not so much.

Gunn should have done a full reboot
who's to say it was ultimately his choice (clearly, bringing peacemaker over was his choice, don't get me wrong)
yep a hard reboot. I think the reason why they do not comes from David Zaslav, his boss. He wants to be successful quickly so they can sell the company. He does not care about the health of DC.

I was a Gal Gadot doubter, before I saw her portray the character. Now I'm of the opinion that she was absolutely one of the best things that came out of DCEU.
Having said that, I don't think keeping her is a winning formula for going forward with the new DCU and I think the character (along with all characters) should absolutely be recast.

That Gal comment was made in June and could have meant that (secretly was still in flash-so Wonder Woman was not done. )

I have this impression, that audience do not care about DCEU, MCU, or whatever the name is. We care about quality. Studios are concerned about creating marketing material instead of working on stories and simply good cinema.
Crystal Skull AND Dial of Destiny are both fantastic. I hate that these movies are contentious. They’re great movies!

I love Gunn's movies, but if this is really happening then he doesn't seem to know what he's doing. He wants to separate new DCU from the messy old DCEU but is bringing back actors and characters from it to new DCU. This will only confuse viewers and doesn't seem like a good plan imo, especially considering how the DCEU brand became a box office failure. Total and complete reboot IS the obviously better approach.

It should be a 100% reboot. As long as there is baggage from the snyderverse, it will always linger over the New... the Snyder fans, & the outrage from cavil firing ..Gunn has to kill this universe completely…
100% agree. I’ve always thought that the biggest reason the DCEU limped along far longer than it needed to was because the first Wonder Woman was such a universal hit critically and financially. Had it been as bad/divisive as BvS, JL etc I can imagine a world where they rebooted everything a lot sooner. Regardless of trying to use the term Elseworlds as a back door way to have their cake and eat it it’s just not going to work.

I think continuing to use Gal is a bad idea. Continuing with Mamoa is a bad idea. I think allowing Andy to direct Brave and bold is also a bad idea. The DCU needs a break first and foremost and then a full recast

If Gal Gadot is back as Wonder Woman then James Gunn isn’t committing fully to the reboot, which will hurt the DCU brand when it comes.

@@Maxxximilian90 I'm with you 100%...it's like Gunn doesn't think far out. Gal will be at least 40 by the time they can do another WW. She won't get the advantage of a muscle suit like the guys do. So physically she can't make me believe and with her acting ability she can't make me believe. It's best to just find a WW in her mid 20s that can do the role for 15 years...or longer.

I’ve wanted a full on reboot of DC since walking out of BvS. Im a huge long time DC comics fan and the decisions in that film baffled me. Now that they have the opportunity and claim to have a vision for a new universe the idea of still mucking around with Gals Wonder Woman and the old universe feels like they are potentially shooting themselves in the foot. My take on the Elseworlds title being bandied about is that it’s merely a promotional attempt to justify the existence of old projects outside of the new universe like Joker 2 & The Batman 2. Considering Gunn is so adamant about having a cohesive connected DCU represented through every form of media (film, tv, animation and even gaming) I have a hard time believing that he’s willing to confuse audiences and dilute the potency/relevance of his new DCU. The only way I see Snyderverse characters making a comeback is long down the road if and when they decide to tackle a concept like Crisis on Infinite Earths? Especially when it seems like early on thats what The Flash was supposed to be laying the groundwork for?

This is the problem I have with the WB'S DC movies is that they're so indecisive of what they want to do.
Is it really going to be developed or is she just aware no one knows she has a new movie coming out and she knew this would get her name out there and talked about. Even her saying "from what I heard" leaves it open so in the future she can claim to have misunderstood them or just straight up say they changed their minds. I don't think at this point a new movie with her has even been a thought for Gunn but she wants it so shes pushing it while also knowing it will get her name out there for her new movie.
Could just get a cameo in a new WW based off new Amazons TV Show...
About the whole Kang in the Loki trailer thing, the footage of him that we saw was from the Quantumania post credit scene. As far as Disney's response I feel you are correct but I do want to add they probably also didn't fire him right away to avoid another James Gunn situation.
I don't think it's TOO confusing, Gunn did say (I think) that some will remain, some will not. Superman was the only variable cuz apparently he has a very specific vision for him. 🤷♂️
I’m actually excited for Loki season 2. Season one was the only Marvel show that was consistently great from beginning to end. I have faith in whomever is the showrunner.

Great show! 😆 Other than the music scores the casting was the single best thing about the old DCU, with Gadot and Henry in particular being near perfect choices. The first Wonder Woman movie was also the best thing they ever produced too imo 😉

Discovering that the Gal quote is from the beginning of the summer makes me feel like this supposed Wonder Woman 3 isn’t a confirmed thing? I liked the first WW film but still stand by the opinion that Gal is insanely overrated in the role. I am not a fan of Gal as an actress and based on how wooden she is in other roles I think the magic behind the first Wonder Woman film was all due to Patty Jenkins and Gals chemistry with Chris Pine. I desperately want a new Diana Prince - Wonder Woman for a new DCU.

What you guys don’t seem to understand is, if Zack is not involved as a Director or Producer, it is not the DCEU…. Don’t assign success or failure to the movies with the actors that Zack casted as a sign that people want or don’t want the DCEU…. Stop…. Zack’s movies have been the most successful DC movies thus far…. Everything else has been at best weak, and studio meddling has been the main reason for failure…. Those who have run WB /DC so far have been awful and don’t understand DC heroes…. Gun’s DC movie has been one of the worst, so far he has lost money for DC, the opposite of Zack’s contribution to DC.

Mmm, you didn’t read…there’s no issue if they talk about movies. The issue is paid PROMOTIONS. Like the one at the beginning of the video. So many people nowadays can’t read or understand half of what’s said…
biggest mistake they done since getting rid of synder (which was a good decision ) is keep some of the actors and not others because they like or dont like them... so stupid, just commit to a fresh start
Talking about the John Willams Superman score makes me think about how Danny Elfmans Tim Burton Batman theme is in the Amimated series, It was used in Justice League for Ben Affleck, it's used in the Flash. That song is synonymous with Batman and I thing the Wiliams Superman theme is the same way. It needs to be used in the future.
