I'm really happy with James Gunn's outlook on death in storytelling. He really nails it when he says that death is meaningless if characters keep coming back. It makes every sacrifice and loss in the MCU meaningful and memorable.
The multiple character developments over 3 movies is where Gunn succeeds over many other franchise movies. He takes all the characters seriously, even the minor parts like Laika the dog.

Just saw this in IMAX 3D and left the theaters! One of the best movies in the new phase. Marvel has definitely not lost their magic! Excited for the new future of Cinemas in movies ❤😍
This movie was fantastic but in no way does that reflect Marvel not losing it's magic. This is more a James Gunn film than a MCU flick, Gunn is the new head of Marvel's direct competition and Marvel has nothing really to look forward to from here. I loved this movie but I have little faith in the future of the MCU

If they don't make him a major character right away, I could see him doing really well with a recurring character like The Riddler. He could just pop up in any random DC movie from time to time to throw a wrench into things. He needs to be clever, charming, and funny. Pratt could pull that off, I think, considering that is pretty much his wheelhouse already. The person who I really, really wanted to see play The Riddler sometime was a comedian from the UK called Sean Lock, who unfortunately passed away a couple of years ago. He was absolutely a dead-ringer for how I've always imagined a live-action Riddler to look, too.
This movie was visually epic, great story beginning to end. amazing character arcs, awesome cast with a outstanding music soundtrack. If you haven't seen it I advise you too, best movie in the phase so far best movie since endgame and no way home. And I love Gunn and Pratts chemistry in this interview great friends.
Him and his friend Kevin Fiege now both in cool high level positions and their happy for each other. Unfortunate he wont be working with Fiege anymore, the person tht gave him his big break but this is cool outcome.
Part 2 is imo better in every way to 1 in balancing dark drama and humor. This being more straight drama worries me going into this because some things that are TEASED in the trailers I don't want to expect to be there and I don't want XCHATACTER to die or I will hate the movie. I heard a plethora of people in the theater next to me last night when I rewatched Avatar and it was for GOTG3 and I hope it is not emotionally depressing\disappointing at all.
I think the first Guardians was about 10 years ago. Thanks for a decade of great movies! James Gunn is perfect for superhero movies. I hope he's just as successful over at DC. If the Suicide Squad and Peacemaker are anything to go off of, they are in very good hands with James at the helm. The cast was a really wonderful part of it too. I thought they did an awesome job at being funny, while also really letting the emotional parts hit.
