Very nice video. Good lighting and audio, step by step instructions and narrative. I'm getting ready to replace the fuel pump on my 2014 CTX1300. Fortunately, easy access to the mounting at the top of the tank under the seat. Honda wants $550 for the pump vs $35 in eBay. Ridiculous.
Thank you for this entire rundown of this bike. I have two of them and this video set has helped me with both of them. Do you happen to remember the fuel pump you bought to replace the Honda one? A friend has a dead fuel pump and doesn't want to replace the entire assembly. He'd like to try to swap out the bad pump with a new one like you did. I showed him your video, but he said there was no mention of which fuel pump you used specifically. I rewatched it and noticed you said it might have been a Bosch unit. Can you give any details on this? Thank you.
Just bought a used 2003 VTX 1800. It set for a little while before I bought it. It seems to run fine until the fuel light comes on. Then it begins to run rough and will die when you squeeze the clutch. It starts back immediately. I fill up and no more issues. Any ideas?
Greetings, I'm trying to do this right now and I'm having a really hard time with the two feed lines on the right (foot brake) side of the pump. How did you manage to get those off/ put them back on??? (Thanks in advance)
yea I remember they were tough and really tight! I use these hose pliers to take off hoses and they work great: www.harborfreight.com/3-piece-long-reach-hose-grip-pliers-37909.html?_br_psugg_q=hose+pliers
I'm only saying this for those that don't know, because I didn't see you switch it ON, or say anything about it, but you have to switch the bike ON as well as the key to ON, in order for the pump to prime. It's an easy thing to overlook when you're DEEP in the guts of the bike, and thinking like an engineer/mechanic, instead of a rider.

I just bought a low mileage f3 as well. Sat forever too. Luckily the gas tank was mint along with the rest of the bike. Looked brand new.
Can you send me the link where you buy the fuel pump ..i have the same problem..
Gracias
Hello! What fuel filter did you put in or the part number of that filter or mesh?
I wish I could have seen how you took out the fuel pump
