Awesome. I love my SDR-18 D2!!! (wired parallel) in a white ash ply sealed box of 4.8 cubes, qtc 1.1, fb of 38Hz, f3 of 32Hz, 350 to 370 watts, rear firing in a Honda Fit. It absolutely slams as a daily driver SQ box, peaks out in-cabin around 44Hz to 46Hz. Can't beat the price to performance point. Cone area always dominates.
Bruh get a ported box if you can fit it, I have a SVR 15 in a big ass ported box in the same car, the lows are actually nice af
@@Tmanstomp100 Yeah, I've been back and forth between a few subs, chasing a certain SQ sound while still getting more SPL when I have a hankering for it. In between my single SDR-18 D2, I had a single SVR-15 D2 in the same gross size box but I ported it with two 4" flared ported tuned to 26-27Hz. The sub did get low, and it did great as an SQ performer; overall it was alright but it lacked what the 18" could do at around 40-50Hz. So, I put the SDR-18 back in. Bhaha! After about a year now I got the bug to design a build again. So...I'm designing a new box right now to replace my SDR-18, with two DDX-15 D4's (wired to one ohm), Fb 3.438ft^3, tuned to 35Hz, dual slotted port, with an output power capability of around 750-800w. Same external size enclosure for my Honda Fit: 40" x 21" x 14.25". I think this solution will cure my fix of both worlds. I will keep you posted if that's cool.
What's the specs on your SVR-15 enclosure?
@@jasonrodgers9840 sorry for the late reply bro, but I don’t know the actual specs on the enclosure but based off the trunk the box fills almost the entire space aside from maybe a foot on the left and right, and it goes almost all the way up to the headrest, and the port is around 6-8 inches, in my experience if you can get close to what I have it’ll sound about the same, my box does very well on the lows as it was actually designed for a ZVX, and the performance above 50 hz isn’t great but the way I run it is with 2 8 inch mids in a sealed box in the back seat to balance everything out and it sounds pretty good.
@@shabalabawigman1130 bc...it doesn't work that way you think it does. If you put the SDR-18 in a 2.75ft^3 sealed enclosure, the dB peak is close to 4dB, giving a Qtc of 1.442, and an f3 of 32Hz, NOT Fc of 32Hz but 46Hz. I didn't want this. I wanted more of a flat response.
The stated Vas of the SDR-18 D2 is 206 liters, mine fully broken in has a Vas of 258 liters (9.11ft^3). Too, I'm not putting 600w to it, only around 350 to 370, max.
More accurate #'s on my box are as follows:
Qtc: 1.113
Vb: 5.811 ft^3
Fc: 35Hz
F3: 27Hz
Fmax: 46Hz
Ripple: 1.9dB

Ah that's badass. I could see how subs with smaller motors and voice coils but big cone area being great for home audio.
As I am trying to put a system together rn and unfortunately I can't get enough power to any of the subs I have at my disposal
@@RandoManFPV you can wire it 20hms on a dayton audio 250,box rise allows the amp to play fine and get the full 250w plus.

I've got 2 SDR-10d4 on a RP800.1d and couldn't be happier. For 2 cheap tens, I'm impressed. For cheap DVC 18"s, I'd recommend CT Sounds Tropo series over SKAR SDR. For SVC, Dynavox or Rockville.
My buddy acquired two sdr 15s and wanted me to build him a t-line enclosure for his truck, I laughed. I ended up building two folded horns for his home audio and they sound good for what they are. The only Skar subs I recommend are the DDX and ZVX series. Fucking sucks you got burned, but we all like lemonade!
Your right about it dose good in my home theater in my bedroom. To bad I blew my 18" SDR because I hooked it up to my 8k watt amp. Now my 8k amp don't work.

I run one in 4.5cubes witha 28hz tune for home theatre and it works great powering it with a power acoustic rzr2500d and a PC power supply connected to the sub out on a oldschool jvc 5.1 reciever. When I play movies with thunder storms in it for example, my family comes out of their rooms to see if it's really storming.

Is the basket cut out 2 inch? The frame surround and spider would make a nice sub if you swap the motor and coil.
I had 3 in my altima 6th order b pillar wall on a banda 7k after they fried I rebuilt them with high temp coils and got 152 db on music
If you don't mind me asking brother where you get your coils I wanna upgrade mines to hold more power and possibly switching the motors too

Hey Patrick I have to skar 15" sdr an fcb they are blown do you have a couple decent coils I can but to replace the shitty ones that were in them. How much for the coils shipping and can I pay pal you? Its says the coils are both 15" and 18" are 2.50" Let me know?
$40 each shipped. The coils are same as what was in there. You just have to watch your power input to them. The magnets aren't as strong as you'd like.
