I just got a stove like this. This review will help me to use this. Keep the fires going for me in the sky brother. I will see you on the trail when I get to the other side.
HEY WALKER..youll never know but you are the reason I bought this stove when you first showed this video. WALKER..I SURE DO MISS YOU!! YOU WERE MY NUMBER 1 FAVORITE!!! R. I.P. SIR
The handles on the stoves thread through the handles on the grill, which prevents the grill from falling off. Stove handles standing up threw the grill also creates a pot stand allowing use of larger then stove pans or pots without smothering out fire.
I've litterly just purchased this stove Today!! :) because of this man aye, what a legend. I hope it works and serves me well? Now it's the waiting game until it arrives haha. I've also heard this guy, had passed away? 😔 very sad 💙 if this is true? My heart go's out to him and his family. Rest in peace mate.
If you have the version with the permanently mounted fire grate that drops in when setup: you can flip the stove upside down, pull the fire grate through to the opposite side of the tabs, now you can use an alcohol stove with the cooking grate on top. Prefect height.
I've cooked with this stove using a Trangia, and I just sit the burner on the bottom where the wood is usually placed, with a frying pan on top of the grill like he used... This folklore about a Trangia needing to be exactly an inch from the bottom of the cooking vessel is hogwash. I just cooked medium rare steak with the burner 4 inches from the bottom of the pan. Any closer and you'll get what's called 'thermal runaway'...
Thanks for that. I just bought my first camping stove, but I haven't gotten it yet. My main concern was wether I could use alcohol, or esbit fules also
Love this stove. This and the UCO Flat pack mini are the best all around woodburning camp stoves on the market. I did not include the Fireant (or Firebox; can't remember the correct name) as the price takes it out of best ALL AROUND category. Thanks for the heads up, I'm really liking this stove design. Be Blessed
The two thumbs down, complains about success. I have the folding sterno stove from Walmart, I’ve seen people turn them into a wood stove. That is a cool stove. I’ve never had duck 🦆 eggs. Good review. Happy Independence Day. 🇺🇸🎆🎇🔔
I have an identical stove. With the pins in the lowest holes with the grate sitting on them, I use wood. The middle holes with the grate I use for charcoal and with the grate on the top holes is ideal for a spirit stove.
I have one of these on the way from China as well. I think the smaller grid is best put on the lowest position though. This would create an 'air chamber' between the fuel and the ash plate. Looking forward to trying this out.
As pointed out in the video there are 3 positions. I intentionally picked the upper one for this burn for reasons explained in the video. The results as shown were really good for that application aka replicate a twig fire methodology using a tinder bundle with kindling supported above. One thing I did not test beforehand was the middle position for maybe an Alky burner. Lots of options with this stove. Thanks for watching.
Great video. I'm a stove-a-holic. I just received this stove and am waiting on the other version with the grate that folds down inside. Many different companies sell these under their own name. Hope to do a comparison video and burn test of the two different versions soon. This one that you have uses tent stakes to hold the coal grate which allows it to be adjustable. The other one with the fold down grate is not adjustable. I like these for the open flame fire they provide and ability to feed it large sticks/small logs and better control the heat, unlike most gasifier stoves. I have the other book style "fireplace" stove which I really like because it has more radiant heat. I have a torture test of that style posting very soon. These are well made and sturdy. Thanks for sharing. Mark
I like this. The last time you did a review of a Lixada stove I bought one. I like that this one. It's bigger and serves diff purposes. Gotta get one. Thanks
Megzy the UConn Walker. Thanx Brother. Awesome stove. I've tried 10 times on Ebay to buy it. I give up. I'm gonna stay old school and just cook on a fire. But thanx again, always good to see your vids.
excellent review i love my LIXADA twig stove and am seriously impressed with this one, shared to mt fb group...Polish & Hungarian Lavvu owners Worldwide...atb from Scotland
Thanks Kevin, definitely like the stove, been wanting a folding one that you don't have to put together like a jigsaw puzzle! the Sacred Bacon looks good as always too.
I like it. It's small enough that it's still pretty portable but big enough that it's useful. Cool review. I like that you review a wide variety of products and that you've obviously used them. Think I might have to pick one up.
The birds in the background sound beautiful. You’re out there doing it 👍🏻 Walker, believe it or not I just put down baby back ribs to watch. I’m serious, EXCELLENT CONTENT
This stove goes under the name PSKOOK. I bought one and i used it once. Liked it. Cost me $35 Canadian on Amazon. 1 con...handles get in the way with the door when using it just for fire, not to cook. The handles hold in the grill when cooking.
Enjoyed the video. I have been looking for a less expensive alternative to the Firebox stove. I liked what I saw and ordered this one from Ebay myself. Thanks for the review.
Great video, I have the same stove. I have made some cross bars for the use of larger pots, pans in order to allow air flow. Top setting is good for the use of an alcohol stove in the event of rain and wet wood. Thanks for sharing
Am ordering one of these as I have tried the smaller ones which are a bugger to keep going, this serves as a great stove and a nice small fire, which is cool as so many places are very antsy about fires these days, I have also used a mini swedish torch in mine , which I find saves a lot of time constantly reloading fuel
Made some mods to increase stability involved small notches in bottom ash holder slides through front. And notches on top for grill. The two long pins also made notches or grooves so they don't move or slide out....much better more stable. Small but necessary modifications used a dremel tool with small metal cutting edge.
Hurley Flyer 2 you can flip the stove upside down, pull the fire grate through to the opposite side of the tabs, now you can use an alcohol stove with the cooking grate on top. Prefect height.
Do you ever really get tired of making fire?.....NO, it’s something that is so basically human. We are the only species that makes fire, and these stoves make controlling fire to our advantage possible. Thanks for the excellent review!
I got one of those gasifier type stoves. Little round one. Its great but you cant feed the fire unless u remove the top grate and drop more twigs in. I like this better.
It looks like a really nicely designed stove with a really great price. I can get it for about USD17 including shipping where I'm at. I just can't get over the 850g that it weighs. LOL! Not sure I'll buy one because I can't see myself bikepacking with that extra weight. I'm currently using the smallest Lixada stainless steel folding stove with a 12cm round computer fan grill and it weighs only 200g. I even use charcoal in it for mini-BBQ. Really makes this new stove look like a total overkill...
@@MegaWoodswalker , I haven't gone UL stove yet since I'm still using stainless steel (have another 3 more of the same stove spare to wreck), especially since the weight reduction for a stove already this small isn't huge for the price I'd have to pay. Technically, I could get a bigger Ti stove for the same weight as the one I'm using now, but that just means more fuel used to run a bigger stove, which I don't actually need. But this new stove is big enough to actually stick a decently sized log right down the top to burn for hours. Like I said, it's a good stove, just not sure many people actually need it, even when not UL backpacking. Even to fry up some bacon and eggs, it was over kill you know...
What a cracking wood stove, I’ve been after a folding stove for a long while but the cost of the firebox bushbox is way to expensive for me but this... Decent. Thanks for the find and review Walker 👍. Cheers, Ant.
I got one of those , never used it but I’m glad to watch your video, have you ever thought of using charcoal in it , that is what I plan to use if we lose power in the apartment, I can set it in a cast iron frying pan right on top of the stove , and cook one pot meals
I just bought my first camping stove. I haven't gotten it yet, but I hope it is like that one so I can raise and lower the grate for using alcohol or esbit fules also
Interesting! I just saw another guy put the pegs on the bottom and started the fire from there. Seems to add more stability. Does it create more draw like a grill? Would like to know what you think! Thanks!
Came for the stove, stayed for the bacon ! video seems to show that this stove has very little smoke coming out of it, would this be near the same as small gassifer stoves ? looking at a few options on Amazon now and liked how big this one is for cooking compared to the rest.

Hello, Comparison do you like this stove or the UniGear stove better that you reviewed they’re both sort of the same at least in the size and cost but which one do you think is a better stove...thanks
God bless you my friend. If you didn't show me how to put it together I would have thrown it out by now. Just got it today and took a while to take the blue film off. I sliced my fingers twice in the process. As soon as I touch it, it wants to fall apart. The front door with ring sticks so hard, I'm afraid I'm going to bend the sheet metal opening it. Didn't even come with instructions. I'll give it a try, but at the moment seems like a real piece of shit. Thanks for your effort!
I've had a previous models which are smaller and I thought to upgrade to something bigger, yet portable. I would probably go with the Firebox Gen 2 instead of Lixada this time, since they say it's made of a very durable and thick stainless steel, but it's way too expensive for what you get in my opinion. Gonna order this one instead and try it out. Also, this is the only review I've found about this new Lixada stove. Many thanks for the review!
I have the same stove, it’s great mate for the price you can’t go wrong! I was just wondering what material is your frying pan as I was told to never put non stick aluminium on wood stoves?
I see what you mean about the loading ramp allowing the kindling to not smother the tinder. However, watching you load this stove, it just seems to be more awkward than the Unigear stove.
Thanks for the review and explanation on the fire lay. I recently ordered the small Lixada titanium stove from Amazon and returned it the same day I got it. I'm not sure they actually sent me titanium. I think it might have been their cheapest stainless model. It was heavy, poorly machined, and surprisingly hard to assemble. It seemed like something you'd get from a dollar store. The product you received looks a lot better. Maybe I will reconsider Lixada products after seeing this.
I heard he was working on that with the original but never got the right combo of price to weight to anti warping properties. If he does this with the Gen 2 I will totally buy and review it.

I have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) so I just can't eat bacon and eggs! I have to have some kind of high fiber food before I consume anything with high protein.
Oh, it was the left over plastic that made the door stick. Stupid Idea leaving the blue plastic on. A bad first experience! Not customer friendly. Thanks for being a great guy!
I think I will try sitting the tinder bundle on top of the door then just push it in with a stick without having to lift it off ground...im clumsy..lol. Been meaning to ask..is that the bugaboo or pathfinder skillet or what..thanks
ive bought a few different small stoves in the past and I was looking for something bigger and didn't need to be put together and less separate parts, this one I just barely bought off eBay before seeing your video...thanks for showing how it works in real time...how long did it take for the stainless steel to cool down to clean up and put away?...
Thanks for the vid. Did it come with the three position holes predrilled and with the pegs? Or did you drill the holes yourself? The pictures on Amazon listing do not show your particular stove's design.
I wish you had a close up on the ash pan sitting in the stove. Mine seems way too small, and keeps falling off the ledges on the sides. What am I doing wrong?
That net if you BBQ on top of it is very hard to clean, and you should heat up the pan super hot than put the oil in and spread the oil all over the pan so it will form a oil layer to the pan and it will become a non sticky pan, that's how all the Chinese chief does it
I intentionally put it in that position for reasons explained in the video aka igniting a tinder bundle with sticks supported above the tinder bundle aka twig fire methodology. It worked great for that use and is the only stove I know of which this is easily accomplished. Also I stated there are 3 positions for the grate in the video so I know about the lower one. If using another method of ignition I would have placed the grate on the bottom. In retrospect I regret using the tinder bundle because now I need to respond to inquiries like this. I also put the top placement was done on purpose within the video description. I am going to compare both fold up stoves I reviewed in another video so will be putting the birch bark below the lower position on the grate and igniting with a lighter however for a tinder bundle I will still place the grate on top. If I could remove the grate all together for that method I would but it’s required for stability. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for the vid. Did it come with the three position holes predrilled and with the pegs? Or did you drill the holes yourself? The pictures on Amazon listing do not show your particular stove's design.
Mine came with 3 and I find that useful.
@@MegaWoodswalker Thanks. I enjoy your vids.
Love your vids. The bell reminder is on.
Maybe use shorter comercials.
Take care.
I wish you had a close up on the ash pan sitting in the stove. Mine seems way too small, and keeps falling off the ledges on the sides. What am I doing wrong?
Seen this one ebay called 5 in 1 wood stove, thx for the review
That net if you BBQ on top of it is very hard to clean, and you should heat up the pan super hot than put the oil in and spread the oil all over the pan so it will form a oil layer to the pan and it will become a non sticky pan, that's how all the Chinese chief does it
outside of the annoying blue plastic film, great stove!!
good vid. thanks.
Thanks for watching!
RIP my friend!

Thanks!
The lower grill needs to go lower. More near the ground.
In case of emergency and there is no wood around, I wonder if it is possible to use newspaper and magazine.
Sure. I just don't think it would burn as long as other sources of fuel.
