I listened to this album a lot lately and it’s so perfect I don’t even want to listen to Room on Fire. But to be clear it’s just Julian, the arrangements are all his
Please release 8-bit One Way Trigger, it's the first Strokes song I ever listened to by virtue of spotify's recommended songs off a playlist full of the Killers and Interpol. It was the first recommended song, followed immediately by You Only Live Once, and I began deliberately listening to my playlist without shuffle play to keep hearing those songs. One day I looked at The Strokes' spotify page and listened to their most popular songs - I was instantly enamoured. I soon found out my dad was a massive fan back in the day and still nowadays to a lesser extent. The Strokes ended up being a great way to connect with my dad, who I've never had a great relationship with. I'm proud to say I now know all the words (or sounds - it's sometimes difficult to understand Julian lol) to almost every Strokes song and can name every single one from the first few seconds, and it all started with hearing One Way Trigger by pure chance.
Holy shit, that might be a generational thing, but this combines both my Super Nintendo childhood and my Strokes teen years nostalgia. Dang that hit me in the feels… ouch…Great work, this is incredibly cool!! Fuck… I feel old…
Lol old. Cant remember whether it was NME or Q..Rolling Stone, even..(?!??) Anyway, whomever sat down interviewing Jules and I think Fab. (possibly Hammond..cant remember, coz it's an old interview) I can't remember...on account of being....well,....fuckin old.anyway whichever Stroke it were, was going on and on about how much fun the first record was to record vs. the 2nd. The interviewer said something, bsome words to the effect of: How much God damn nostalgia can a 23 year old possibly have, about being a fuckin 21 year old!?? I always thought that was a cool idea. And, I don't know what I mean by a cool idea. Or "cool"...or "idea". Cool or not, it has to be a vaguely interesting thought.
I didn't see the length of the video before clicking, thinking it was only the song. I will now happily sit through 34:38 minutes to hear the entire ablum.
Thank you so much, this was perfect to help my baby get to sleep tonight. This is one of my favourite albums ever and i'm so glad it is going to live with my baby from now until forever.
Oh wow, this is incredible. I had no expectations for this to be as good as it is, bravo. I think another Strokes tune that'd work incredibly well in this format would be "Under Cover of Darkness" from the Angles album, some of the pinch harmonics and guitar melodies in that track are dying for a chiptune/8-bit/NES style remake, IMHO. Edit: Oh man, I didn't pay attention when first starting this video and thought this was just the title track...just as I finished typing my comment, it went into "The Modern Age" and I realized I was in for a treat for the next 30 mins or so. Awesome!
amazing job dude, really nice album and 8bits version, is this it in my opinion its like a nostalgic/melancolic album, and this thing like boost that felling, great.
Finally Trying Your Luck getting the respect it deserves! At least by the most-watched metric. Also funny to see how lacking Last Nite and NYCC are, although I thought Is This It made a great 8-bit track, and I've actually found a new appreciation for Last Nite after hearing the 8-bit version. Thank you very much for sharing, this won't be the last time I put this video on.
Bass drops out on certain parts like hard to explain especially, even through my woofer in my car! Not complaining just confused cause I know the bass is there
I think this is a demonstration of just how great the strokes arrangement/composition is. The nostalgia I get from this is insane. Good work!
They were locked into something sweet until they ran out of the J. P. Bowersock tracks.
yeahh absolutely
So true! I'm always trying to tell.people how lush with melody Strokes songs are.
I listened to this album a lot lately and it’s so perfect I don’t even want to listen to Room on Fire. But to be clear it’s just Julian, the arrangements are all his
Exactly the parts individually are very simple yet when they come together it’s pure genius
"Is this it?" sounds like a water level on NES
Oh yeah
If you released this on vinyl, I bet you a TON of people would buy it. Outstanding work!
that would be awesome
do now😊
Whoooaaahhhh, what the heck? Now I want to hear crunchy leads like this on vinyl.
No they wouldn't lol 😅😅
No lo creo.

that's a pretty nice story man, my relationship with the strokes started after listened to julian with daft punk

The first album I bought as a teenager was The Strokes' 1st Impression on Earth. Still get warm tingling listening to these gents.
Real
Super Nintendo was 16 bit no?
hard to explain goes so well with the 8bit!
meant to be
I mean it's basically already an 8-bit song LOL
Hard to explain how good this is!! :)

We'll figure it out someday
I see what you did there
Listened to the whole thing Last Night
@@jr.cazaresI listened to it yesterday when I was late to work, I don't care tho, you only live once

Take it or leave it is 100% an arcade car racing game.
RUclips recommendations aren't always the best, but I'm so glad this popped up in my feed. This is sweet!
I'm thankful for it
i like the song Metabolism, it sounds so 8-bit like arcade gaming
This album is a masterpiece! By far the best they have done ! One of the rare records that I will listen from start to finish without skipping a song!
it's perfect

came here expecting to see an 8-bit animation, but the music is cute!
Interpol "Turn on the Bright Lights" could be a good one
this is fucking awesome. this my most listened album of album. i dont know, its just very conforting.
this would totally work in a side scroller platformer on the NES (minus the increase in number of sound channels)
That's for sure
Soma translates to 8-bit so well!
yooooo NYC cops is dopeee
Hell yeah
This is awesome! Reminds me of my Atari STE and Monkey Island.
The strokes in 8-bit reminds me to the ost from the game of Scott Pilgrim
That's soo cool tho

This is so good, only wish bass was louder.
Some saturation too because I can't hear it very well on tiny speakers
Bass definitely needs to be stronger. Would love a reworked upload. But amazing as it is.
