I've had a 1982 928S as a daily driver for 10 years! Awesome vehicle. There are at least 40 in my city alone, and 3 of them are parked up at Autothority right now...
When I got the Paso it had been sitting in a barn for 6 years under covers. I spent a large sum having the bike brought up to standard. The list of work was extensive; new cam belts, new wheel bearings, new tyres, a chain mod for the 180 wide rear to clear the chain, all new fluids and many hoses replaced, the "Monster Starter" kit was also installed, and I even managed to replace the starter motor myself. If you know a Paso, then you know that wasn't an easy or quick job!
Beautiful. And to see such a thoroughbred with original patina is a rare sight. Easy to find one that's shiny and restored...I haven't seen an early 911 (that goes) looking like this in about 25 years.
Well, I used to be a mechanic, so as long as the engine and transmission guys allow you to video them, I would like to see that sort of thing as well as suspension and brakes. You saw the restoration of the 917 that is on youtube I hope. Thanks for the updates. Really enjoyable to look forward to them!
Whoa!! At 2:00, the window with the plastic-wrap on it faded into view, and at first I thought the window had shattered!! Then I realized it was just plastic-wrap... Whew!
Because money. My budget for this is small. New pockets are $498.00 USD each. The old pockets cost me nothing to repair, with stuff I have lying around. Besides, new stuff on this car would look silly. The only reason it's getting new door seals is a pragmatic one: keep water out of the doors, and away from my reconditioned door pockets!
i love the old 911 with original patina, not a fan of respray and straitening out of everything it is not a bad thing that things work and look ok, but its an old car and all wear and tear is part off this cars personality, its a shame someone has done a stripdown and a bad paintjob earlier
That would be lovely! Are you offering? Not really, if I need parts, I will get new ones. But probably get them from Britain, as shipping from the UK is about 1/3rd the price of shipping from the USA, which has the most insanely expensive postal service and courier services in the word. Often when I hear what shipping will cost, I write back saying I don't need a platinum courier riding a white stallion, followed by 12 vestal virgins and the mormon tabernacle choir providing a soundtrack.

I do not currently have the ability to take one of my project cars forward, so I am living vicariously thru you.

Thanks Darren. I'm glad you are enjoying them, as I enjoy making them!
