His voice was so mellifluous here. Although it had gotten a little rougher as he aged, one could still sense great diction and honesty as always from this man. Best stand up comic ever, in my humble opinion.
I mean hell, it’s the very reason he voiced the narrator for Thomas the Tank Engine for so long. His voice was always kind of rough, yet extremely comforting in a strange way. One of the most recognizable and hard to replicate voices of all time ❤️
Wow, and Bravo, GC you were one of a kind. Grew up hearing your great stuff, loved it then @ would probably appreciate, as well as love it even more today. Thanks.✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️
The only way that children could watch Carlin and Robin Williams was on television. Their live performances would have so many curse words that sailors and Marines couldn't keep up.
I just dicovered george, and what a pleasure. I usually enjoy finding things that have run its course that i like, so that i can binge watch it. But in this case i coulda use this influence earlier. But a pleasure just the same.
@@randymiller4978 Wow crazy you just discovered him! Hard for me to believe since he's been part of my life for decades. I just discovered Doug Stanhope. He's been doing comedy since the early 90s I think. Only been listening to him a couple months and I put him up in the same league as George.
I didn’t know they had android back then... heh the description is how they advertise by default. Carlin would think that’s as cynical as anything else.
how was he in tune with the band at the end? he didnt have a reference pitch or anything...did the band match him? did he just happen to be in tune with standard a=440 equal temperament?
It's just sad that he became a bitter old man after losing his wife. His act started as insightful and whimsical, but toward the end of his life he was angry and hatful.
Carlin would have been the ideal modern studies teacher.

A voice that, interestingly, he used to fake. He brought that up in his last book.

@@kris242 It reminds me of Tom Waits sometimes.
My father and uncles loved Carlin. They were college “hippies” and Carlin was their talisman.
I would’ve fuckin LOVED to see a collaboration between Shel Silverstein and George Carlin. Maaaan that would’ve been some absolute magic ❤️

Classic late 60s rebel.
I miss the 60s and 70s when real hippies walked the earth.
Joseph P Liptak Jr you don't know what a hippie is!!!!!
Hippies are more than just long hair!!!!!
@@michaelsalisbury1477 And how do you know he doesn't know that?
Thanks George and Johnny for all the laughs. Rest in peace :-(
And he went bald.

well of course at the end of his joke he said he was going to use Nair
You could see the recession as early as the mid 60's.
I think he was aware what was coming.
Any guy with that hairline woulda had _some_ clue...

Carlin began his career, Had to dress debonair. His comedy progressed, his dress regressed and as such he was much! Apologies for the touch!

Don't be scared. It's just a beard - George Carlin
The man is sorely missed. Kudos to Johnny for recognising G.C.'s talent ❤✌
I heard this on a vinyl album in 1973, when I was 13. Have been a fan since. My favorite is 'the words you can't say on tv'.
Teena Pittman I think I can beat that. I have 2 of his shows, Class Clown, and Operation Foole, on 8 track!!! I’m really showing my age!
Most of those 7 words you can now say on TV. Or any place else, unfortunately.
George Carlin has more bars than these soundcloud rappers
it would be great to sample this into a rap!!!

Call him george barlin

A good message for people today that can't visit their barbers and hairstylists, due to coronavirus restrictions.
I forgot about how devastating it is when I have to wait a little longer to get my haircut. Its really pathetic.
He was so very creative and funny with his intelligence when we were young. This is before his heart died. jerk.
lilMissmAlice Jerk? Because he spoke the truth?

George only became bitter through a broken heart when he lost his wife. I wouldn't call that a jerk. I'd call it broken.
