Very funny!
I think your dad was more up for the joke than your mum. From the subtitles I couldn’t tell who was saying what at times.
Makes me feel old when you talk about ‘Only getting an A in Further Maths’ - that was the top grade when I did A-levels (nearly 30 years ago).
WhenI applied to Oxford, one could choose to sit the entrance exam, and have a low offer (ie. two grade Es) instead of having a sky-high offer.
They did turn me down, andI ended up accepting a lowish offer (BCC) from another Uni. I couldn’t really prank my parents about failing that one, not that I’d have thought to do it!

Not for maths at most Russell group universities. AAA is minimum for some but many A*AA and Oxford more like A*A*A to A*A*A*
