My little sister's middle school experience was also horrible because she was basically with all the delinquents. Overall I would give middle school a 2/10 for what it did to my little sister. That "are you sniffing a pixie stick" line will always stay with me. If anyone else thinks the pixie stick thing is related to my little sisters bad time, it’s not. Some kid in my 8th grade pre algebra class was caught by the teacher and she said that. It’s a highlight of my 8th grade year actually with how the class erupted. Here in the US (at least where I'm at) the school grades go as follow: Elementary School: Grades Kindergarden - 5 Middle School: Grades 6-8 High School: Grades 9-12 In my experience, Middle School is that awkward pre-teen phase where you're always very self-concious and just starting to figure yourself out. But other than that, I barely remember it at all lmao. Though, I did discover my love for Band there so I can't complain.

The school trips were also definitely much, much less frequent and the ones that were available were often quite expensive. Before that I was in a public elementary school and I always liked it more there; my elementary teacher, my friends, school trips, etc. I remember seeing her all the way later during my college entrance exams, small world I guess.

I’m currently halfway through 8th grade. The transition to middle school was really weird because of Covid and starting out on zoom, but 7th grade was back to mostly normal. I think last year was pretty good in the second half, but the first half was awful. I had no friends and was sitting alone most of the time. Thankfully I found people I can actually talk to, but I’m pretty optimistic about the second half of this year and hope I can make some good memories out of this.

Middle school here is something like 6.-9. grade and it was pretty fun too. Most of the teachers were pretty chill. Our Czech language/history teacher was the GOAT, he was pretty strict but was also fun. Like we were having a test and halfway through the teacher got bored so he started goofing around and like throwing paper balls on the students, and he was completely ok with the students doing the same to him. He particularly liked one girl from my class because she was kinda rude and had no problem with telling the teacher he's a dumbass and shit like that. Sometimes they'd spend like half the lesson insulting each other and throwing shit on each other, the girl stealing his keys or something. One time he took a water bottle, said it was holy water and poured the water on her while shouting apage satanas.

Just came on to this vid to say that I am 29 going on 30 and middle school was still the worst period of my entire life even to this day. Specifically 6th grade in particular. The horrible-smelling interiors that were falling apart, being ruthlessly ostracized by 95% of students there, being treated like i'm special-needs by both students and faculty despite not remotely being so, parents never having the patience or energy to explain the things that actually mattered to me, and then being pulled out to be homeschooled by a family friend for the last quarter of the year due to plummeting grades caused by the severe depression and mood problems that had occured as a result of everything (but remember! kids aren't allowed to be depressed! cuz you're not an adult with "REAL" problems!!1!). Honestly, the one thing I really regret is being fat/over weight. I mean I was definitely overweight but not that over weight since I played sports and started doing muscle training in the 7th grade, but I was very insecure around those I didn’t know and didn’t really have that much fun in elementary and middle school. -I mean I had a a lot of fun in high school but I wished I could’ve done more if I wasn’t insecure because of being overweight back then. I mean that shit was so fucked up bruh I would literally just try to be having fun and they would make fun of me for being overweight. But being the only fat kid in your class? Nah bruh, not being able to run laps. I remember having a friend in middle school who suddenly got type 2 diabetes, i havent seen him for months. And I didnt have a way to communicate, I had no phone, no console to play with him. Only way of talking to him was during the school day. But when my friend came back, he literally became a celebrity. Everyone was waiting to talk to him, asking him what happened. I remember having to basically escort him like a personal bodyguard. I felt so cool cause i was also getting some of the attention.

Middle school for me started an hour later than elementary school, but then high school was 2 hours earlier
Also if my parents had calls coming in everyday from a teacher they were the kind of parents to tell me to put the teacher on and then my parents would cuss them out because the teacher made me take time out of their work day nearly getting them in trouble at work to tell them something that shouldn’t be a problem. They legit yelled so loud the class could hear it through the phone and the teacher tried their best to turn it down. From that day the teacher stopped making students make calls home.

In 8th Grade, I was an absolute menace. Ran for student council president, won, started a protest, left, sold kool aid and snacks in order to spite the school, and never got caught.

Honestly, the one thing I really regret is being fat/over weight. I mean I was definitely overweight but not that over weight since I played sports and started doing muscle training in the 7th grade, but I was very insecure around those I didn’t know and didn’t really have that much fun in elementary and middle school. -I mean I had a a lot of fun in high school but I wished I could’ve done more if I wasn’t insecure because of being overweight back then. I mean that shit was so fucked up bruh I would literally just try to be having fun and they would make fun of me for being overweight. Of course I’m actually funny and now 6’0” and only slightly over weight and muscular. But I think I would’ve had a lot more memories and much more friends if I was normal weight. -I mean skinny people now are saying they’re insecure because they were really skinny, but it’s a different gravy when you’re overweight- literally all normal weight people besides the athletes are very skin and bones skinny, like you’re literally just normal. But being the only fat kid in your class? Nah bruh, not being able to run laps. Bruh I would’ve had the biggest target had I not being taller on average and started working out and playing sports later. I mean the athletic skinny people would try to test me but obviously weight classes are there for a reason no matter if it’s all muscle or fat, just ask that one 6’6” toned muscular boxer who lost to a 6’2” obese-looking Mexican. Weight classes overshadow people.
But yeah, I would’ve probably had more memories had I been normal weight and not insecure because I was constantly being made fun of for being fat. But I guess in the end it worked out pretty well for me, besides the part where I’m still shy to new people and it’s very hard for me to make friends in university since it takes me about 8 minutes to talk to others or they talk to me and I get introduced to their friends. But man, maybe I should get. Therapist and talk with them about these types of things.
