I watched My Dinner With Hervé 3 times and I got to say this was a excellent movie. Very touching. I would like to think Hervé would be very happy we remember him this way. I don't understand why it took 25 years for this story but I am just glad to have seen it. Dinklage was brilliant ! Great movie !
Discrimination? A full size man who commits suicide, threatens people with knives and demands money from producers would not go to his grave as a victim.

Best supporting male actor for Dornan. Best lead male actor for Dinklage. Best suicide note ever goes to Hervé Villechaize. I know it sounds funny but I am not joking.
It's all made me nostalgic for that time. I left LA shortly after Herve's death (after 3 years) and lived about 5 minutes away in Studio City. I never liked living there but I do miss certain things, so it wasn't all bad.
The one thing I don’t like is that Jamie played a “version” of this man whilst Peter plays the real Hervé. I feel like if part of the story is real why not make it all real? Still, I’m so glad Hervé is being remembered as a real person finally and not just a joke or a punchline. God Bless him.

This guy's like 30 something and only knows Herve from man with the Golden gun? Everyone pretty much knows that's old enough, fantasy Island and tattoo. I'm 24 and know all about Herve.
Oh, Jamie...so funny! Extremely fidgety almost always, and the Director was talking to him, and he is just mindlessly walking down the hallway, ignoring what the man was saying! WTH?! I love Jamie to pieces, but what was he thinking? Does he have major ADHD? Sort of seems like he has at least a little bit of it. Lol Oh, well, I love watching him anyway, regardless!
@@lynnk-j9948 Not necessarily. My wonderful late husband always had a great appetite and always had to have a "crumpet" (translation, a sweet) after almost every meal, including breakfast. And he also liked his beer (NEVER light). But he never gained weight because he exercised every day -- mostly by walking daily, utilizing 8 lb weights every other day. He actually was built like Jamie, a little shorter at 5' 11 3/4" (he would never round up to 6") and about 178 lbs and had muscular calves and biceps. When he died at age 68 (an accident), he still had a 35" waist, wore a 42 regular jacket and had a full head of dark brown hair. His last meal was breakfast, and he ate Nutter Butter cookies as a "crumpet". I bet anything that Jamie at age 68 will be as fit then as he is today. I don't think I'll be around to see myself, as I will be 100 by then.

I loved this video and was an avid fan of Fantasy Island. Ive read Herve was in constant pain before his death.

He’s from Belfast, Northern Island where they only had 3 TV stations. They got Love Boat sometimes but not Fantasy Island.
