From what I gathered about african culture, music is not just a hobby. It is literally synonymous with life. It's about showing reverence to our ancestors. I'm just glad I'm able to witness this
I am new to drumming, but come from a family of musicians and singers. Thank you for making your lessons easy to follow. I can feel the love and patience in your teaching this amazing instrument. I will continue watching.
I am a violinist/music teacher having a tough day, decided I want to learn to play the djembe- your video just made my day so much better! Thank you for your positivity, enthusiasm, for teaching the story behind the rhythm too! Great teaching!
True story, I've watched this video ONCE like 3 years ago. And your rhythm and your singing is so catchy - until this day I still sometimes hear that rhythm in my head. 😂🎵 And then I go "ble bedebe bedem badabaaa" Much love and greetings
I've been playing the djembe since i was 7, I'm 19 now and your videos really help me at the beginning of any new composition in working on. shout out to you bro
I took djembe lessons for years with a local teacher who recently retired. I've been missing playing and found your video. Fara's teaching style is similar to my teacher, so I felt right at home. Loved it! Thank you. I'll be looking for more.
Dearest Germ guru, thank you so much for taking your time to reply to my comment. You have the best energy I love listening to you teach The Drummer and I love hearing about where the drumbeat is from and what the drumbeat represents I love Africa I love you all☮️☯️😎
I always wanted to learn the Djembe! Today is my birthday and I am discovering this video while I listen to music and water my plants. I think this is a sign, I will gift myself a drum this 33rd run around the sun ☺️ subscribed! bless!
Perfect timing, thank you for this video! And...THANK YOU Jamie from work for telling me to watch this video. Honestly, I just can't believe the timing. Sorry for going on and on here - but I just have to share. So yesterday I'm at work, a bit exhausted. Well, to be 100% direct, I'm overwhelmed. I need time off and told my friend Jamie I'm going to. So she asks what I'm going to do? She suggested golfing and I almost spit the water I was drinking out of my mouth. Thankfully it didn't come to that ; ) I told her I need to start something easy and fun and thought to play and sing more music. So she told me about this channel - and it's given me new ideas. I'm going to start practicing piano soon too. AND...if all goes well...I'm going to bring my friends together and who knows, maybe even start a weekend band. Thank you Jamie. Thank you for creating this video and thank you universe for Jamie finding out about it too. Alright, bye for now - and big hugs to my new music friends : )
