      I’m not a hairdresser, but I love watching Hair-Buddah. I’ve sent four hairdressers the link to his videos from time to time because I knew they’d love them, and they do. Yesterday I sent out that short about the kid with the multiple cowlicks and got plenty of “wow” feedback. Keep up the great videos, Hair-Buddah! It's a shampoo, I can't understand why anyone would apply it to dry hair, have they never washed their hair before? 😂 The last girl I thought the end result looked nice on her, much better than the orange and even a blonde would have been. I'm transitioning to my natural grey hair (I'm in my 50s). My natural base color is a medium dark ash blonde. Three weeks ago I went for a pixie cut and lightener to blend my grey growth with a platinum blonde. Cut was chef's kiss. The toner was a major disaster! The hairdresser did a purple toner and when I saw myself, I was on the verge of tears. I had purple hair! Literally, lavender. I talked to the owner and immediately she removed the toner. She was the sweetest ever! But, next day my hair was turning a shade of green in some areas because my natural base color is ash blonde. RUclips to the rescue! I did a lemon and conditioner wash and it worked beautifully. It removed all of the toner. Now I have platinum blonde with my natural growth as shadow roots. That was what I wanted from the very beginning, but the hairdresser didn't know what to mix to achieve those results. After paying $300USD, I ended up with a dollar solution.

    I don't know why you popped up on my feed , but you are hysterical. I started greying at 25 and my hair grows fast. I have dark brown hair and had to dye it every 2 weeks. I started going lighter and lighter, then ditched my long hair. The process of trying to remove the color with T18 left me with green hair. Good thing it was Halloween! After 7 more months I had white short hair. A stylist stopped me in a store and asked who colored it as the teens were all going grey. I told him it was natural and he did not believe me!

    In addition, the first girl used a rosemary/mint 'hair mask.'
    For those who don't know, both rosemary and mint are EXTREMELY drying, astringent ingredients.

    I once told my stylist friend that I toned my hair with a purple mask and she stared at me for a solid ten seconds before saying “oh, right. You do art. You mean you literally changed the tone of the pigment in your hair. Not that you think a purple mask is the same as a toner.”
    In art, “tone” is how light or dark a color is. I changed the tone of my dyed grey hair by adding some dark purple pigment. Which is absolutely not what the hair product called “toner” does.

    • @lmtetreau
      @lmtetreau 8 месяцев назад

      I do the same, but I actually take it further to make it purple. I use the Redken Blue Purple mask, mixed with a really pigmented blue shampoo ... and within 30 mins I have steel blue overtop of my grey. I get sooo many compliments on it, it's insane. All I really wanted aas not having to worry about yellowing lol

    At the end of the last girl's video, it said across the bottom "I hope this video has helped you to get rid of brassy tones". So she was definitely trying to neuratlise the orange - which by the way is an actual hair colour and I'm sick of people freaking out when they find their hair that shade during bleaching, like it's the worst thing in the world! - but she didn't put enough product on so it was patchy, the ends were still orange and top silvery, and she could've just bought a toner, or a blue shampoo.

    Purple shampoo and purple conditioner is to upkeep your colour in between visits to the salon. I use it in the couple of weeks before my salon appointment to calm some of the brassiness. Mind you I am an older woman and I can’t even imagine what I would be like if I was young with all the RUclips tutorials and products available. I used to play around a lot with temporary colours when I was young. I think it is a right of passage to experiment with your hair when you are young, and I am not the most patient person. I see something and I want it now! So I understand why these girls are doing all this stuff to their hair. Hair is something that you can change - unlike your skin and your weight. So it becomes a quick fix for self confidence. Thank goodness for people like Hair Buddha who are there to at least try and help girls make more informed decisions.

    I recently did a bleach bath on my processed blonde hair. I tried a fashion color and it was horribly patchy. I was shocked at how "yellow" my hair was after the bleach bath, I guess I should have left it on longer. It took my already light blonde hair to pee yellow. I was so confused. I used manic panic light lavender and it really helped. It didn't turn purple, or white but did bring the yellow down quite a bit. I'm wondering if I should try another bleach bath to permanently take down the yellow or just use the manic panic a couple times a week. Hmmm.

    I use a Schwarzkopf toner called Igora brilliance they make a specific 6vol devloper, so its a true professional demi-permanent toner. It comes in all levels and tones. It's so much better than just slapping T18 on hair where it doesn't belong. T18 is a permanent hair color and should only be used on level 10 blonde pale yellow hair. With the true toners that come in levels, if say ypur hair only lifted to level 8, you can tone with level 8. Wait a few weeks, then you bleach again if platinum was what you wanted. You can save the health of your hair by doing it correctly. You can also buy Schwarzkopf Igora online without being a professional.

    If you wanna talk about something being a dirty, not nice color, then you can call it a "mucky" or a "muddy" color. Those are a lot faster to say and less words to use.

    I have bleached it and use a semi diy toner and i am going to wash with purple shampoo. It should look good. And they say apply it wet so it looks more even. But dry is an option to. I look like her now, but havent use the shampoo yet. So grey here i come. 😂😂

    “It’s not reaalllly bad?” That was a question like it or not 😂
    I still don’t understand why people think they can tone or fix hair mistakes with shampoo. No matter the color. Some have gotten lucky but mostly it’s not great. How is shampoo going to make your multi colored hair look even? 😂
    What can be done to help someone with hair like the first one? Only a haircut or can something more be done? Thank you!!

    Question: If I add 10 or possibly 20 volume to my purple shampoo would that turn it into a toner and help to get rid of some brassiness?

    • @hair-buddha
      @hair-buddha  8 месяцев назад +2

      Shampoo is not created to be mixed with 10 volume. But It would work (I think) I hev never tested it. AND if you want to create a toner, always MAXIMUM with 10vol NOT 20 vol

      @@hair-buddha See, I knew you would say that, always 10, I threw the 20 in to mess with ya. I wouldn't try that (or use T-19) to fix my issues. Thanks for all your amazing content and for the forever reminder stuck in my monkey brain to use FINE SECTIONS.

    Purple dye should dye orange hair and make it brown by the color wheel. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    Chemically when you mix shampoo and conditioner they neutralize and form snot.

    I would have imagined the purple color alone wouldn't do anything without developer. It's not a direct dye either. I thought her method was a good enough fix to avoid much more damaging methods. So if I were to get a box dye and just put the color on without mixing it, it will deposit some semblence of pigment? This could be very interesting. I do Rusk permanent at home, so I don't need a wacky chemical reaction and my hair trying to escape my head!
