For example Pwad he has a beat box style even though his beat box doesn't match up to other professional beat boxers, but still hearing him doing his thing is cool af. Because he has an unique style.

The judges definitely are skilled beatboxers. The blond one who appeared a lot is Napom, the former GBB champ 2017. You DEFINITELY should check him. And the 2nd place guy on this video is Dlow, the current champion. Another monster you should check out also.

I have to say that GBB 2019 stepped up the beatboxing game. It is the best year so far so I'd recommend watching a couple involving D-Low or loopstation battles :D

Anytime you see a judge is because they are a legend of this particular hobby; that is extremely underrated and should totally be considered a mainstream genre.

You should react to some loopstation battles where people record their voices as instruments and then make a song out of it on the fly. Those get the crowd really going. TIONEB vs SARO 2017 FINAL is one of my favorites :)

i got mad respect for people that can hold that throat base. i've been doing beatboxing for about 2 years. and can only manage to hold maybe 1-3 mins of a sentence of throat base. but these guys are a whole new level.
As you said at the last clip the guy named d-low apreciates codfish for what he does, yes they are rly good friends and respect each other
(for ppl that dont know if you watch the or have already watched the 2018 finals they both said the "i want my money back" part because its from a song they created) and obv the name of the song is "i want my money back"
Dlow 2019 winner compilation is just absurd, he makes his own songs and most of his sounds are not done by anyone else yet

Codfish uses alot of bass combined with singing.
There's so many talented beatboxers with different unique styles to see, I'm following the scene online since 5 years now and they keep getting better and better.
Another time, very good vidéo, codfish is very strong , brilliant and multitalented
So, many of the songs he sings are already popular songs by other artists, some however, are by him. He's a youtuber as well, and has a lot of subscribers (over 1 mil i think). The one part will he went super fast and made laser gun noises was due to the performer before him, he got in Codfish's face and attempted to make laser sounds but failed in comparison. Also, yes there are team battles. One of the judges, the one who seemed most expressive, goes by Napom and he went solo against a team and still won. The judges are former winners of beatbox championships btw.

These guys literally deserve more "hype." They don't pause the video at all. They let the viewers watch and enjoy the reaction.
I always did love Codfish. In the semi-finals, the reason he went more technical and less melodic is because his opponent Bataco called him out and said that he wanted a battle. So codfish replicated his sounds like the pew, and threw em right back before going into no-diggity and then finished it with a nice technical mash. Personally, I feel like Codfish is one of the best melodic and vocal beatboxers.

Yeah the grand beatbox battles, hosted by swissbeatbox, also host: aside from solo 1v1 battles, tag team battles (2v2), loopstation battles (loop vs loop), 7 to smoke battles (1v1 1 round each, 7 people, first person to 7 wins, wins), tag team loopstation (newly added for gbb 2020; the next gbb), and crew battles (newly added for gbb 2020; these battles have more than two people vs more than two people).

Codfish is more musicality, hence why you heard more singing than beatboxing. If you'd like to hear the other side of the spectrum, listen to any recent things with Alem, Alexinho, Colaps, etc.

the reason why codfish in the semi final started so fast paced the way he did is because the other guy said he wanted a battle and did that really complex whistle and the judges were surprised because codfish hit him straight back with it

Codfish won the solo GBB2018 and the opponent D-Low in the final of 2018 went on to win Solo GBB2019! 😎

Beatboxing has evolves SOOO much even in just the last 5 years or so and it is so amazing! I highly suggest checking out Tomazacre or D-low (or really anybody) I would suggest watching some battles and some compilations so to get a good feel for the battles

When i show it to other people they seem completely uninterested and i feel like a child trying to get attention from a parent who's busy. ;-; You know the feeling. Just standing there all excited patiently waiting for a reaction to get NOTHING!!!! XD

You should check out D-Low's 2018 compilation too, many people think he should have won in 2018 but he came back in 2019 and won the event.

The compilation vids are pretty damn good but if you really wanna react to a beatbox vid then watch some battles. Actually seeing the guys going back at each other is something else
Most of the routines he preformed are know throughout the beatbox community. He’s one of if not (in my opinion) the best beatboxed around. Him and Napom
He makes all these beats at once and it’s only his throat which if you think about it is A LOT to do
It would be so funny if you guys react to this video of you reacting to beatbox for a first time and plus doing a commentary on top hahaha now that you have an idea who is who and how the beatboxers are called.

Semifinal round is my favorite battle on gbb 2018 codfish cover song no diggity from blackstreet
GBB (Grand Beatbox Battle) quick explained:
Solo category:
There are 16 places for beatboxer to compete. If you want to get a place on gbb you need to make a wildcard video and out of them the best 16 will get a change to compete. (Free places for past champions).
Every beatboxer has to give a 4min elimination, out of all the best 8 get through to the battles.
1/4 Final, than 1/2 Final and then the Grand Final (1st and 2nd place) and the small final (for the 3rd and 4th place).
In every battle the opponents gets 2 rounds which are each 1:30mins, so together 4 rounds.
And yes all the judges are beatboxing, in fact they are all world class beatboxer, for example, the one judge who's name is napom won the gbb 2016 and is a american champion
And yes there are multiple categories, like tag team, solo and loopstation (which is pretty insane)
Also for the gbb2020 new category's are tag loopstation, crew battles and so on
